have departments for public safety. The
primary goal of the agency is prevention
and protection of the public from dangers
affecting safety such as crimes or disasters.

PHILIPPINES?

public order, and safety is a crucial
responsibility. Let’s explore the key
players who contribute to maintaining a
safe and orderly environment:

10. 1. Law Enforcement Agencies:
Philippine National Police (PNP): The PNP is the primary
law enforcement agency responsible for maintaining peace
and order. They handle crime prevention, investigation, and
law enforcement across the country.
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI): criminal
investigation, intelligence gathering, and national security
matters.
Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP):
managing jails and ensuring the welfare of detainees.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP): fire prevention,
suppression, and rescue operations.
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG): Safeguards maritime
security, conducts search and rescue missions, and enforces
maritime laws.

Barangay Tanods: Community volunteers who assist in
maintaining peace and order at the barangay (local
community) level.
