Samsung mobile is the toast of millions of consumers and the media. However, media turnout is usually low at the
launch of non-product-specific events in the northern part of Nigeria. The challenge for Upticomm was to ensure that
influential reporters from reputable regional media attend and report the launch of the first ultra modern Samsung
Customer Service Centre in Abuja
Our Work
• We recced the venue, and developed media launch strategy
• We constituted an influential media group to coordinate the invitation of media correspondents
• We involved the Consumer Protection Council of Nigeria and ensured that its DG, performed the ribbon-cutting
• Upticomm developed/segmented messages and deployed same to the appropriate media
Results
• The launch of Samsung Customer Service Plaza (CSP) was well attended and reported by the media. The news
made the cover story in Computer.com, the most authoritative industry magazine in its February edition.

Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) Ghana, the foremost producer of GoldenTree chocolate confectioneries and semi-
finished cocoa products wanted to penetrate the Nigerian market using the 27th edition of Lagos International Trade
Fair, Lagos as launch-pad. The objectives were threefold; to generate awareness with a view to build equity; to serve as
brand experience vehicle for a whole range of stakeholders; and to engage the media community.
Our Work
• We constructed an expansive 72sm exhibition pavilion in a high foot-traffic area in the Food and Drink section
• Daily bumper sticker activation on 700 cars/day times ten days in order to create awareness for GoldenTree
• Fliers activation was carried out on a daily basis, engaging an average of 500 visitors/day
• Daily taste activation for hundred of guests who visited the pavilion
• CPC granted TV interviews on NTA, AIT, LTV and Silverbird, the largest TV networks in Nigeria
• Daily radio hypes & live appearances on The Beat 99.9FM and Rainbow 94.1FM; youth oriented radio stations
• Media unveiling of GoldenTree brands during the Media/Distributors’ Forum in a classy five star hotel in Lagos
• CPC brand team also surveyed Oke Arin; a popular market in Lagos
Results
• An estimated 35,000,000 eyeballs came in contact with the GoldenTree brand during/post activation
• CPC participation generated 90 leads who requested for distributorship

The Nigeria International Wine & Spirit Fair which started in 2010 as a unique platform that attracted promoters who
showcased various wines and spirit from all over the world to consumers and enthusiasts in a two day world class
event in Lagos. However, the past two editions was received as an entertainment event. The challenge for Upticomm
was to reposition the Fair as a business event that will generate the interest of the government.
Our Work
• We developed key messages that tie the fair to the transformation agenda of the federal government in order to
connect with a wider range of stakeholders
• World Press Conference in an exclusive bar was well attended & widely reported by local and international media
• 20 wineries drawn from Australia, Chile, France, Italy, Mexico, Nigeria, Poland and South Africa attended the fair
