- 1. Magic Wand Tool This is one of the first tools I learned how to use. First up, you select the tool, shown in this screen shot Next, you click in the area you want to delete, copy, etc (next screen shot), and finally, carry out the action of your intention, in my case, delete.
- 2. The selected place is highlighted by an animated black and white line, as shown in the image on the right.
- 3. Since the last screen shot, I have hit the delete button, and now the place that as selected before is now just plain white.
- 4. Image adjustment menu This is much easier to access on CS6, but this is the location on CS3. In the adjustment menu, you can change different aspects of the image. Some examples are shown in the following screen shots.
- 5. Here, I am adjusting the brightness and contrast of the image. With the layers function in Photoshop, you can adjust each layer for the best results, and finer editing.
- 6. Now, I am adjusting the hue and saturation of the image. All of the adjustments aren't permanent. If you look back at it later, you can change it again.
- 7. Here I am adjusting the exposure of the image. The three adjustments that I have just shown are just a few of many available to edit your image.
- 8. Paint bucket tool This tool is used to fill any parts of your image that you need, for example, I used the bucket to colour the puff ball blue, and the shading of the letters on the title (masthead).
- 9. To change the colour, you simply click one of the two overlapping squares in the tools panel on the left. The menu appears in front of you, where you can pick a precise colour, as precise as hexadecimal codes.
