3. Essay On Air Pollution
Energy is essential to life. Without it, billions of people would be left cold and
hungry. The major source of energy comes from fossil fuels, and the dominant fossil
fuels used today by most industrialized and developing countries are oil, coal, and
natural gas. This burning of fossil fuels is causing several health and environmental
issues.
The first issue is air pollution. As many of you already know, burning fossil fuels
emits several air pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide
and the most common pollutant, carbon dioxide. These harmful gases are toxic to
both the environment and public health.
Another issue associated with air pollution is acid rain. Acid rain is formed when

Nevertheless, there is one simple solution to this global crisis:
The hydrogen fuel cell.
Fuel cells are used in a wide range of portable, stationary and transport applications,
such as battery chargers and home heating, but the fuel cell is best known for
powering cars. Fuel cells are quite possibly the most versatile energy solution ever
invented.
The fuel cell seems like the perfect energy source: Quiet, clean and independent of
gasoline. In a fuel cell vehicle, the fuel cell transforms hydrogen and oxygen into
electricity, and the left over heat and water is all that it emits. Most importantly, the
fuel cell is environmentally friendly.
Take NASA as an example. NASA is a world known space program, and their
technology expands the frontiers of knowledge and capabilities in aeronautics,
science, and space. NASA develops the latest innovative technology and has the best
scientists and engineers from around the world working for them.
Quote from NASA
Producing power without damaging our environment is a continuing challenge.
Fossil fuels like gasoline, coal, and jet fuel are non renewable, and burning these
fuels is increasing air pollution and harms the environment. Batteries have limited
lifetimes and need to be disposed of in hazardous waste landfills. Many
environmentally friendly alternatives (solar, wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal
power) can only be used in specific environments. In contrast, hydrogen fuel cells
have near zero

Passing the Drama Queen In order to punctuate sentences correctly writers must
understand certain rules and concepts. A clause is a word group containing a subject
and a verb. The two types of clauses are independent and subordinate. An independent
clause contains a subject and a verb and can stand alone as a complete sentence. A
subordinate clause contains a subordinate conjunction in addition to a subject. A
phrase is a group of words that do not contain both a subject and a verb. Three
common sentence errors are the fragment, the comma splice, and the run on sentence.
A fragment is a clause or subordinate clause punctuated as a sentence. A run on

He writes, I found this sick arrowhead and I will stick it into one of his low profile

punctuate two independent clauses, I found this sick arrowhead and I will stick it
into one of his low profile tires. He can fix this error by separating the two
independent clauses. To separate the two clauses, he can add a comma after the first
independent clause or replace the coordinating conjunction with a semi colon.
Pidd makes a comma splice error. He writes, I do have a lot of drama going on, I

punctuated the two independent clauses, I do have a lot of drama going on and I
deserve at least a C with only a comma. To fix this error Pidd can either separate the
clauses or subordinate one of them. He can separate the clauses by adding a
coordinating conjunction after the comma or replace the comma with a period or by
joining the two independent sentences with a semi colon. To subordinate one of the
clauses, Pidd must add a subordinating conjunction to it.
Pidd s failure to correctly punctuate sentences is the reason why he does not deserve
a passing grade. Instead of complaining about Coach T`s teaching method, Pidd
should leave the drama at home and focus when he is at
5. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay
Martin Luther King Jr. From the Apostle Paul to Martin Buber: Martin Luther King s
use of Historical and Religious Figures in his Letter From Birmingham Jail In his
Letter From Birmingham Jail, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is addressing his fellow
clergymen in response to their accusations of his unwise and untimely activities. Like
most other reformers, he finds his greatest rationalization and defense from the word
of God. Considering the religious affiliation of his audience, King appeals to the
clergymen by instituting examples from, and associates himself with historical and
religious figures. Creatively, King is establishing a common ground between himself
and the men of the cloth, which causes them to respect his actions and... Show more

There s something else to be noted here though. Not only is King successful in
relating himself to these figures, but also his ideas. When referring to his plea for
social reform, he calls it the gospel of freedom. King s diction is very profitable to
his argument. Automatically when the word gospel is used, one associates it with
God (and probably more so do the clergymen). By referring to his ideas of freedom
as a gospel, he is adding religious connotations to them. Now, not only is King being
associated with the word of God, but also so are his ideas. In doing this, he is
alluding to the point that the toleration and acceptance of segregation and slavery
etc, goes against the word of God. These things then make men less virtuous and
pious. There has been a lot of research and analization of King s writings by other
scholars, who also recognize his tactful talents. From the article Martin Luther
King, Jr., as Scholar: A Reexamination of His Theological Writings, Clayborne
Carson (along with Peter Holloran, Ralph E. Luker, and Penny Russell) examine
King s method of eclectic composition. King s appropriations of the words and
ideas of others should certainly not be understood merely as violations of academic
rules. They also indicate his singular ability to intertwine his words and ideas with
those of others to express his beliefs

Heavenly Mother, the New Jerusalem is the female image of God that gives eternal
life in the Last Days. For thousands of years people have known we have a Father in
Heaven. What many still do not know is that there is a prophecy being fulfilled right
now, this very moment. This states that wo not only have a Father in Heaven, but we
also have a Heavenly Mother who is being revealed in the Last Days to give us
eternal life. I can truly believe in The New Jerusalem because I have personal

I came for the nest Sabbath day and that day I was baptized. That hole was filled, my
heart was full, and it knew that Heavenly Mother had saved my soul.Among the
many prophecies in the Bible, one of the most important is that concerning Heavenly
Mother who gives life. Jesus came to this Earth about two thousand years ago and
he taught his disciples the way through which they could receive salvation, that is,
the Passover (Jn 6:53.) Even at that time hecould have given eternal life and taken
them to Heaven, but instead he told them to wait until the Last Days (Jn 6:54.)
This is because that is the time Heavenly Mother appears. In Matthew 22:1 10
Jesus told a parable, in which he compared the Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding
banquet. Being invited to thewedding banquet is the same as being invited to the
Kingdom of Heaven. To have a wedding there must be a groom, a bride, and guests.
In the parable there is a groom, and guests, but no bride even thoughthe bride is the
most important piece of a wedding. This is because she was not ready at Jesus s
firstcoming, but at his second coming. That s why Revelations 19:7 NIV says Let
us rejoice and be glad and give him Glory! For the wedding of the Lamb(Christ) has
come, and his bride has made herself ready! The bride is ready in the Last Days. Rev
21:9 10 say that this bride is the New Jerusalem coming down out of Heaven. Just as
Jesus is not a physical lamb, this Jerusalem is not
7. Analysis Of Francois Hutteau s Great Search For Liberty
Francois Hutteau s great search for Liberty
Hello my French brothers and sisters! Dark times have befallen our precious land,
and pure chaos has ensued. I write to the people in France in hopes of establishing
a new land. A land that can be looked upon proudly with eyes of great virtue. In
order to achieve our wildest dreams we must sort through the rubbish that has
landed us here in the first place. How will we as a society react to the many things
that have been dealt to the people of France? Perhaps our great fight ends in
bloodshed, and broken promises. Or perhaps we could take heed of the laws and
policies our fellow Europeans across the Sea. I had the pleasure of visiting one of the
cities in America that the citizens take so much pride in: Boston, Massachusetts. A
port town on the North Eastern coast that was a large part of the American Revolution
. It was also home to the Notorious Boston Massacre. There are a number of things
that I enjoyed about my trip, but pointing out the differences between Boston and
France had to be the most delectable part of my trip. The way in which they practice
religion is something to behold. Their new Constitution is also no laughing matter,
and lastly the many things Americans find fun is mesmerizing, and also repulsive.
America is a tremendous place and I cannot wait to guide you through my journey
and inferences.
The first voyage I made when I got off the boat was directly towards a church. I
decided to visit the Old North Church and as I approached I noticed that the brick
work seemed to glisten in the sun, and the white interior reminded me of how pure
the world can really be. The church practiced Protestantism, and started soon after
the War.[1] I admired the way in which the citizens praised God, but I did happen to
notice that their practices were rather different from my own. After talking to some
of the Americans most had either commented on my accent or expressed their
condolences to the revolution. I also asked them about how they worship and how
they choose to worship. Many of these American citizens were free to choose what
they wanted to worship. Most did say that they would be judged for their religious
decisions, but were never forced into doing

Morgan Spurlock, introduce the viewer to the fast food world. It is enormous.
Restaurant chains like McDonald, Burger King and KFC, are spending countless of

youngsters, parents, middleclass people and rich people to go buy their junk food.

4: In connection to school dinners, compare the Jamie Oliver School Dinner example
to that of Super Size Me
In Jamie Oliver s experiment we saw a lot of teens without basic knowledge about
the food they were eating, and the same thing are comparable to Morgans
experiment. The people do not know how to cook, so it is easier to visit the nearest
McDonald s and buy it for the children because the children insist. Another huge
comparable problem is the poorest population, they can not effort the healthy food
and therefore forced to buy the unhealthy junk food for themselves and their children.
5: In your opinion, is it the same in Denmark?
No, in Denmark we do not have the same problems in that scale. Of cause there is a
percentage of fat or overweight people in Denmark living hand in hand with the fast
food restaurant Chains, but in Denmark the most of population have a basic cooking
knowledge and therefore know what are vegetables and what cheeseburgers are.
Children are instructed about cooking and healthy and unhealthy food in the
elementary school so when they grow up there is a slighter chance that they will be

Poe
In the short story, The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, the narrator is an
unreliable narrator, someone the reader can t trust. The first example of an
unreliable narrator occurs when the narrator claims to be able to know what the
old man is thinking and feeling. The narrator says, Presently I heard a slight groan,

oh, no! it was the low stifled sound that arises from the bottom of the soul when
overcharged with awe. The narratoris claiming to be able to recognize that the old

A second example, is how the narrator claims to have super human hearing ability
when he says, now, I say, there came to my ears a low, dull, quick sound, such as a
watch makes when enveloped in cotton. I knew that sound well, too. It was the
beating of the old man s heart. It increased my fury, as the beating of a drum
stimulates the soldier into courage. Here the narrator is claiming to be able to hear
the man s heart from the narrator s hiding place, which is probably across the room
form the old man. In the end of the story his super human hearing is what causes the
narrator to confess because he believes the policeman must also hear the heartbeat.
The third example is established at the beginning of the story when the narrator
claims, I heard all things in the heaven and in the
10. Kant s Notion Of Good
Kant s notion of good;
For Kant, he starts out by saying, Nothing in the world or out of it! can possibly be
conceived that could be called good without qualification except a GOOD WILL
(Kant, 2008). Kant further explains this statement through the first and second
chapter. He initially says that many things can be considered good such as;
judgments, resoluteness, and perseverance can be undoubtedly good but can
become bad if the person s character isn t good or if their will in using them isn t
good. He further says that a will is not good because of what it leads to but because it
s good in itself.
Kant introduces the word duty where he says one can only perform an action from
duty if that action is what he directly wanted to do. He leads to the conclusion of the
definition of duty after describing two cases where one might perform an action that
could be mistaken as out of duty and they include actions done with some kind of
benefit to the doer or where one does an action that in is in accord with duty but he
doesn t want to perform that action but another which requires him to perform that
action.
One formulation can come out of the two types of love Kant talks about, the
pathological love that lies in the direction of the person s feelings and practical love
that lies in the will and principles of action. He makes a second proposition, an action
doesn t get its moral value from the purpose through it but from the maxim that it
involves . Take an example of a

The story revolves around Garrett who grieved over the death of his wife,
Catherine. As a way of release, he put his sadness into words by writing love letters
addressed to his late wife, then place them in a bottle and throw them out in the sea.
And Theresa Osborne, a 36 year old mother of one named Kevin and a divorcee, is a
Boston newspaper columnist. This book tells of a lovethat is everlasting and
unbreakable.
The story begins when Theresa finds a bottle on the shore of Cape Cod, a beach
where she is in for a vacation along with her editor and a dear friend, Deanna. Inside
the bottle is a love letter written for a woman named Catherine by a man named
Garrett. Theresa instantly got interested to find out who s who (Garrett and Catherine).

The plot was very well written and was easy to be understood. The story was sad,
tragic, distressing and a definite tear jerker. The characters were more human, they
were much more flawed, but real. I do like and admire Theresa because of her
attitude towards taking care of Kevin, her son. It showed her undying love and
passion because even though she is a single parent, she still managed to raise her
son. I also like Garrett because he showed how devoted he is to his ex wife
Catherine. He has a very truthful and real attitude just like his well written letters.
The character that I love the most is Jeb Blake, Garret s father. Even though he
only had few exposures in the book, I learned a lot from him especially with his
fatherly advice, his words of wisdom. I can relate to it because just like Garret, I
have a father who likes giving advices, who always remind what and what not to
do. If I were to choose a third main character it would definitely be Catherine.
Although, she was already dead, everything in the novel was because of her, about
her, for the sake of

Although our ideas seem perfectly logical, every person around us thinks the same
way. We were all raised with different families, schools, and peers. These factors are
very influential to our current beliefs and if one of the major factors changed, we
would not be the same people today. Not one person was raised the same or had dealt
with the same experiences, so not one person thinks exactly the same as another one,
leaving many opportunities for misunderstandings.
There are currently over 7,000,000,000 (seven billion) citizens occupying the world.
Personally, I have gotten myself into countless misunderstandings with various
people whether it was or was not my intent. Although most of us have experienced
many more misunderstandings and problems with other people, let s say each person

an imaginable amount of disagreements would be formed. Since all conflicts are
different and range in intensity, this statistic gives an immense opportunity for
potential warfare to take place.
As humans, we naturally have a fight or flight instinct when we are challenged or
threatened. We generally believe that if someone does not agree with our viewing of
the world, they don t understand us. Our

telling the story of truth before justice can be served. Understandingly, there is a
frustration when crimes go unsolved. We as a society expect to receive and benefit
from receiving closure from identifying the perpetrator as well as punishing such
person(s) for the crime committed. More importantly, a community feels safe when it
knows that criminals are not walking freely amongst law abiding citizens and are not

This story takes place in the South, when there is racial discrimination. The South
was very prejudice. They were admitted by the old Negro into a dim hall from
which a stairway mounted into still more shadow (Faulkner, A Rose for Emily).
This use of the offensive word negro shows that Mr. Faulkner was trying to show
what the life of an African Americanwas during this time. They were just property
and by using these words to talk about them, they had no identity. In 1894 when
Colonel Sartoris, the mayor he who fathered the edict that no Negro woman should

from the death of her father on into perpetuity (Faulkner, A Rose for Emily). African
Americans were seen as nothing more than workers. They could not socialize with
white people, they were just there to serve them.
Mr. Faulkner explains the roles of women in the South and how they were seen
through the eyes of men. When Miss Emily Grierson died the whole town went to her
funeral: the men out of respectful affection for a fallen monument and the women

Strategic Employee Planning is the practice of developing your organizational goals
and strategic plan. It is also knowing how to achieve your goals and implement the

hiring new talent into your organization and recognizing and cultivating talent you
already have in the organization. Promoting from within your organization is more
cost effective and encourages employee engagement and loyalty. Performance
Management is when the right person is aligned with the right role and position
within the organization. Its end goal is to make sure that roles align with your
business strategy to achieve its goals. It develops goals for success, supports
employee development, and moves the organization in a positive direction. Learning
and Motivating sounds like two components but they actually go hand in hand.
Learning is more than just training it is the acquirement of information and skills,
which in turn gives way to knowledge and experience. To be effective learning
programs need to include behavior based activities and tasks that support the
organization s culture and proposals. The motivation comes in when employees see
how their growth impacts the organization, and realize just how valuable their role is.

For mothers everywhere, having a newborn baby requires them to seek the most
healthiest route of taking care of them (newborn). The first thing, or things, that are

importantly, how and where they sleep. Where a newborn baby sleep has a huge
impact how the baby will grow up in a more psychological way. Infantsleeping

However, there are few more common sleeping arrangements that are used here in
the US. One of these sleeping arrangements is called co ed sleeping, where the
newborn baby sleeps with his or her parents in the same bed. According to an
article on WTE, experts suggest that family bedding works comfortably and
beautifully, building a stronger bond, making nursing easier, and increasing
physical attachment between parent and baby The article also state that other
experts suggests that this arrangement prevents babies from sleeping on their own,
discourages the independence factor, and may up the risks of sleep disturbances ,
which isn t good for a newborn s sleep duration. However, all sleep arrangements
for newborns has its pros and cons, whether it s a psychological or physical factor.
One pro to this arrangement that both the parent and baby can benefit from this is
that it can help a nursing mom get her sleep cycle in sync with her baby s. The
mother wouldn t have to be unprepared for when the baby wakes up expecting food
right away, the mother would already be prepared not worrying about the her
newborn having malnutrition throughout the night. However, one particular can
that stands out is this can mean less sleep for the baby. The article states that super
intintive tendencies, such as picking up a newborn baby can actually do more
harm than good when it comes to a good night sleep. This is not just negative for
the baby, but also negative to you because there is potential risk on throwing of one
s sleep cycle which has or is yet to become
20. Comparing Life Of Pi And The Tyger By William Blake
Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and The Tyger by William Blake can be seen as
comparable from numerous viewpoints.
Though one is a novel and the other is a short poem, the two pieces of writing can be
thoroughly analyzed on their perspectives and themes to highlight important aspects
in each.
The stories contain a similar animal theme and both question God, yet they differ in
their views on God.
A similar aspect in the two stories is the animal theme.
When Pi is trapped on a lifeboat, his only company is a Bengal Tiger. It was in this
circumstance that Pi understood the animal need for survival. Pi says of his
transformation from a strict vegetarian into someone who expected to kill to
survive, that, I descended to a level of savagery I never imagined possible. (218).
Everyday, Pi felt like he was at a crucial point in his life, since he didn t know
whether he would live to see tomorrow, especially with Richard Parker on the
lifeboat. This is when Pi s animal instincts kicked in and mirrored that of the tiger s.
The animal inside of him, and his survival instincts ended up plainly evident in his
battle for survival.
In the poem The Tyger, the animal theme is exhibited through the narrator s
relentless questions of the tiger. In the poem it says, What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry? (23 24). This happens to be the narrator s way of
asking who would dare to create an animal so vicious and dangerous. Throughout the
poem, the speaker asks various questions about the ferocity of the creature. Be that as
it may, this is the nature of a tiger. They are wild animals that are dangerous, and act
on instinct.
In the two stories, the animal theme depicted conflicts with civilization. Pi was
forced to abandon his knowledge and behaviour from the civilized life he once led,
in order to embrace his animal instincts and survive. In The Tyger , we can see the
contempt of the speaker while considering the behaviours of the wild animal. By
looking at this similar element from the two stories, it is easier to perceive how the
two cases may be seen. Pi could be looked upon like the tiger, in that they were
similar in their animal ways. Many individuals would not have the strength to do
what Pi

Executive summary
The aim of this report is to develop an audit plan using the 2007/2008 annual reports
of the WesFarmers. This report will provide an understanding of the underlying
concepts of an overall audit strategy. This strategy will bring forward the direction
and scope of the WesfFarmers audit plan. This report will address five major points
these are as follows:
Understanding the entity and its environment
Making preliminary judgements about materiality levels
Considering the audit risk
Understanding internal control structure
Developing preliminary audit strategies for significant assertions
The main source used in planning the audit is the WesFarmer s annual financial

If focusing on the retail industry it involved, such as Coles supermarket, the main
competition comes from its countpart, Woolworth. Coles and Safeway are the two
main retailors in Australia as analysed by Inside Retailing organisation in Australia.
Australia s retail industry has developed to become a leading industry in the national
market as well as in the world market. As this article indicates, all entities in the retail
industry confront pierce competition. Also cited in the article, a 1966 issue of trade
magazine Inside the Food Industry observed that: Woolworths and Coles are now
nearing 10% of total Australian retail sales. They are opening more stores than
anyone else. Up until now, this figure can be much bigger than 10 percent; and the
competition between retailers is increasingly intense.
Therefore, the auditor should reasonably expect some financial difficulties for
Wesfarmers retail industry. Also, by checking Wesfarmers trade journals, and some
industry statistics prepared by government and/or some private agencies, or previous
data accummulated by the auditor s firm, the auditor can all get access to understand
Wesfarmers industry conditions.
Another important point is the regulatory environment Wesfarmers involved, which
can have direct economic consequences and affect its accounting and disclosure
requirements (Leung, 2007). The relevant auditing standards can refer to ASA 250. In
this case, Wesfarmers has just take
22. Seinfeld Friends
When Friends first aired in 1994, five years into the original run of Seinfeld, it was
criticized for being a knock off Seinfeld. Although there were significant similarities
between the two shows, there were also vast differences. Seinfeld and Friends were
targeted to two very different audiences, and they represented the relatively new idea
of friendship comedies in different ways. Despite their differences, both Friendsand
Seinfeldportrayed friendship and humanity in relatable ways, and molded friendship
comedies of the future.
When Seinfeld first aired in 1989, it was simultaneously revolutionary and
traditional. Like many sitcoms before it, Seinfeld featured a three camera setup and a
laugh track, and it was built around a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For one, Seinfeld depicted life in New York City(and in general) more sarcastically
and cynically than Friends, and had a specific focus on Jewish New York culture
and life. In this manner, Seinfeld risked alienating the Middle America
demographic, which, at the time, made up a strong majority of television viewers.
Seinfeld also utilized meta theatricality and meta humor, which were often about
the show itself and its creators, as well as inside jokes, which could be daunting to
viewers who were not already familiar with the series. It was also generally a less
warm show than series like Friends, and its humor was more specific and sarcastic,
which meant it was less generally accessible. This was, however, part of Seinfeld s
draw. As much as Seinfeld may have been about a group of awful people, it was
also about a group of misanthropic friends who all recognized the awful things about
each other, and accepted each other all the same. One of the most relatable things
about Seinfeld was its focus on minutia, as that is so often what daily life and
friendship is all about a series of little, seemingly insignificant
23. Positive Attitude
People say that a positive attitude is the key to success. My grandma always told
me that she had a negative attitude towards love. It seems strange I know but she
despised couples. She told me that she was jealous of other people, especially her
older siblings. Love was something she was afraid of because she didn t wantto get
broken up with. When she was about 16 she decided that if she got broken up with
that she would just shake it off and wait for the right person to come along. She said
there was no point in having a negative attitude towards something so comforting.
When she was 17, she met my grandpa. They fell in loveand when they were 18 they
got married. If you have a positive attitude, then you can make more friends, have
better job interviews, and learn to cope with rejection from others.
First and foremost, making friends is easier with a positive attitude. In other
words, if someone approaches you and you act mean and hateful then they won t
want to talk to you. I always struggled with making friends. I never know the right
words to say. Making friends is something most people can do because they have
done it since they were little. Whenever we go on our band trips, my friends
always want to talk to the other bands. When we go over to them, I stand there
awkwardly while they start conversations. I always worry that I will say something
and offend someone. Since we first started band I ve gotten a lot better at talking to
people. All it took was me

25. Second Great Awakening Essay
The Second Great Awakening The Second Great Awakening was an event that took
place from the late 1790 s and continued on through the 1840 s and had a major
impact on the youth during that time period. Here, I will discuss what exactly
happened during the Second Great Awakening and how to affected America during
this time, but I will also discuss two figures that were important to this movement,
and what exactly they did that made them so important during this time. The Second
Great Awakening was a movement that centered around religious revivals, much like
the Great Awakening that happened before it in the 1740 s and 1750 s. But, unlike
the first Great Awakening, the second Great Awakening would have more youths join
than the first Great Awakening, according to Burg, Conversion occurred with
adolescents as young as 7 to 13, although most of the converts were older than 13
and the majority were girls (Burg, 1998). These youths, particularly students, would
eventually become inspired to do missionary work, this trend emerging around 1808.
This wish to do missionary work, and particularly missionary work overseas, would
eventually lead to the formation to a new regulatory board, according to Burg, In
response to their request, the association appointed the American Board of
Commissioners for Foreign Missions to provide support (Burg, 1998). But the Second
Great Awakening not only sparked religious movements, but it sparked other
movements that are well known today, such
26. Auteur Director Case Study
2. Make the case for either Hayao Miyazaki or Isao Takahata as an auteur director I
choose the case of Hayao Miyazaki as an auteur director for this essay. First, what
is an auteur director? The word auteur comes from french that means author and
the auteur theory itself is a lens or way of looking at movies that put the director as
the author of the movie. The Auteur Theory argues that a movie represents the
director s passion and vision; thus, movies that are directed by an auteur director
will reeks of their own signature styles which can be found in repetitive and
recognisable patterns, themes, and in some cases visual (in our case is art) that
will give the audience hints as who is the director of the movie. It is pretty rare to
find an auteur director these days because usually to be able to be an auteur director,
a director has to have a full control, from the cast, the visual and the music, of the the
movie that they make. Most producers don t give directors that kind of full control.
There s not a lot of auteur directors that make it big in the movie industry. Think of
Quentin Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, Christopher Nolan. They are a few of the most
famous auteur directors... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First and foremost is the big amount of time and effort Miyazaki spend on a
project. One of the most surprising thing is that he creates his own storyboards
without any intervention from external parties. That means he can unleash 100%
of his creativity to his works. Second, in addition to creating his own storyboard,
he will then review every single animation cell that come out from the storyboard.
It s not a rare occurrence that he will re do the animation cells if he deems that the
artist s work is not up to his standard and the animation cell cannot properly depict
his vision4. This way, Miyazaki has total control of all story and visual that appear in
the final cut of the

The Indians interactions with the French, English, and the Spanish varied
depending on the wants and needs of the new settlers. The French embraced the
Indian culture in order to maintain a good trade relationship. The English used
more of a forceful tactic, forcing the Indians violence. The history of North
America centers around the struggle of England, France, and Spain to gain control
of the continent. Settlers and their governments used different approaches on their
efforts to colonization. These differences lead to advantages and disadvantages
that resulted in the New World s fate. France and Spain were governed by
sovereigns whose rule was absolute. The English colonists were able to govern
themselves and had plenty of freedom as long as they followed English law and
were loyal to the king. England strengthened immigration from other nations,
unlike France and Spain. By 1763, the English have defeated France and Spain in
the French and Indian War establishing dominance over North America. October of
1492, Christopher Columbus and his men landed in the Bahamas Islands.
Columbus was originally sent by the king and queen of Spain to Asia, in search for
gold and spices. He was also promised a share of the profit. They were greeted
generously by the natives with food and gifts by a tribe known as the Arawak. Their
kindness led him to believe they would be fine servants and saw them as less than
human. He immediately built a fortress. Columbus and his men went from

29. An Analysis Of Eddie Slovik s Desertion In World War Two
Eddie Slovik s Desertion in World War Two The largest conflict in human history
is World War Two with an estimated 70 million fatalities. The United States had
around 16.1 million people who served in the armed forces during this time. A
small few of those who served decided they couldn t or wouldn t serve anymore
and deserted. The Cambridge Dictionary defines a deserter as a person who leaves
the armed forces without permission and with no intention of returning. What
would motivate a person to desert? What were the consequences of their actions?
These questions are often overlooked as it is seen as an act of cowardice. The
desertion of Private Eddie Slovik provides an open eyed look at the cause and
consequence of the act. It is extraordinary that the desertion rate was so low
compared to the number of serving soldiers and the horrific conditions most found
themselves in. Charles Glass wrote that there were 50,000 U.S. and 100,000 British
soldiers who deserted during WWII. While thousands were convicted of desertion,...

30. The Language Is Forever Forgotten
Imagine a little native boy who grows up in a culture and with a language that is
only common to his tribe. For him this sole language is sufficient because the tribe is
his family and as long as he can communicate with them nothing else matters.
Suddenly his tribe starts to speak more English and is becoming westernized. Others,
including his own family, start ignoring their culture and raising their children
differently. Flash forward years on he is the only one that can speak his languageand
he feels alone. He just wishes that his tribe had taught their children, their native
language, just so he would have someone to talk to. Instead the language will die
with him and in this sense, so does the culture. No one will ever be able to translate
anything from his tribe and his descendants will know nothing. The language is
forever forgotten. While this scenario may seem farfetched for many 21st century
Americans, this is the reality for many individuals who speak an uncommon language
around the world. It s becoming an issue in the linguisticscommunity, who want to
preserve these dying languages. Language is the way we all communicate and it s a
sneak peek into the past and different cultures. Many linguistic scholars believe we
need to preserve languages now for the future generations. The sad thing is if there
are not a change soon, almost 6,000 languages will most likely go extinct (Hitt).
Moreover, it s not just an international ordeal language extinction is
31. Evolutionary Differences In X-Men
X Men (2000) is the first movie in the X Men film series, following a group of
mutants who are born with unique genetic mutations that manifest as a range of
superpowers such as telepathy, shape shifting and weather manipulation. Despite this
film being highly entertaining and engaging, it is rife with ideas that conflict with
evolutionary principles, such as natural selection, which many evolutionary biologists
support.
A common misconception of the theory of evolution is that organisms are evolving to
be superior to previous species and continuously developing new adaptations that are
better , with the human species considered the best current evolution (Understanding
Evolution, 2018). This misconception that evolution results in progress is prevalent
throughout the X Men film, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contrastingly, evolutionary scientists believe that evolution takes place over
thousands of years, and although natural selection does result in improved
adaptations to survive and reproduce in select environments (Wallace, 2007), this
does not mean we can quantify species as better or worse . The notion of the
development of an overall better species can be considered impossible when it comes
to evolution. Environmental niches of individual species can differ immensely;
therefore we cannot select which traits are better overall, due to large ranges of
selective pressures that make different traits more suitable in different environments
(Gregory, 2009). As an example, though humans are misconceived as the most
evolved species, in a fully aquatic environment, other species, for example a
clownfish, have a higher chance of survival and reproduction. Hence, a clownfish,
ape, or bug is just as evolved as humans, only in different directions. Moreover,
environments are constantly changing in regards to their climate, resource
availability, species composition and physical structure; therefore, an organism with
adaptations that are beneficial in one context, may be
32. Quagga And Zebra Mussels
If a boat is not properly cleaned within those three to five days, the quagga and
zebra mussels will be spread if the boat is used in a different water (CISR). Why
are they a nuisance? Quagga mussels eat a diet that is similar to zebra mussels .
This creates two nonnative species competing for food that, once is bigger, is used
by native mollusks and small fish. Quagga mussels are the tougher nonnative mollusk
species in the United States. Quagga mussels can survive and deeper and colder
waters than zebra mussels. Quagga mussels can also attach themselves to soft
surfaces like mud. Zebra mussels can only attach themselves to hard surfaces.
Quagga mussels colonize in more condensed groups and will beat out zebra mussels
for a food source. These mussels also attach themselves to drainage and plumbing
pipes, clogging them.

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife, CPW, is doing everything that they can to
control aquatic nuisance species. Regular boat inspections before entering a body
of water and educating boaters are major ways of controlling ANS. Before entering
a body of water that is regulated by the state, a boater must get a thorough boat

for the boat to be allowed into the water, the angler must stop by the boat inspection

boat. Because zebra mussels, quagga mussels, and New Zealand mud snails can

boat and trailer must be checked (NEW SOURCE). When asked about how the CPW

34. Similarities Between Ophelia And Gertrude
Shakespeare s tragic Hamlet depicts a society ruled by a patriarchal power structure
with a strong influence on female norms. Both Ophelia and Queen Gertrude reject
their established and internalized norms of the society they live in, creating chaos for
both as individuals and society as a whole. Their ability to create such upheaval
within their society relates in accordance to the amount of power they each hold
within their traditional power structure; in a traditional reading of Hamlet, Ophelia
and Gertrudelack such power as persons who find protection within the established
system. However, Shakespeare is ultimately sympathetic to the women of the play,
depicting their downfalls as a direct result of the men in the play. Ophelia is
characterized as the embodiment of cherished femininity in Shakespeare s Hamlet;
she thrives within the protective walls of a system that protects her, yet challenges
the power structure through her own agency. In Hamlet s society, the ideal female
is cherished for her youth, beauty, and purity. These qualities are appreciated as
internalized social mores in such socialization that creates boundaries to protect
Ophelia. She is praised in their society for her compliance, beauty, and purity by
even the other female character in the play, Gertrude, when she says, Ophelia, I do
wish that your good beauties be the happy cause of Hamlet s wildness/ so shall I
hope your virtues will bring him to his wonted ways again , (III.i.39 43). In such a
36. Comparing Schmitt s And Arendt s Theory Of The Political
Ruling a society has taken many forms, be it the the cruel hand of dictator or the
frantic shared thoughts of democracy; an organized state can arguably be ruled by
only one end of the spectrum. To conceptualize this view, philosophers Schmitt and
Arendt present their interpretations on the political. The central thesis to my paper is
then, to present both Schmitt s and Arendt s conceptof the political and discern which
is the most viable from of governing. Schmitt s structure of the political rest in the
friend enemy distinction dictated by the sovereign. Opposite his view is Arendt,
who perceives the political existing with the masses so as to ensure happiness exist.
In today s political climate the oscillation between these two views is the masses
believe in Arendt s theory, while in actual practice of power, Schmitt s view is
currently exercised. The political is then argued as either an autocratic regime or a
democratic government. Where Arendt agues for the later, it s feasibility is highly
improbable. Schmitt s concept of the former, though practiced today, is not
completely correct but, presents the best form of rule. The order of a state is best
ruled by a sovereign so as to allow the country to realize it s full capabilities. For
Schmitt the political exist where a sovereign dictates the polity, recognizing the moral
distinction of a group form others and reconciling extreme differences through
violence; thus a friend enemy distinction exists that acts as a

Blah blah blah something about an article I find. The federal reserve in simple
terms is the central bank for the United States. In a more in depth description of the
the Fed it is made up of the Board of Governors. This board is made up of seven
members, all selected by the President himself. However, they also need to be
confirmed by the Senate. This board is located in Washington D.C. but has 12
regional banks around the country. Some of these places include San Francisco,
Philadelphia, Minneapolis, and nine other locations. These banks allow the Federal
Reserve to collect data on the current economy. Obtaining this information allows the
Federal Reserve to gauge the economy and create an appropriate monetary policy.

So, making the discount rate lower will allow the banks to have a lower interest
rate, encouraging spending and borrowing. On the opposite of this if the interest
rates were higher than this would discourage the spending and loans. The second
of the three major tools that The Fed uses would be reserve requirements.
According to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis reserve requirements are the
portions of deposits that banks must hold in cash, either in their vaults or on
deposit at a Reserve Bank (In plain English, 2017, p.15). This works by by
determining how much money is needed in the bank at any given time. This would
mean that if The Feds decreased the requirement, then the commercial banks will
have more money to give out and put into businesses. However, if they end up
raising the required amount then then this would decrease spending in businesses
this would be because the Reserve Bank would not have the money to give the
commercial banks which would then be passed on to the people. The third and final
tool that The Feds use is open market operations. This also happens to be the most
used out of the three. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis open
market operation is the buying and selling of U.S. government securities (In plain
English, 2017, p.15). What this does to the economy is that it allows the discussion
for the federal funds rate. Ultimately meaning that this has control over what the
interest rates are on

Neisseria meningitides. Penicillin was first used to combat meningitis in 1944, and

Nesseria meningitides is heterotrophic and reproduces by way of binary fission (12).
Viral meningitis is more common, but not nearly as severe (8). It is hardly ever
fatal and mostly caused by enteroviruses. Other viruses can induce a person to
contract viral meningitis. These include: mumps, herpes, measles, and varicella
zoster. Even an infection from a mosquito bite could potentially turn into a case of
viral meningitis (4)! Fungal meningitis, which can also be deadly, is mostly caused
by Cryptococcus and Candida. The people affected with fungal meningitis are mostly
those who have an inadequate immune system (3). A person may not know he or she
has meningitis right away. Many symptoms are analogous to the flu. These symptoms
include a stiff neck, headache, fever, chills, nausea, light sensitivity, and possible
changes in mental state (8). Even after a person recovers from meningitis, they can
still suffer from long term effects such as brain damage, kidney damage, loss of
hearing, amputations, and scarring (6). To accurately diagnose meningitis, a lumbar
puncture, or spinal tap, is performed and tests are run on the cerebrospinal fluid
39. Why Lacrosse Should Be A Professional Sport
Everyone loves the popular professional sports like baseball and football, so why
should people not be able to see what lacrosse players can do? Young kids in the
world can be encouraged like other kids in other sports to play. People in the world
might have more athletes to look up to. Players who want to play lacrosseall of their
life will have a chance at getting into the professional s and they can see how good
they have become. Clearly, lacrosse should become a professional sport.
Young kids will be encouraged like other kids in other sports to play lacrosse. The
reason most kids are wanting to play popular sports is because they can see people
and be encouraged by them. People who are young lacrosse players want to go to a
game but they never know where to find one because people don t know where they
are played. Lacrosse should be a professional sport because it is dominating with
popularity and the population is increasing fast. Many quotes are stated to build up
the encouragement like Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common
vision. It is the fuel that allows common people to achieve uncommon results. this
quote tells young players that they can be better than they ever thought they could be.

40. Nuclear Power And The Atomic Bomb
One of the major technological break though in the late 19th and early 20th century
was the birth of atomic fission, between 1895 and 1945. In WWII, the men of
science applied this new knowledge to create the atomic bomb. Only few years after
the war in 1956, this cognition was applied to make new power plants, fueled by the
new energy source uranium. (pg1 World Nuclear Association)
Today, as much as we know about nuclear power is one of the most powerful and
fresh energy, compared to any carbon dioxide producing fuels like coal or oil. It is
a very cost effective cheap source, but with a major downside. Obtaining it is a
rather complex chemical procedure, and the outcome is not only precious power, but
also hazardous waste. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

side effect which is still affecting our life today. Based on the report, more than 2.3

of the radioactive byproduct would fill up the early Bush Stadium. (pg 3 St. Louis

Twelve Tables
April 26, 2017
The Twelve Tables Though the Twelve Tables are not widely known, they played a
large role in establishing the early Roman government. Not only were they the first
set of written laws in the Roman empire, the Twelve tables bound the Plebeian and
Patrician empires to the the same set of regulations. The Twelve Tables inspired other
nations at the time to form an organized system and regions around the world still use
the basic fundamentals of the laws.
The Twelve Tables were first introduced to the Roman empirein 455 BC. The
Plebeian and Patrician empires appointed a council of ten men to form a set of rules
that bound their people. The council was called the Decemviri. Together, the... Show

The fifth table says that any woman, whether or not maintained majority, should be
in the custody of a man at all times. If the father and husband are deceased she will
be in custody of her brother until remarried.
The sixth table only contains one law which states when a property owner sells his
land, the sell is binding and the land cannot be taken back by the original seller,
unless repurchased a year after the buyer removes his previous crops. On the same
tablet, table seven is found. Table seven states that if a tree from another land falls
on your land, you are able to take legal action and cut it down, or harvest the fruit
from the side of the tree that is on your property. If the fruit is not on your property,
however, the owner of the tree is able to put you in debt until the fruit is returned or
paid back for. Table seven also says that the roads should be paved by managers of
the city and any unpaved roads are legal to drive on without regulation.
Table eight gives rules on injury. If a man hits another free man and brakes his
bone, he owes the man 300 coins. If the bone of a slave is broken, he owes them 50
coins. If the injury affects the man for the rest of his life, the price doubles. It also
stated that if a man is killed at night while robbing a house, the man who killed him
will not be prosecuted. The third law of the table states that any man who purposely
destroys the food

The church was born Multicultural.
I have read this passage of Acts for many years and now I find new teachings about
the church in this modern era. The first community was a multicultural one. That is
the reason what the Bible is amazing for, when we read it seeking with confidence
the answer for our questions, we find it and this come still from the same passage. Do

2 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, It would not be right for
us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.
3 Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the
Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them
4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.
5 This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and
of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from
Antioch, a convert to Judaism.
6 They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.
7 So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly,
and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

A black hole is a point in space where there is extreme gravitational pull, so extreme
that light itself cannot escape. The strength of gravity is so strong due to the fact that
an immense amount of matter has been contained in a small space.
The existence of black holes was first theorized by John Mitchell in 1783. Mitchell
accepted Newton s laws of gravity and suggested that light escaping from the surface
of a star would have its speed reduced due to the gravitation pull of the star, and
therefore if a star s gravitation pull was strong enough even light would not be able
to escape.[1] Using the approximate speed of light he reasoned that if an object was
approximately 500 times the mass of the sun light would not be able ... Show more

As this matter spirals into the black hole it creates what is known as an accretion disk,
which accelerates and heats up emitting X rays which can then be detected by
astronomers.[6]
Furthermore existence that black holes exist comes from the observations of
astronomers of bursts of energy which are detected and then lost. An event horizon
is an area of space around a black hole for which nothing can escape, once an object
or any matter crosses this event horizon the gravity of the black hole will be too
strong for it to escape. As a cloud of gas swirls and nears a black hole, the gases
heat up and will emit x rays. Astronomers have observed instances of several burts
of x rays being detected and then disappearing at areas where black holes are
thought to be found. This may be caused by the gases emitting x rays and then
crossing the event horizon and disappearing forever. The observations of these bursts
of energy are useful for astronomers in finding black holes.
GX 339 4, illustrated here, is among the most dynamic binaries in the sky, with four
major outbursts in the past seven years. In the system, an evolved star no more
massive than the sun orbits a black hole estimated at 10 solar masses. [5]
However the strongest evidence of black holes comes from our

45. Cause And Effect Of Smoking
When most people think about the negative effects caused by smoking, they usually
associate it with breathing problems and lung cancer. It has been proven that
smoking is also a major cause of heart disease for men and women. The Surgeon
General s Warning states Smoking causes lung cancer, heart disease, emphysema,
and may complicate pregnancy. It has also been labeled as the leading preventable
cause of disease and death in the United States. With around 20 percent of deaths
related to heartdisease being caused from smoking, it is important to look at how
smoking causes heart disease, what types of heart disease arise from smoking and
the possibility of reversing the damage after smoking cessation. The term heart
disease is often also referred to as cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease is
the narrowing or blockage of blood vessels that can lead to a heart attack, chest pain
or stroke. There is a drug in cigarettes known as nicotine which causes increased
blood pressure and heart rate. This is turn, results in your heart requiring more
oxygen to keep pumping. Some of the most common types of heart disease associated
with smoking are coronary arterydisease, peripheral artery disease, and strokes are
also a major risk factor. It is possible to prevent or treat these forms of heart disease
with the decision to practice a healthy lifestyle. Coronary artery diseaseis one of the
most common heart diseases associated with smoking. With coronary artery disease,
46. The Rise Of Fear By Marilynne Robinson
Faltering Faithfulness: The Rise In Fear
Fear is often characterized as an irrational sense of negativity toward the unknown
or the unlikeable. In the eyes of many Americans, the majority of whom proclaim
their Christian beliefs, this sensation is considered unavoidable. Marilynne
Robinson argues in her article Fear , published by The New York Review of Books
in 2015, that ...first, contemporary America is full of fear. And second, fear is not a
Christian habit of mind (Robinson 1). In other words, it is unchristian to fear. In both
the beginning and conclusion, she clearly expresses credibility through her extensive
credentials and strong emotional arguments; however, this is overshadowed by the
wordiness, sarcasm, and lack of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robinson s use of her intelligence and lengthy career helps build an image of
reliability within her argument initially. However, as citing facts soon turns to
reciting history as if directly from a textbook, her wealth of knowledge becomes
exhausting. Focus changes numerously from fear, to gun rights, to ever changing
religious views in the nation, and her argument lacks the clarity that it began with. In
her effort to almost brag about how well read she is, Marilynne completely loses
sight of the purpose and the attention of the reader.
Robinson emphasizes some her argument on employing logical persuasion to
counteract her shortcomings in credibility. It s frequent that events in history can
repeat themselves, and understanding the implications of past actions helps to
prevent future mistakes. Fear is an emotion that is, in our society today,
unavoidable. Yet, this is precisely what creates an atmosphere of political or social
unrest within the nation and abroad. Because, it serves as a tool by which ideas
can be spread or perhaps forced down upon those easily convinced. She cites guns
as being a prime example of this case, saying: gun sales stimulate gun sales, and
when people see weapons, they have every reason on earth to fear the worst (4
Robinson). Fear is better described as being contagious . As the threat of violence,
for example, increases, the perceived need for violence in retaliation increases. The

promoted because of their high performance and the value they added to the
organization (Kraft Heinz, Careers , 2015). Merit based pay is based on individual
performance. This method of pay and raises creates a link between rewards and the
employee s performance throughout the year. A danger of merit based pay, in
organizations like Kraft Heinz Co., is that management might give merit based raises

Pinky the Dolphin
Pinky is a bottlenose dolphin. It is completely normal, except for the fact that it s
pink. The social media has been going crazy since Pinky s last sighting on
September 9th, 2015. Pinky isn t the first pink dolphin, and probably won t be the

Pinky was first sighted in June 2007 in Louisiana waters as a dolphin calf following
its mother. This time, it has been accompanied by another grey bottlenose dolphin.
This means that they are mating, and leads to the speculation that Pinky is a female.

Some people claim that it has a rare genetic disorder, and not albinism. That isn t
proved. Others say that it is an Amazon River Dolphin, but its skin is smooth and
splotch free, unlike the Amazon River Dolphin. Albinism is rare in animals, but
possible. It occurs when the cells responsible of making the pigment melanin fail
to produce enough, or at all. This is usually because of a deformation in a gene(s).
Pinky s dolphin might have both been normal, gray bottlenose dolphins, but each
carrying a gene with this deformation, and that probably led to Pinky s unusual
colour. This isn t the first time an albino dolphin was sighted. Carolina Snowball
was a popular albino bottlenose dolphin displayed at the Miami Seaquarium in the
early 1960 s. During the summer of 1994 in Little Lake near New Orleans,
Louisiana an all white dolphin was spotted in a group of 4 5 individuals, but was
only seen for 20 to 30 minutes and never seen again. Another all white dolphin calf
was first observed in a group of more than 40 dolphins south of Galveston, Texas in
September 2003. Albinism in marine animals is extremely rare; there have been only
14 recorded sightings of albino bottlenose dolphins since
