UNITY WORKFLOW
THE TASK INTRODUCTION 
On this assignment we were tasked with 
completing a 3D map on the Unity engine using 
various textures and browsing to find individual 
props to add to our terrain, this was then used 
to create our desired theme which for mine 
would a medieval city.

In this image I 
begin to model 
the terrain 
using various 
brushes and 
increasing to a 
bigger brush 
size to 
ef ficiently and 
quickly create 
my landscape. 
MODELLING TERRAIN
On these 
images I show 
adding 
dif ferent 
textures to the 
brush so it 
then can be 
painted onto 
the landscape. 
ADDING TEXTURE
FULLY TEXTURED TERRAIN 
Here I show 
the basic 
interpretation 
of what the 
terrain wi l l 
look l ike 
having two 
segments 
being a grass 
terrain and 
rock terrain.

making 
changes to it 
through 
photoshop.
ADDING TEXTURE TO THE TERRAIN 
Here I show 
the texture 
that I chose 
and impor ted, 
which as you 
can see I 
began to use 
that to apply 
to the terrain
USING AND SAVING A TEXTURE WITH A 
Here on 
these 
images I 
used a 
texture 
editor which 
al lows you 
to create a 
variety of 
di f ferent 
textures 
and then 
saving them 
to my task 
folder.

houses so I 
can begin to 
bui ld upon 
my medieval 
town 
separating it 
into 4 
por tions to 
walk around.

ADDING BUILDINGS TO THE CITY

work on the 
other 
sections of 
the town 
where you 
can see the 
arrow 
indicates my 
progress on 
the stables 
area.

into detail by 
adding props 
including 
barrels, crates 
and large 
bricks.

horses and 
water troughs 
to indicate 
that l ivestock 
wi l l be kept

placing various

the shrines to

around the

it, this is 
where I wi l l 
star t adding 
destroyed

a broken wal l 
surrounding 
them.

Af ter getting the 
main par t of the 
ruined town 
complete I then 
star t to add 
detailed props to 
it so I can give 
the place a bit 
more real ism to 
it. I done this by 
adding wooden 
barricades 
around the 
entrance.

tents and 
campfires 
inside the 
ruins to 
indicate that 
people try 
rebuild inside 
the ruined 
town.

this is to 
indicate that 
they have 
been posted 
there to 
guard the

KING SKELETON REMAINS AND THRONE

skeleton in 
gold armour 
and holding a 
spear and 
gold shield 
laying to a 
knocked 
down chair, 
this is 
suppose to 
indicate the 
king of the 
ruined town 
next to his 
throne.
Moving back 
to the 
medieval 
town I 
replace al l 
the wal ls and 
towers with 
better 
detailed 
constructs, 
also adding a 
few smal l 
props around 
it aswell.

repositioning

retexturing

result of the 
medieval city 
and ruined 
town I 
created, this 
includes four 
sections to 
the city and 
the 
encampment 
within the 
ruins.
