This document provides instruction on forming and using the present perfect tense in English. It begins by reviewing regular and irregular past participles. It then covers forming affirmative and negative statements and yes/no and wh- questions in the present perfect using auxiliary verbs have and has. Examples are provided to illustrate using the present perfect to talk about events that began in the past but continue in the present with time expressions like "for" and "since". Distinctions between "for" indicating length of time and "since" indicating a point in time are explained. Exercises are included for students to practice forming questions and answers in the present perfect. Homework assignments are provided to reinforce the lesson.
