Rules:
1.When a suffix is added to words ending in a consonant “e”: imagine, the “E” is usually
dropped: imaginating.
2. The exception to this is with the suffix: “ment” where the “E” is not dropped :
manage/management.

1. The verb love can be followed by a gerund or infinitive with no difference in a
meaning. The verb like, hate, prefer, begin, and star follow the same rule as
love.
2. The verb remember can also be followed by gerund or infinitive, but the
