Social media
platform
Name ideas:
Pic-a-holic
Pic-winks
Colour scheme:
Black and white, along with font that
would make it easy to read yet look
interesting.
Purple and white will work well as they will
also help to make it look more bold
Slogan:
Connecting the world through
photos.
Target audience:
Ages between 13-60 due to it
containing content that will
appeal to them. They can be
either male or female and will
appeal to all genders and be
tailored to what they like. This
is due to the fact that it will
contain content that will
appeal to them around that
age range. The reason the age
range isn’t lower is because it
may contain contain not
appropriate for them such as
advertisement that would
appeal for older ages. The
reason its not aimed at those
aged older then 60 is because
it may not appeal to them and
may not understand how to
use it very well.

Hand drawn drafts
This will be the design for my social media website. It contains the home page,
profile page, and the sign up page. It also contains some small details to give of what
it will look like when it is in operational use.
Photoshop drafts
• These are my Photoshop drafts for the design of the social media website.
They are very similar to the hand drawn drafts and are just the basic
layout of what the website will be like. I am hoping to maintain the look of
the website just like this therefore I will try and follow the layout of the
design as best as I can without making too many changes.

Logo ideas
• This is my logo design, it is of
a camera with a martini glass
next to it. The camera is
meant to symbolise the ‘pic’
while the martini glass is the
‘a-holic’ of the name of the
social media website.
What will the product offer
• The product will offer the audience a way of
communicating people around the world through posting
images on their time lines of the recent events they have
been too. You would also be able to put send messages
to the person through their images to express how you
feel about the image. You would also be able to like or
dislike it and also put it to your favourites through
selecting the icons next to the image. You are also able to
search people so you are able to directly see their posts
and request to follow them.
Form and style
• The font for the social media platform is separated into 2 font types.
The font for the title of the social media platform is in ‘Brush script
STD’. This is because the font gives the title a more free flowing style
which is what I would like my social media to be like as its about
freedom of speech and being able to express yourselves through
images. The font for the main writing is in ‘DIN Alternate’. This font
helps to make the writing look clear and easy to read without it
looking too boring and basic where some fonts are like that.
Login page
• The login page will feature the
basic that would be on any
other social media platform. It
would contain fill boxes to put
in your username, email, date
of birth, pass word as well as if
you accept the terms and
conditions. This helps because it
it allows users to make a secure
account and yet have the
freedom to express themselves
as much as they want.
Profile page
• The profile page will feature 2 tabs, your own
images and favourites. Favourites will contain
all the images you have selected you favourite
whether it be from your own images or
others. It will also feature all customizable
features which will allow you to make your
profile more personal to the user. It will
feature your name at the top along with
username as well as your profile picture next
to it.
Home page
• The home page will feature the name
of the website along with the main
part of the page which is where all
the content will be located. It is
where your feed is from the users
you follow and it will allow you top
react to it through the icons that
allow you to like or dislike it along
with the favourites icon. This is to
help bring forth more honesty and
see which people like and those who
may not.
Conclusion
• To conclude, this learning outcome is about the
designing stage of a social media website and
how it will all come into fruition. It contains the
mind map which is where ideas are discussed and
which ones could be used and ones which would
not be appealing. It also contains layout plans
which will help out when creating the website as
that will be the basis when following it. In the end
I went with Pic-a-holic as the final idea due to it
being different from other works and yet will still
appeal to users.
