4. Purpose - What will the product
offer/do?
For my final production site, I chose to go with the idea for ‘ScreenShare’. This is
because I feel that this is going to be the newer, more sociable ways of social media.
The name ‘ScreenShare’ was designed to easily convey what it is about. ‘Screen’ was in
reference to the screen that the users will use to call one another. The word ‘Share’
was in reference to the sharing that users will do when calling one another.
ScreenShare will allow anybody who signs up for free to type a message, phone
through a video and socialize altogether. The site will make its money through the use
of advertisement. From this other companies will pay my site for advertisements to be
passed through so people who have signed up for the site will be able to see the
products of other companies through my social site.
Another way my site will make its money is through members payment. By this,
members have a choice to pay the site for extra content to add to their personal
membership. For example members can pay money for an ‘effect package’, which can
allow the users to have effects over their video-chats so make the chat more fun and
appealing.
5. Font Styles
Here are some font styles I
accessed through daFont.com.
I chose this website because it
has a wide range of fonts
which can be used to help find
a font to suit the social site.
These are the fonts I chose for
the first idea ‘ScreenShare’.
Out of all these different fonts,
I have decided to use the font
‘Molot’ (circled). This is
because it is easy to read, eye-
catching and simple.
6. Colour Scheme
The colours I will be using for my social site will be the colours of red, green and white.
This is because these types of colours are complementary, and are eye-catching.
I think that it is important to also have these colours because these colours are not
regularly used colours for a social site.
This helps to keep fans of the website to instantly know what social site they are
talking about.
This is because of Facebook and Twitter, they used the the colour blue and their
colours are easily spotted globally by many people who know about their sites

7. Hand-Drawn Draft
Here is the hand-drawn draft for my first
idea for the website.
The colour within the site helps to make
the page become more interesting. This
is the homepage for people who have
signed in.
This homepage will stay the same for
people who are members because it will
save the public time rather than signing
in all the time. If they did want to sign
out, then it would take them to the ‘sign
up’ page.
I have kept the sight simple because it
will allow members to easily to get
involved with what they will be doing.

demonstrates what will be
included within both
pages much more clearly.

10. Launch Date
The launch date I have chosen for my social site
is going to be January 1st 2017. This is because it
is at the beginning of the new year. This can be
used to the advantage for users to get an official
date of when the site will be launched.
This is also allowing enough time for the website
to be created and checked as a deadline so the
site can run smoothly.
11. Production Plan
Here is a detailed plan over the last
two weeks of November 2016 to
create the social website. It conveys
what will be done throughout each
and every day for the deadline on
Monday 5th December 2016. Keeping
to the production plan will help to
keep everything in order and setup
the social media more efficiently
giving everyone jobs to do. I have left
it quite late to the year to give the
team time to gather up the
resources.
12. WaSP Web Standards
The Web Standards Project (WaSP)
fights for standards that reduce the
cost of development and increase
the accessibility and long-term
viability of any site published on the
internet.
This site can be very helpful into
helping ScreenShare because it can
help save money for the site, which
makes it more likely for it to get off
the ground.
WaSP increases how long the site
will be put up for over the internet as
well. This will be helpful to get even
more users and exposure for
ScreenShare. This is because of
founder Tim Berners-Lee, who made
the company and the site, wanted to
recommend technologies that would
enable sites to remain open,
interoperable and accessible.

13. W3C Guidelines
ScreenShare must abide by the
guidelines made by W3C. It explains
that users cannot use certain
content, such as images and clips
directly.
However, pages of my site can
include equivalent information such
as visual or auditory content.
For example, if a mouse were to
hover over a hyperlink, a small box
will reveal what the hyperlink will
link them too.
This can be helpful for viewers using
ScreenShare because it can help
identify where certain links can take
them if they are unsure about the
link and are in need of help.

14. GIFs
GIFs have been brought to social
media to make the sites more fun
and enjoyable for users.
For example, Facebook have
introduced a GIF option when
messaging friends. By clicking on the
GIF the user can send a gif image to
the friend.
This has also been considered as
another example of advertising – for
example the upcoming movie
‘Finding Dory’ had many GIFs that
were able to be accessed by users to
send to one another.
This links to ScreenShare because I
can use GIFs due to how popular
they are when messaging friends.
15. Katz
The sites were made for
viewers to ‘personally identify’
with each other over the
internet to socialize. Which will
be good in my social site
because it can help to bring
people together through social
media
Maslow
This is important for the social
sites because it can help
people to become ‘social
climbers’ as people will be
using the site to connect with
others and have the ability to
follow and stay updated with
news – such as celebrities. For
example there will be a News
Feed where the user will be
able to share information and
see what others have shared.
16. Hartley
The target age range for all of
these sites is for people who are
13 and above.
This is because it is appealing to
the generation who use social
sites a lot. This site is also to be
known for any gender, it will not
keep to the stereotypical look of a
specific gender.
It is all the same age range for
every idea that I have for all these
sites because this is the age-range
that is within the target audience
my social sites are related to.
Socio-economic
Needs
Relating my range of social sites
economic needs to the Social Grade
Table, the sites focus will be BC1DE. This
is because the target audience meets the
needs that are based around this socio-
economic needs table and are the types
of classes that use this type of social
media.
17. Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions are rules that the users must abide by in order to make
sure each and every user accept the rules against abuse of the site.
Within the terms and conditions it explains in detail:
• If users do not follow the sites rules their account, the account can be deleted
• If posts are made with content rights they don’t own, the account can be
deleted
• If users spam other users, the account can be deleted
The terms will be sent to the users when signing up to the site, if the user is
unable to agree to the terms and conditions then the user will not be able to
make an account at all.
This is similar to all of the social sites I have taken the inspiration from. This is
most likely due to how popular these sites are and the fact these sites do not
want to end up on the wrong side of the law.

18. The Home/Facebook/Twitter
buttons are hyperlinks to the
social media sites and the
homepage.
The User-box is where the
user can log out and see their
active profile picture.
Profile Page/Homepage
The Contacts Bar allows the user to see their friend’s
profiles. If they are filling up the column too much, then
the user can scroll down to find their certain friend. To
make finding friends quicker, the user can add them to
their favorites, which can be edited in settings, which will
be displayed at the top of their contacts bar.
The News Feed updates the
user on the most recent
news that is out or what
people have found and
would like to share. The
News Feed can be expanded
if a certain feed has
interested the user by simply
clicking on it
The Most latest chat option is displayed next
to the News Feed. This allows the viewer to
continue where they left off on the latest chat
they were having or whether their group chat,
if they have one, is active. If they are
interested, the user will click on it to go to the
contacts/groups chat.
The Settings is clicked on to
change to how the user
would like to see their
account. For example a
feature in the settings can
allow the user to change
their password if they don’t
like it.
The Change Profile Picture
feature allows the user to
change their active picture to
keep friends and family
updated
The advertisement is a
hyperlink to the company’s
official site. If the user is
interested in the advert, one
click can lead them straight
to it.
The user’s Personal message
is also seen. For example in
this case, the user has made
a joke
19. W3C Guidelines
Taken from the inspiration of Facebook,
ScreenShare has included some W3C
Guidelines for users to see the main
outline of their friend’s accounts.
This is helpful for users who are looking
up their friends accounts to find out if
they found their friends who are users on
ScreenShare because the friends account
includes mutual friends of the user to
help identify whether the user knows
them or not.
To make the accounts more personal, the
user can include a cover picture whereby
when the mouse hovers over the
account, the user looking up the friend
can see a picture that the friend has
chosen – this can be changed in the
settings.
20. How the chats work with users
The advertisement is a
hyperlink to the company’s
official site. If the user is
interested in the advert, one
click can lead them straight
to it.
The user’s Friend Profile
Picture is additionally added
when clicked onto the
contact to remind the user
who they are talking to.
The Home/Facebook/Twitter
buttons are hyperlinks to the
social media sites and the
homepage.
The chat is linked when the
user clicks on their friend’s
profile. From here the user
can message the friend.
The call button is next to
where the user types their
messages. This activates the
ScreenShare video chat.
The attach button allows
the user to attach items,
such as pictures, to
message the friend
The friend’s Personal
message is also seen when
the contact is clicked on. For
example in this case, the
user’s friend has a link to a
YouTube video
The User-box is where the
user can log out and see their
active profile picture.
21. Sign In
The tick indicates whether the
user can use what they have put
(for example, the name that the
user has chosen has a tick next to
if indicating it hasn’t been taken
already otherwise there will be a
cross instead)
The username that has been
made up by the user
Email address must be needed in
order to contact the user (for
example if the password is
forgotten, the site can email
them a fresh one)
Password to keep the content
safe – the password must be
typed out again in order to make
sure it is correct and the user can
identify that they know their
password
The Date of Birth conveys that
the user is not underage for this
site – otherwise a cross will be
used and say that the user is not
old enough for this site till they
are 13 years old
The age is an extra feature for the
site and contacts to know
The download button is almost
like a sign up button but to save
time the button signs up the user
and downloads the site to their
computer, phone or tablet
I have decided that users will be
able to sign up via. social media.
This is because for people who
will first sign up for this site may
be find the site more social-
friendly by allowing to sign up
through other social sites(such as
Facebook). Clicking on the logo
will give access for the user to
access their account and link it
with the ScreenShare account.
This can also be useful incase the
user has forgotten their
ScreenShare password and need
to reach their account urgently.
