Disruptions in
the classrooms
Teaching and
Learning Materials
VP-8
Assessment
 Students should complete a page of their teaching report based on the topic that includes
references.
 Have completed the classroom management tasks
 Submit a seating arrangement plan and discussion
 Classroom discussion/ debate on differentiation at TTC
 Completed class/Padlet work
We will be discussing
1. What problems occur in the classroom
2.What to do if they happen
3.How to prevent them
Classroom management
The term refers to the wide variety of skills and
techniques that teachers use to keep students
organized, orderly, focused, attentive, on task,
and academically productive during a class.
When classroom-management strategies are
executed effectively, teachers minimize the
behaviors that impede learning for both
individual students and groups of students,
while maximizing the behaviors that facilitate or
enhance learning.

How disruptive have you been at TTC?
o Very disruptive
o A little disruptive
o Acceptable
o Well-behaved
o Perfect student
I have been a/an acceptable
Because: I was talking to the students and use my smart
phone, also did not pay attention to the teacher well.
 Make a list of common disruptions (problems)
Continually leaving and re-entering class without permission.
Frequently arriving late to class
Talking with others.
Loud and distracting noises.
Sleeping in class.

What does the term disruptive mean to teachers and studying at TTC?
For students, they are not able to understand well and confuse them. For the teacher, make him
non-center in giving the information and inability to deliver to students correctly.
In class
disruptions
How to deal with disruptive students
1. If a student is disruptive during clas, I give extra homework, without further
discussion.
2. I don’t want to impose any rules on my students.
3. The classroom must be quiet in order for students to learn.
4. If a student turns in late homework/ assignment, I will fail him.
5. I don’t want to shout/ punish the students because it may hurt their feelings.
6. I will always try to explain the reasons behind my rules and decisions.
 Select which ones you agree/ disagree with and why.
I AGREE I DISAGREE
1.If a student is disruptive during clas, I give extra
homework, without further discussion.
Because sometimes you will facing some students
they will defiance you as teacher.
3. The classroom must be quiet in order for students
to learn. Because how can the students learn with
noise in the classroom.
6. I will always try to explain the reasons behind my
rules and decisions.
Because must every student know what are the gols
for this rules.
2. I don’t want to impose any rules on my students.
because, the rules must be in every classroom to give
other students in different class an opertunaty to learn.
4. If a student turns in late homework/ assignment, I will
fail him.
Because some students they passed through difficult
circumstances.
5. I don’t want to shout/ punish the students because it
may hurt their feelings.
Because some students consider this as hard frrling to
them. This steps sometime is good and sometimes is
bad.
CLASS DISCUSSION
 How you would deal with the following classroom issues:
Why do you
agree/ disagree?
Minor classroom
disturbances
Being late for
class
No pen, book or
other classroom
materials
Using mobile
phones in class
Change of classroom design and placement
of each student individually.
At the beginning, you must know the
reasons why the student is late for class.
Give him chances the first time and at
other times if they are without reasons,
send them to the administration.
People in their nature are always forgotten,
the teacher must give opportunities to
students when they forget some tools or
books. In case of repetition, they must be
referred to the Department so that they can
assist them.
In the beginning, the teacher must give
the rules to the students in the
classroom. If the phone is used, they
should be alerted again and intimidated
that it will be deducted from the grades.
And in case of repeated problem
referred to the administration, or the
official treatment which is by deduction.
Techniques to overcome classroom challenges
Which ones would you use?

Expectation

level
Most Important
1. Expectation level should meet ability level.
Because the students have ability.
2. Make sure students understand what you want.
Because if the student understands something other than what the teacher has said, it is
possible to make a mistake or to understand the points incorrectly.
3. Make few and reasonable demands.
Because Assigned the students to search for specific information easy to understand the
lesson and develop his skills in research, and also organizes the class.
4. Keep students busy with classroom activities.
Because if the demands of the student a lot of it is possible that the mind of the student
dispersed and cannot focus on a specific point and therefore does not benefit the student.
5. Accept reasonable excuses.
Because sometimes the student passes some conditions outside the will and the teacher must
accept the excuses of the students, but must be the excuse of the student acceptable excuse.
6. Praise the students.
Because praise encourages and encourages the student and improves his style and his way
of understanding the lessons. But if the teacher does not motivate the students, the student is
not interested in the teacher and starts laziness.

CLASSROOM DESIGN
“The way we set up our classroom (seating arrangement, posters on the walls, whiteboard
arrangement) will benefit students and their ability to learn.” (Flagg, 2016)
 Which seating arrangement would you choose? Why?

CLASSROOM TASK
Set up a mini- classroom. Then highlight the reasons behind the set up
and why it would limit classroom disruptions.
I will choose Clusters shape because I think it is the best form because it can
combine the excellent student and the weak student and share information. The
teacher can explain easily and easily.
1- The classroom in the TTC contains some disorders such as disturbing students, sleeping in class,
speaking to each other, and also arranging the form of the tables in the classroom.
2- The best methods used in TTC are the way students sit in groups and rely on the practical
department, research and others.
3- Treat the students as good and consider them brothers or children and include them in groups that
include excellent students and weakly students to exchange information.
TASK
Highlight the main classroom disruptions at TTC/ KSA.
 What methods work best at TTC in solving issues
 What techniques will you use to control your class
 Why is good classroom management vital for successful teaching and learning
 Your work should include a minimum of 2 references.
Teachers play various roles in a typical classroom, but surely one of the most important is that of
classroom manager. Effective teaching and learning cannot take place in a poorly managed
classroom. If students are disorderly and disrespectful, and no apparent rules and procedures
guide behavior, chaos becomes the norm. In these situations, both teachers and students suffer.
Teachers struggle to teach, and students most likely learn much less than they should. In
contrast, well-managed classrooms provide an environment in which teaching and learning can
flourish. But a well-managed classroom doesn't just appear out of nowhere. It takes a good deal
of effort to create and the person who is most responsible for creating it is the teacher.

  • 11. Teachers play various roles in a typical classroom, but surely one of the most important is that of classroom manager. Effective teaching and learning cannot take place in a poorly managed classroom. If students are disorderly and disrespectful, and no apparent rules and procedures guide behavior, chaos becomes the norm. In these situations, both teachers and students suffer. Teachers struggle to teach, and students most likely learn much less than they should. In contrast, well-managed classrooms provide an environment in which teaching and learning can flourish. But a well-managed classroom doesn't just appear out of nowhere. It takes a good deal of effort to create and the person who is most responsible for creating it is the teacher.
