Magazine logo designs using
Dafont (2.1)
Magazine logo designs using
Illustrator (2.1)
Logo design This is my
favourite logo
the reason why I
chose it is
because its very
bright and
stands out very
well is very
colourful and It
will look good on
my front cover
Designing the magazine (1.4,
2.1, 2.2)
Copy right (1.3)
 Copy right is the exclusive and assignable
legal right, given to the originator for a
fixed number of years, to print, publish,
perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or
musical material
1.7 Organising Your Files
these are my files organized
1.6 File Formats
 I will copy my final magazine cover as a Jpeg (Joint photographic Experts Group) ;
reason being is that compress the file to any size of the Jpeg so then the quality will
not be different that the actual copy and DPI (Dots per Inch) will not effect the
Image.
 Advantage is reduce the file size and easier to store and reduces the size of the file
 Disadvantages once saved as edited with the Jpeg it will flatten the logo. Once save
it will lose compression and go pixelated.
 I will also save my final Magazine cover as a PDF (Portable document Format) the
effect is mutual with a Jpeg so the file is flatten and is unable to be re-edited and
saved
 Advantages shortens the file and decreases file size to be more portable and
 Disadvantages can’t be edited the only disadvantage
JPEG format
 Advantages
Small File Size – Ideal for web use and
email.
Varying rates of compression reduce
file size further, at a cost of loss of
original image quality
Recognised file format on all
computers as well as displaying on
digital photo frames, mobile
phones, DVD players etc.
Ideal for small prints such as instant
photo booths.
Can embed colour space profiles as
well as ITPC Metadata
 Disadvantages
Bad compression, as the file is
compressed to save space, it
loses some of the pixels from
the original file data and
therefore decreases image
quality
Further editing on the image can
degrade quality even further.
Due to the file being saved
multiple times
Only suitable for smaller print
output.
PDF format
 ADVANTAGES
it contains all the original
image data as well as any
layers, adjustments and full
image history.
Created in Photoshop very
reliable.
Ideal for use when processing
images as a user can save
the file and then go back
to it at a later date
 Disadvantages
Generally only recognised by
Photoshop software and
certain other image
manipulation software
Large files can be slower to
download than HTML.
The user must have the Adobe
Reader plug-in installed in
order to read the document.
PDF documents are usually
formatted to print vertically,
while monitors are generally
horizontal. The mismatch
causes users to scroll more
often
PSD
 ADVANTAGES
good format for manipulating
and changing images with
control over separate image
channels, layers and paths#
A format created by Adobe for
Photoshop use very reliable to
use since created in
Photoshop.
it contains all the original image
data as well as any layers,
adjustments and full image
history.
 DISADVANTAGES
Only opens in Adobe
Photoshop CS
Is not suitable for a blog or
website and you can’t
always print it
only works within certain
applications, not useful for
display on the web or other
online services
PSD
 I will be using PSD (Photoshop document) the reason we are using
It is because if we need to edit if we can but the file size is to big
to send via email that is why we’re using Jpeg and if the person is
send it to hasn't got Photoshop he/she wont be able to open it so I
will them first to see if they have it.
 1. ]
 2. ONCE SAVED CAN BE CONVERTED TO ORIGINAL FILE
 3.
2.3 How your work meet’s clients
needs
Check that your final images meet the
original client brief and describe why you
think it meets your client’s needs.
Is this image in the correct file format?
Is it high enough quality?
Do the images promote Salford?
