 JPG is a file extension for a lossy graphics file. The JPEG file
extension is used interchangeably with JPG. JPEG stands for
Joint Photographic Experts Group who created the standard.
JPG files have 2 sub-formats, JPG/Exif (often used in digital
cameras and photographic equipment), and JPG/JFIF (often
used on the World Wide Web).
 The JPEG standard specifies the codec, which defines how an
image is compressed into a stream of bytes and decompressed
back into an image, but not the file format used to contain that
stream. The Exif and JFIF standards define the commonly used
formats for interchange of JPEG-compressed images.
 A JPG file consists of a sequence of segments, each beginning
with a marker, each of which begins with a 0xFF byte followed by
a byte indicating what kind of marker it is. Some markers consist
of just those two bytes; others are followed by two bytes
indicating the length of marker-specific payload data that follows.
 JPG files can be opened by most image editing software, from
Microsoft Paint to Adobe Photoshop.

 The TFF file extension is initially made for the capable versions of Macintosh
operating systems. Under the said platform, files of the TFF format are defined as
TrueType Font, which are modules containing alphabet character sets to be used
under its text generating applications. However, due to its wide utility, this system is
adapted by Microsoft for its Windows operating system, making the TFF file format
function under a cross platform performance between the two mentioned operating
systems.
 Under Apple, the TFF file format is strictly only of TrueType Font utility. This library
stores the representation of the alphabet characters, including numbers, symbols
and punctuations. Font styles from Macintosh vary from the available sets for
Windows.
 Files stored under the TFF format can be resized on the screen, according to the
display and manifesting preference of the user. Aside from the main values of the
stored characters, one module with the TFF extension also contains directions on
how the character's dimension are changed under the basic sizes (small, medium,
large) or any desired size that are created in between the possible character
dimensions.
 The TFF file format is also used in storing vector fonts. Files with this extension are
good both for screen display and printing. Under Windows, the sector concerned
with the TFF file format's performance belongs under the Fonts folder in the
Control Panel.
 Aside from the TrueType font utility of the TFF file format, this library is also used
as a Tactical Fill File for form content modules under a certain application for
Windows. For the said utility, the TFF file extension is given to files capable of self-
execution once its corresponding dialogue case are summoned by the system.

 PNG (pronounced ping as in ping-pong; for Portable Network
Graphics) is a file format for image compression
thahttp://searchsoa.techtarget.com/definition/PNGt, in time, is
expected to replace the Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) that is
widely used on today's Internet. Owned by Unisys, the GIF format
and its usage in image-handling software involves licensing or
other legal considerations. (Web users can make, view, and send
GIF files freely but they can't develop software that builds them
without an arrangement with Unisys.) The PNG format, on the
other hand, was developed by an Internet committee expressly to
be patent-free. It provides a number of improvements over the GIF
format.

 Short for "Bitmap." It can be pronounced as "bump," "B-M-P,"
or simply a "bitmap image." The BMP format is a commonly
used raster graphic format for saving image files. It was
introduced on the Windows platform, but is now recognized by
many programs on both Macs and PCs.
 The BMP format stores colour data for each pixel in the image
without any compression. For example, a 10x10 pixel BMP
image will include colour data for 100 pixels. This method of
storing image information allows for crisp, high-quality
graphics, but also produces large file sizes. The JPEG and
GIF formats are also bitmaps, but use image compression
algorithms that can significantly decrease their file size. For
this reason, JPEG and GIF images are used on the Web,
while BMP images are often used for printable images.

 A .PSD file is a layered image file used in Adobe Photoshop.
PSD, which stands for Photoshop Document, is the default
format that Photoshop uses for saving data. PSD is a
proprietary file that allows the user to work with the images’
individual layers even after the file has been saved.
 When an image is complete, Photoshop allows the user to
flatten the layers and convert the flat image into a .JPG, .GIF,
.TIFF or other non-proprietary file format so it can be shared.
Once a PSD image has been flatten by conversion, however,
it cannot be converted back to PSD and the user can no
longer work with the image's layers. It is important, therefore,
so always save the .PSD file and not overwrite it during
conversion.

 Adobe Illustrator is a program used by both artists
and graphic designers to create vector images.
These images will then be used for company logos,
promotional uses or even personal work, both in
print and digital form. So what is Adobe Illustrator
used for? It is typically used to create illustrations,
charts, graphs, logos, diagrams, cartoons of real
photographs, and more. While the program may be
difficult to understand initially, the final product will
be well worth the learning curve.
