The Unified Computing System is a next-generation database platform that Unites compute, network, storage access, and virtualization into a cohesive system
This is an Final Year Project implemented by Er. Anal Prasanna Salshingikar during Diploma in Engineering
2. Introduction:-
The Unified Computing System is a next-generation
database platform that Unites compute, network,
storage access, and virtualization into a cohesive
system
The system integrates a low-latency, lossless 10
Gigabit Ethernet unified network fabric with
Enterprise-class, x86-architecture servers.
The system is an integrated, scalable, multichassis
platform in which all resources participate in a
unified management domain
3. Objectives
The main objective of this project is to
make a “CPU Less World “.
It is designed to reduce total cost of
ownership (TCO) and increases the
organizational and user convenience
No CPU is required only the main host(data
base) will have high-end hardware
configuration
This may contain many terminals as per
organizational requirements which will be
distributed in many groups and sectors.

6. Proposed plan of work
“UCS in College system”
The college is divided into 4 main
groups/sectors
1. Accounts department.
2. Teachers department.
3. Students department.
4. Laboratory department.
continued….
8. (ACCOUNT DEPARTMENT)
The computers (terminals) in Account department will consist:-
1. The general software
2. Original operating system (Windows XP)
3. Accounts related software (Tally)
4. Printer Support
Hardware Configuration for Accounts dept.
a) 32 bit OS
b) 128 Mb RAM
c) 250 Gb HDD
d) 128 Mb Graphics
Some Services will not be present for Accounts
Department.
continued….
9. (TEACHERS DEPARTMENT)
The computers (terminals) in Teachers department will
consist:-
1. The general software
2. Original operating system (Windows 7)
3. No limit Internet Connectivity
4. Access to terminals of students department
Hardware Configuration for Teachers department.
a) 32 bit OS
b) 1 Gb RAM
c) 160 Gb HDD
d) 512 Mb Graphics with audio and video support
continued….
10. (STUDENT DEPARTMENT)
The computers (terminals) in student department will
consist:-
1. The general software
2. Original operating system (Ubantu)
Hardware Configuration for Student’s
department.
a) 32 bit OS
b) 512 Mb RAM
c) 80 Gb HDD
d) 256 Mb Graphics
Some Services will not be present for Students .

13. Behind Output (WORKING)
The UCS involves sharing of hardware resources such
as RAM, Hard disk and many software’s through
virtualization with network Bridging and tunneling
with help of CISCO-IOS (Internetwork Operating
System).
Every user will have a separate terminal, separate
operating system as well as storage but the terminal
will be virtual and all the real resources will shared
from the main data center or HOST. The entire
terminal will work likes a real system with all virtual
resources but a real LAN card which will remotely
access all the configurations from the host through
N- Computing device
14. IMPORTANT POINTS:-
All the groups can be alloted a separate
V-LAN for better security
DHCP- All the terminals will be
autoatically assigned with an ip address
just as plug n play
CISCO IOS- All the configurations and
networking is done through the CISCO
internetwork operating system
NAT- Network address translation is that
it allows a single internet connection
with a single IP address to be shared
15. IMPORTANT POINTS:-
Bridging- It is an action taken by
network equiptment to create an
aggregate network from either two or
more network segments
Virtual PC- The end terminals or devices
which will not be really existing but
working
