Marissa Meyer s futuristic dystopian novel, Cinder, is set in an advanced society
containing large divides between different groups of people including; cyborgs,
humans, and Lunars. Cyborgs are often looked down upon as inhuman machines that
are held to high expectations though, the majority of cyborgs are partially human.
The antagonist, Cinder, is a cyborgwho struggles with these divides between people.
Because of this, Cinder feels the need to hide her Cyborg self and constantly work
to appease others in order to be accepted. One theme this story suggests is In a
society that can be very demanding, people need to learn to stop trying to please
others, live for themselves, and do what they believe is right and they will benefit
from their actions. This theme is shown throughout the story in a series of critical

Unfortunately, as the baby had come at an unexpected time, the parents had not

stared out over yonder to the hills something had settled into place inside her brain

love and sense of adventure. He had many places to call home, and would never
really get comfortable in one spot because often his family would pick up and
move. Farmer was inspired by great leadership, his father, growing up and would in
turn become a great leader on his quest to rid the world of poverty and illness.
Mountains Beyond Mountains written by Tracy Kidder, depicts Farmer s mission to
provide health care internationally and talks about all the difficulties that Farmer and
his team had to overcome.
Farmer started his work in Haiti in 1983 while it was under the dictatorship of
Baby Doc. Farmer was unable to get a position at the Hospital but he found an
alternative way to get into Haiti, Eyecare. Farmer met a woman whose name was
Ophelia Dahl. At that point in his life he thought he was going to marry her.
Although they never got married, Ophelia and Farmer would always be in each other

A Comparative Analysis Christianity and Islam have several similar aspects. Both
religions praise the same God, although they each have a different given name.
Muslims refer to their god as Allah, and Christians simply refer to their god as God.
Both religions are monotheistic, and both even have a set of religious laws that all
who are righteous abide by. Muslims follow the Five Pillars of Islam, while Christians
follow the Ten Commandments. Both religions even have their own religious texts:

Centric approach to therapy would be for African American families who are dealing
with mental health. Over the years of working in the mental health field, it seems that

Intoredance And Intolerance In The Crucible By Arthur

The definition of the word martyr as defined by Merriam Webster is a person who
voluntarily suffers death as the penalty of witnessing to and refusing to renounce a
religion. When many people think of a martyr their first instinct in their mind is not
to think of witchcraft and the town of Salem. The play written by Arthur Miller titled
The Crucible is based on real events that correlate with this definition. The Crucible
depicts the 1692 SalemWitch Trials that transformed the town of Salem into
hysteria. The start of the trials began way before Abigail Williams accused one of
the townspeople of witchcraft, but when many girls were caught dancing and singing
in the woods. The trials continued for less than a year but over 200 people were
accused. With the breakout of hysteria and intolerance the town everyone seemed to
turn on eachother. Giles Corey embodied the theme of the play The Crucible by being
intolerant and going against the others, eventually costing him his life.
To begin, the theme of The Crucible is intolerance. To understand this theme you
have to know what Intolerance is. Unwillingness to accept views, beliefs, or
behaviors that differ from one s own is intolerance. The reason supporting why Giles
Corey embodies intolerance is because in the play, Giles was a dynamic character.
This means that he went through a change throughout the play both physically and
emotionally. The change that we see Giles go through is when he becomes intolerant
and goes away from what majority of the others within Salem are believing,
witchcraft. The argument of the proof that Giles showed his neighbor,Ann Putnam,
about the accusation of witchcraft was another example of how he portrayed the
theme throughout the play. Another lasting impact that Giles has on the theme of the
play is that was intolerant to a large group of Salem townspeople whose main motive
for witch accusations was for the dispute over land and wealth within the community.
The accusation of Giles and his wife Martha is directly because of that dispute. Not
only did the intolerance of the many people within the town caused Giles to change,
but unfortunately cost him his wife s and his own life.
