1. Persuasive Speech- aims to influence the
audience. The speaker in this speech acts as
an advocate or supporter of an idea, belief, or
attitude
When you deliver your persuasive speech, your
primary goal is to influence the thoughts, feelings,
actions, and behaviors or attitudes of your listeners
(Gamble & Gamble, 2012). Likewise, you also aim to
change their perception and convince them that your
argument is more important, practical, attainable, or
feasible.
2. Informative Speech-
aims to explain,
demonstrate, or instruct
the listeners about
different objects, events,
process, and ideas.
• 3. Entertainment Speech- aims to entertain, the goal
of this speech is to amuse listeners by using light,
funny, or witty anecdotes
-aims to share goodwill, joy, and pleasure to the
audience
How to Make your Speech Entertaining ?
To make your speech entertaining, you
may:
• tell jokes;
• share funny stories;
• dramatize experiences; and
• recall a scary story.
What is the importance of
identifying the purpose/s of
a speaker?
Perform different types of speech according
to purpose based on your groups. You will
have employ the assigned speech through
an advertisement. Performance will be
evaluated through a rubric. 5 minutes will
be the allotted time for the practice and 2-3
minutes for the presentation of each group.
