Dear Parents,
The TX musicians did not disappoint us on Wednesday evening; in fact, on the
contrary, they were amazing! The Ben Thanh theatre was almost full as the Friends
Around the World concert opened with a rendition of ‘We Belong Together’
performed by the AP1 and TX children.
TX musicians then left the stage to take their seats in the audience and watch the
An Phu Primary and Secondary students. During the interval, the TX pupils crept
on the stage ready for their debut. The orchestra started with ‘It’s a Small World’
followed by the TX Chamber Choir. ‘Seasons of Love’ was the MP2 and 3 song
then the orchestra and choirs joined together for the finale, ‘Like an Eagle’. The spectacular concert was
concluded by a tremendous performance of ‘Gloria’; all of the BIS performers were on the stage to really
showcase what a talented group of students we have.
Congratulations to Ms Sarah James, the Director of the BIS music department, for pulling together the
three schools seamlessly. A special thank you to Mr Robbie for directing the TX contributions and to Ms
Alice, Mr Mike and Ms Heather for working alongside the choir and orchestra during the after school
clubs. Oh and let’s not forget the children who were absolutely fantastic. Despite being a little tired, they
sang and played beautifully and made us all really proud.
Don’t forget children, we have many more opportunities for you to showcase your talents. The TX’s Got
Talent auditions have taken place and we look forward to the final performances on 17th
April. All parents
are welcome join our audience for this event which starts at 8am in the Sports Hall. In addition to this we
also have the MP3 production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which will be performed on the
evening of April 14th
. For our gymnasts, there will also be chance to perform as the Gymnastics
Competition will be held at the An Phu Campus on 15th
April.

On Wednesday TX took part in the biggest school concert of the year –
the Spring Concert, which featured music from all three BIS campuses.
Even before the concert began, the TX String Group, led by Ms Julia
from AP2 performed 2 brilliant pieces of music to all the parents
mingling in the foyer. Finally, the concert opened with a wonderful
performance of ‘We Belong Together’ by both AP1 and TX orchestras
and choirs together.
This fun piece of music set the tone for the rest of the evening, which
was followed by AP1 and AP2’s performances. After the interval, TX
took to the stage. The audience were dazzled by a peppy rendition of
‘It’s A Small World’ by the TX orchestra, followed by the beautiful
Chamber Choir who sang ‘For Good’. The audience only had a
moment to dry their eyes after this emotional piece before the tempo
increased for the Milepost 2&3 Choir’s rendition of ‘Seasons of Love’.
We ended the TX section of the Spring Concert with both the TX
Orchestra and Milepost 2&3 Choir astounding the audience with ‘Like
an Eagle’.
After AP2 performed again, all three schools took to the stage one final
time to perform and sing ‘Gloria’ by Saint Saens.
A massive congratulations to the TX children who took part on
Wednesday, and an equal thank you to all the staff who were involved
this year.
DVDs of the concert will be available to purchase from the TX office
soon, and parents will be informed when these are here.

What have the Eco Scouts been up to this term?
The Eco Scouts have been very busy during their club on Wednesdays this term. They have been
monitoring classrooms across TX to find out if we are all being eco-friendly by using the recycling bins
correctly, turning off lights and air con when we’re not in the room and using recycled paper in the
printers. The Eco scouts have also been getting ready for Waste Week (the last week of Term 2) by
making pledges to reduce waste. Look out for our Eco noticeboard in the foyer for our pledges! What are
your pledges for Waste Week?

Green Certificate
Green Certificate,
March 2015
Throughout March, 3T showed how green they were by
making sure that the air conditioner and lights were off
when they left the room, and by using the recycle bin
properly.
Well done 3T.
And as always, everyone remember:
Reduce, reuse, recycle too,
The Eco-Teams are watching YOU!!!
