Dear Parents,
Ms Beth’s class did a wonderful job of introducing our new BISCAT pillar, Being
Equal, this morning in assembly. The idea of treating everyone as an equal, despite
their colour, whether they are male or female or their nationality is something we
feel strongly about here at the BIS. We like to find similarities amongst us as well
as celebrate differences! Year 3 showed a series of short video clips of different
ways we can be unkind to others and how we can all improve our behaviour by
including everyone in our group. Well done, Year 3! You all presented your ideas
through song and dance and spoke clearly and confidently. These skills will be very
important in the MP2 Speech Competition in April.
This term we have many community service projects happening at TX. You can read more about this
week’s trips to our community partners and visitors to our campus on the following pages of the
newsletter.
It was lovely to see many of you here at TX for the parent and teacher meetings yesterday evening. If you
didn’t manage to see your child’s class teacher and/or specialist teachers then please contact the relevant
members of staff to arrange an appointment.
Mr Robbie is currently in Bangkok with children from TX and An Phu Primary for the Fobisia Performing
Arts Carnival. We look forward to hearing about more about their achievements when they return to
school on Tuesday.

Blogspot
The first post on my blog was written on the
22nd August 2012. We had Jeff Utecht, an
educational authority on blogging, visit the
school as we could see the potential for
recording progress in EYFS and improving
communication with parents. Blogs have
become part and parcel of our school, and we
are continuing to look how we can improve
them. The individual blogs and the class blog
are going to continue, but my blog is being
incorporated into the whole school - BIS Hub.
To find out more, please go to the BIS school website and click on the BIS HUB link, or for more
information, you can visit my blog (ianbattersby.blogspot.com).

ARC Visit in EYFS
Dr Nghia a local veterinarian came in with ARC to talk to all our EYFS children on Tuesday.
They brought 3 very special visitors with them, 2 beautiful
white cats 'Ho' and 'Dai' as well as 'Ziggy' a lovely gentle
dog who has visited the school before.
The children got a chance to meet the animals after learning
all about how to keep our pets healthy, with a good diet,
fresh water, play and exercise
Remember we might
like chocolate but it's
not good for our pets.

PdV Visit in Year 6
This week the Year 6 pupils welcomed their community partner
school, Poussieres de Vie, for the final session of the year.
Over the past months the children have undertaken a variety of
activities and tasks with their partners, a lot of emphasis being
placed on communication and the leading of activities by the TX
children.
As a celebration, this week the
children entertained their partners
with a snack buffet and then led
games and social activities.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with the most popular
activities proving to be dancing and arm wrestling!

U11 Boys Football
The U11 Boys Football team played two matches this week. The team consisted of; Khoa Tran, Chi Nhan
Phan, Pana Duong, Gia Vinh Le Nguyen, Tyler Nguyen, Anh Khoi Ngo Pham, Bao Tran, Vi Tri Khuu, Anh
Vu Dang.
On Wednesday 18th March the team played against TT
AIS. The TX squad initially had to adjust to the size of the
pitch. They found this hard at first but then they were able
to manage their positional play by holding their space. This
however affected their initial play resulting in several goals
being scored against them. However, in the second half the
TX team took advantage of the errors the opposition made.
The final score was 4-5 to TT AIS.
On Thursday 19th March the team played against RISS.
Throughout the first half the TX team fought for every ball
resulting in a goal being scored. The boys worked hard
throughout the game holding their positions and trying to
support each other whilst moving the ball up the pitch. The
end result was 1-0 to TX.
The player of both matches goes to Tyler. He persevered
and worked hard battling for every ball.
Well done boys; the hard work and determination are
paying off. Keep it up!
Ms Charlotte Pemble
