2. From the Head Teacher - Ms. Sue Hill
Dear Parents,
International Week
There has been a fantastic buzz of activity this week. New imaginative
and thought provoking displays and activities are being planned by
teachers and parents aimed at providing a truly international experience
for our children next week. If you wander around the campus mid-week,
you should be able to get a taste of the UK in Foundation Stage 3;
Malawi in Year 1; Australia in Year 2; The Netherlands in Year 3; Hawaii
in Year 4; Brazil in Year 5 and Antarctica in Year 6. The overall theme of
our international event this year is ‘Protecting Our World’.
Our Main Events:
Tuesday: All children will have the chance to take part in a Bollywood Dance session with a
dance teacher here at TX.
Wednesday: International Fair – children will move around a carousel of games and craft
activities in the sports hall and the foyer. There will also be an international buffet for all
children and staff. As in previous years, there will be some items which are for sale in the
foyer. If you would like your child to have the opportunity to purchase these items then
please buy tokens from the office. Tokens are in VND 5,000 denominations and we
recommend no more than 8 tokens are purchased per child.
Friday: International Costume and Flag Parade for all children in the sports hall. All
parents are very welcome to attend the event which will start at 8:15am. All children should
be dressed in their national costume. We will have a photo booth in the foyer which all
children will visit with their friends. If you would like you child to take a photo home, then you
will need to purchase a token for VND 20,000 from the office. All money raised will go to
our local school charities.
Can you help?
Many parents are already involved in the celebrations but it’s not too late to help. We would
like as many parents as possible to bring in a plate of food from their country on
Wednesday morning. If you can help during the day at the International Fair then we
would really appreciate your time and effort. Please see Ms Thanh (our Head TA) in the
office.

Interim Reports
Today, you should receive your child’s interim report. The report will provide you with the
following information:
- A number of stars showing the amount of effort your child puts into each specific subject.
- A grade showing your child’s achievement compared to the UK averages.
- Targets for your child to work on next term.
- Ways you can help at home.
You will have chance to discuss the report with your child’s class teacher during parent and
teacher meetings on 27th
November. Sheets, on which you can sign up for a suitable slot, will be
in displayed in the foyer from Monday 24th
November.
