2. INTRODUCTION
This is a PowerPoint of all the primary and secondary research we have
done about TV shows in order to make our own.
For primary research we created a questionnaire on a website called
Survey Monkey and got people to answer it a via web link and Facebook
to gather various information about watching TV, e.g. what is the most
popular TV genre and what is the most popular time to watch TV and
what the most popular channels are. We have done this because the
data we have collected will allow us to chose the correct place in the
market for our TV show we are inventing.
For secondary research we looked up and made note of the most
popular TV shows and channels, etc. We did this to ensure our
programme didn’t clash with other programmes like ours, for example…
it to be on at the same time as another reality show like ours as it would
be very competitive and it risks having a low rate of viewers.

We had to conduct primary research to find out what people thought about are show ideas the best primary research to do on his occasion was to create a questionnaire.
From this question, we can evidently see that more females answered our survey then males.
This question shows that sky and virgin are the most popular subscribers.
From this question, we can see that comedy and drama are the most popular TV genres and animation is the least popular.
Question 4 tells us that 60% of the people who answered the survey prefer the channels BBC1, E4 and ITV1.
This question states that the general public tend to watch their programmes via TV or catch up.
From this we can see that around half of the public watch TV for around 1-2 hours a day.
Question 7 shows us that none of the people who answered our survey watched TV in the morning, the most popular time is the evening.
From this question we can see that the most preferred theme for a reality show would be in a house with a family. Whereas, the least popular is sport related as no one chose this answer.
From question 9 the most popular answer was Ant and Dec as over 10 people chose it, whereas under 5 people chose Jedward making it the least popular answer.
From this question the results show that the most popular answer was celebrities with over half of the people who took the survey chose this. Whereas, the least popular answer was adults with only over 10 percent of the people picking it.
