There are 88,100 km of classified roads in Zimbabwe, 17,400 km of which are paved .About 5 percent of the network is classified as primary roads and has some of the most trafficked arterials that link Zimbabwe with its neighbors. A portion of the Pan-Africa Highway passes through Zimbabwe. This part of the road network plays a major role in the movement of the country’s imports and exports as well as transit freight.
However lately due to fiscal constraints and budgetary ills, the road network has rapidly deteriorated and can be described as in intensive care. There is need for rehabilitation, maintenance and construction of new roads especially the Beitbridge- Chirundu highway ( a transit corridor) linking South Africa and the upper parts of Africa. Road carnage have been prevalent and the busy road is narrow and can not contain the level of traffic flow operating there.
A developmental Imperative therefore presents itself on how to finance the road construction against compiling government developmental initiatives. A financing mechanism is therefore proposed in this presentation. This Innovative finance model ensure private capital investments funding development against government financing. This provides a breather to the government as they focus on other initiatives and the private sector wins through greater financial and social returns inherent in these financing structures.

Recently, the Government has released a report of the task force on National Infrastructure Pipeline for 2019-2025.
Earlier, the Prime Minister in his Independence Day speech 2019 had highlighted that ₹100 lakh crore would be invested on infrastructure over the next 5 years.
o The emphasis would be on ease of living: safe drinking water, access to clean and affordable energy, healthcare for all, modern railway stations, airports, bus terminals and world-class educational institutes.
Task Force was constituted to draw up the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) for each of the years from financial years 2019-20 to 2024-25.

Turkish Health sector, with its tourism side, is one of the leading and emerging sectors of Turkish economy. The highest quality of Turkish hospitals has already been pleasantly welcomed and accredited by the world’s famous health accreditation entities, such as Joint Commission International (JCI). According to JCI, Turkey is the second country at the ranking list with its 42 prestigious health institutions. The Turkish medical device sector is expected to expand at a CAGR of 8.5% over the 2013-2018 period. Investments in the healthcare sector are expected to continue as the government strives to increase the number of hospital beds per 10,000 populations to 32 in 2023 from the current number of 26.5. It has also taken on an ambitious healthcare PPP program. According to PPP professionals, Turkey is the second most attractive market globally for PPP projects in the medium to long term.

Health care in Turkey consists of a mix of public and private health services. Turkey has universal health care under its Universal Health Insurance (Genel Sağlık Sigortası) system. Under this system, all residents registered with the Social Security Institution (SGK) can receive medical treatment free of charge in hospitals contracted to the SGK
The World 2050 Beyond the BRICs: A broader look at emerging market growth pro...PARIS
In the words of the report’s joint authors John Hawksworth and Gordon Cookson: "The general message is that investors with long-time horizons should look beyond the BRICs — there are many other alternatives worth considering depending on the nature of the investment and the risk tolerance of the investor."
Some of the highlighted projections of this latest analysis:
* By 2050, the E7 emerging economies will be around 50% larger than the current G7 (US, Japan, Germany, UK, France, Italy and Canada)
* China is expected to overtake the US as the largest economy in around 2025
* India has the potential to nearly catch up with the US by 2050
* The projected list of fastest growing economies to 2050 is headed by Vietnam, and the top 10 includes Nigeria, Philippines, Egypt and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh, with population over 160 million in a total area of only 150,000 km2, is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Its capital, Dhaka, with a population of 17 million in the Greater Dhaka area is one of the world’s most densely populated cities. Bangladesh’s national GDP has been following a steady growth path of more than 6% per year over the last decade, and road traffic in Dhaka soared by more than 130% over the same period. Roads carry over 80% of national passenger traffic, providing the backbone of the transport sector.
The Rampura–Amulia–Demra Expressway (“RAD” or the “Project”) is a key project of Bangladesh’s Public–Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) and Roads and Highways Department (RHD). The project will serve as a gateway connecting central Dhaka to existing national highways to Chittagong, Sylhet, and the eastern regions of Bangladesh.
PPPA and RHD will shortly invite interested private sector parties to pre-qualify for the opportunity to Design Build, Finance, Operate, and Maintain the RAD project. A compelling opportunity exists for leading consortia to:
• Provide a much-awaited congestion relief road to traffic entering Dhaka, by developing a 13.5km expressway connecting National Highways N1 and N2 to the city center.
• Capitalize on Bangladesh’ economic and urban growth by providing critical connectivity infrastructure for the country
• Manage and operate the road over a 25-year concession
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been appointed as the Transaction Advisor to structure and tender the RAD as a PPP project. The expression of interest process for the project will commence shortly. The attached market awareness brochure provides preliminary information on the Project and the upcoming tender.
We look forward to feedback and participation from potential bidders. Contact information for the transaction advisors is provided in the brochure. Thank you in advance for your interest.

Paris, 30 June, 2023
Presentation by Elsa Pilichowski, Director for Public Governance, OECD.
The 2023 edition of Government at a Glance provides a comprehensive overview of public governance and public administration practices in OECD Member and partner countries. It includes indicators on trust in public institutions and satisfaction with public services, as well as evidence on good governance practices in areas such as the policy cycle, budgeting, procurement, infrastructure planning and delivery, regulatory governance, digital government and open government data. Finally, it provides information on what resources public institutions use and how they are managed, including public finances, public employment, and human resources management. Government at a Glance allows for cross-country comparisons and helps identify trends, best practices, and areas for improvement in the public sector.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
