Merry Tuesday Year 6!
I hope you have had a good start to the week.
Today you will complete the second half of the arithmetic test and
then have some multiplication problems to solve. In English, you will
be finishing off a story that uses a picture as a stimulus. In art, you will
be continuing with the theme of ‘all about you’.
Have a super day!
Word Ladders
I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s word ladder and
understand what you have to do!
Today you have another two word ladders to solve.
Good luck!
Example: Cat -> Dog
Cat -> Cot -> Dot -> Dog
There will be some clues to help if you need them!

Look at the picture on the following page and read the
opening of the story.
Your task is to continue on from where the story left off!
Think carefully about what your story might be about and
where it may take you.
Remember to vary your sentence structure and carefully
select your vocabulary. Try to use a range of punctuation in
your work and combine the narrative with speech for effect.
Timidly, she pushed back the
branches and peered into the
clearing. Sunshine drenched
the ground as it poured
through the canopy above.
She had been following the
trail of clues for days, and she
had finally reached her
destination. Were the stories
true? Was this really the place
people in her village had
talked about for centuries?
She hoped her own story
would have a fairy-tale ending,
but in the back of her mind a
sickening thought arose –
what if something more
sinister waited ahead?
Art Time!
I Can’t Imagine Live Without…
Today’s challenge is to identify what
is most important things are to you.
You will write ‘I can’t imagine life
without…’ and then creatively draw
around the outside in sections what
you most enjoy and like (like the one
on this slide!)
Have a look at the next page for
more ideas too.
Reading time!
Grab a book, get
yourself comfy and
read, read, read!
