The Daily Five is a literacy framework used in kindergarten classrooms. It consists of 5 stations: Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Work on Writing, and Word Work. The teacher introduces each station over the first 5 weeks of school. Students then rotate through the stations independently while the teacher meets with small groups. Implementing The Daily Five framework allows the teacher to focus on guided reading groups while students develop independence in literacy skills.
