Introduction

 Health is is defined as state of complete physical mental and social well-
being and not merely an absence of disease or infirmity.
 Ayurveda emphasizes its treatment in three aspects such as
daivavyapashraya , yuktivyapashraya and satvavajaya

Acharya charaka divided chikitsa mainly into 3 types:

Derivation
Atharvaveda derives - it is a sort of Divine therapy.
Daiva - faith , celestial ,belonging to Divine, to action of past life
Vyapashraya - to depending on
This therapy exhaust evil act of past .
It is concerning with all unknown circumstances , which is
beyond purview of reasoning ,
Hence called as spiritual therapy .

Modalities and mode of action
 Mantra : energy based sounds , boosts positive waves and
energy and removing negative thoughts from mind
 Mani - constant touch to skin acts on dushta Graham
 Homa - gruta. Guggulu , chandana purifies environment
 Mangala- Bali:- satisfaction
 Uaphara- gives happiness to mind. Acts as tarpana
 upavasa - control sense organs and mind
 Svastyayana - punya and mangalakara
 Pranipata - dhukha shamana
 Yatragamana- pressure points activates nerves
