 Identification of welders qualified for each WPS to be used. Ensure all welder qualification
certificates are valid.
 To check all the welding consumables to be used are as specified by the WPSs are being stored
and controlled as specified by the QC procedure.
 To check the joint fit-ups are in accordance with WPS and drawings, tack welds are to good
workmanship standard and to code/WPS.
 To ensure site/field weather conditions are suitable/comply with code.
 To ensure the welding process are in accordance with WPS.
 During preheat to be ensure with the minimum temperature is being maintained in accordance
with WPS. Conversant with various welding process such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and
SAW.
 To prepare Weld Map and Weld Matrix, Training of Welders and Welding Operators for
qualification tests.
 To conduct Welder Procedure Qualification tests, prepare and Certify Procedure Qualification
Record (PQR), in accordance with ASME Section IX.
 Check the parameters of welding and counter check with approved WPS.
 Monitor Welder performance and Welding activities to ensure that work is being carried out in
accordance with approved Welding Procedure.
 To prepare the Welding Procedures according to ASME Section IX and applicable project
specifications.
 To conduct Welder Performance Qualification and maintain its record and communicate the
Welding Instructions to the Welders / Welding Operators.
 Knowledge of different welding processes for CS & CS NACE, SS, CU-NI and INCOLLOY as
per WPS.
 Stage wise inspection As per QC plan of Piping: Like Material Identification, Fit up, Weld
visual, NDT Clearance, Dimension & Level check, Mechanical Clearance, Hydro test, & box
up.
 To check the working condition of baking and drying ovens, monitoring welding consumables
during storage as well as usage.
 Establishing of QC & Inspection Procedures, Verification of work.
 Inspection of the Piping System by studying the GA drawings, P & ID, Isometrics & Support
Details.
 To co-ordinate physical, mechanical and chemical testing of material from the lab and third
party.
 Implementation of Quality system at the site as per Quality Plan.
 Preparation of weld traceability, inspection reports and piping punch list.
 Familiar with various ASME (B31.3, D1.1, SEC-IX, SEC-II, SEC-V) codes.
 Co-coordinating with third party Inspection Agencies, Certifying Authorities and
 Ensure that the welding is carried out as per the required specifications and free from defects and
all WPS standards are met.
 Ensure the health and safety requirements of the work place, check all relevant documents and
the permission to work.
 Ensure the material condition and traceability, welding equipment calibration date are met as per
WPS standards.
 Monitor preheat and inter pass temperature is maintained, welding parameters such as welding
current, voltage, gas flow are in accordance with WPS.
 Monitor Welder performance and conduct visual inspections of welds, NDT, carry out dimensional
checks and repairs of welds in accordance with Company procedures and international codes

  • 3. 1.GS STR 301 Rev 07 Structural GS STR 201, PVV 611, PVV 614 Piping SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE  NDT (RT, UT, MT & PT) Inspection of pressure vessels FPSO.  Ultrasonic Flaw detection on T K Y joints in Offshore Wellheads, Riser Platforms and Production Platforms as per APIRP2X  Ultrasonic Flaw detection (butt welds) scanning on Shipbuilding’s, Refineries and Gas plants as per ASME Section VIII & AWS D1.1  NDT Inspection of facility shutdown of various petrochemical plants and O&G storage facility  NDT Inspection of fabrication items  NDT inspection of operational unit components (ie. boiler tubes, heat exchangers, etc)  Wet, Dry, Visible and Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Testing  Visible and Fluorescent Penetrant Testing  Corrosion survey of hull structures, vessels, piping, etc.  The project WPSs have been approved form the authorizing authority or from the clients.  To ensure the welding equipments are in suitable condition and calibrated as appropriate.  To check the weld preparations in accordance with the corresponding WPS and drawings.  Identification of welders qualified for each WPS to be used. Ensure all welder qualification certificates are valid.  To check all the welding consumables to be used are as specified by the WPSs are being stored and controlled as specified by the QC procedure.  To check the joint fit-ups are in accordance with WPS and drawings, tack welds are to good workmanship standard and to code/WPS.  To ensure site/field weather conditions are suitable/comply with code.  To ensure the welding process are in accordance with WPS.  During preheat to be ensure with the minimum temperature is being maintained in accordance with WPS. Conversant with various welding process such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and SAW.  To prepare Weld Map and Weld Matrix, Training of Welders and Welding Operators for qualification tests.  To conduct Welder Procedure Qualification tests, prepare and Certify Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), in accordance with ASME Section IX.  Check the parameters of welding and counter check with approved WPS.  Monitor Welder performance and Welding activities to ensure that work is being carried out in accordance with approved Welding Procedure.  To prepare the Welding Procedures according to ASME Section IX and applicable project specifications.  To conduct Welder Performance Qualification and maintain its record and communicate the Welding Instructions to the Welders / Welding Operators.  Knowledge of different welding processes for CS & CS NACE, SS, CU-NI and INCOLLOY as per WPS.
  • 4.  Stage wise inspection As per QC plan of Piping: Like Material Identification, Fit up, Weld visual, NDT Clearance, Dimension & Level check, Mechanical Clearance, Hydro test, & box up.  To check the working condition of baking and drying ovens, monitoring welding consumables during storage as well as usage.  Establishing of QC & Inspection Procedures, Verification of work.  Inspection of the Piping System by studying the GA drawings, P & ID, Isometrics & Support Details.  To co-ordinate physical, mechanical and chemical testing of material from the lab and third party.  Implementation of Quality system at the site as per Quality Plan.  Preparation of weld traceability, inspection reports and piping punch list.  Familiar with various ASME (B31.3, D1.1, SEC-IX, SEC-II, SEC-V) codes.  Co-coordinating with third party Inspection Agencies, Certifying Authorities and  Ensure that the welding is carried out as per the required specifications and free from defects and all WPS standards are met.  Ensure the health and safety requirements of the work place, check all relevant documents and the permission to work.  Ensure the material condition and traceability, welding equipment calibration date are met as per WPS standards.  Monitor preheat and inter pass temperature is maintained, welding parameters such as welding current, voltage, gas flow are in accordance with WPS.  Monitor Welder performance and conduct visual inspections of welds, NDT, carry out dimensional checks and repairs of welds in accordance with Company procedures and international codes From July 2012 to Till date -M/S Aveon offshore Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
