social, and political issues facing our society, I agree with his statement. I believe that
there would be a civil war against our democratic government. The government
members take advantage of their power in some situations. Some concepts should be
altered.Most people are starting to notice the unfairness and somewhat corrupt
actions governmenttakes. The process as to vote for laws or presidents in this country
and others are not the most thoughtful and reasonable procedures. For example, if
deadlocks were removed from our democracy, it would be a better system. My two

When given the option to merge three municipalities, people, living within these
towns, would seem hesitant to choose to support the merging because of a lack of

The struggle for survival Every society is unique on its own, however during hard
times, most societies end up alike and collapse. In the novel, Lord of The Flies by
William Golding, a relatively large group of British boys are deported from their
homeland and end up lost on an island in the middle of nowhere. The boys suffer
from conflicts with who should take charge and lead the group in a direction of
future rescue. They pick a leader, in which tries to satisfy everyone, however
throughout the story actions lead to consequences and soon the group/society falls
apart. The three main symbols, Piggy s glasses, the conch, and the fire gradually show
the corruption of human beings and civilization. William Golding uses these tools to
create a society bringing everyone together and then causing problems and selfishness
turning most of the group into savages , similar to what would happen during an
apocalypse. The story starts with a crash of an airplane on a remote island, where
a group of British boys between the ages of 6 and 12. With no adults around, the

The need I am trying to fulfill is bettering the mental health of children who have
had a rough upbringing. I want to know how home life influences a child s mental
health, where children can go to receive help if they need it, and how I can better

am going to focus on is the mental domain. This ties into my project of
volunteering at the Orchard Place, a children s mental health facility. With my
project, I can learn how children who grow up in a home of neglect are effected,
can get help, and what steps they take to ensure the effects of their home life will be
short term. My project is going to entail two main parts. The first part is volunteering
at the Orchard Place, a child s mental health facility. We will help at the afterschool
program on Wednesday October 12th. While there, we will help children with
homework, read to them, and play/interact with them. The second part involves
bringing a gift basket full of school supplies to the Orchard Place as a donation
when we visit. The Orchard Place puts on the program we are volunteering for
every Wednesday. The program is designed to give children a place to go after
