However, the article is insufficient with some information which is needed to give a clear picture of
yoga and meditation. Not giving an introduction about yoga and meditation is the major fault because
it is possible that the reader could be with zero percent of knowledge on this topic. Furthermore, Maria
just stated the types of yoga and meditation which are frequently practised by the participants and this
is very hazardous if the readers with back pain do some of the yoga. Indeed, one of the affected victim

physical injury mostly of the yoga poses are not performed with proper supervision. If certain poses of
yoga such as hatha yoga are not performed in the right sequence then they may result in gastric
problems and may even cause nausea and discomfort in the stomach. Metal instability is also one of
the negative effects of practicing yoga excessively or not practicing it correctly which may result in
panic attacks, homicidal urges and suicidal patterns .( G M on August 25, 2011 at

What Role Does Colvin Play In The Civil Rights Movement
Claudette Colvin should be hailed as one of the most important figures in the Civil Rights Movement.
However, she is often shuttled to the side, unknown by many. Colvin was 15 years old on March 2,
1955 when she boarded a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. It was nine months before anyone had
ever heard the name Rosa Parks. Colvin sat down quietly in a middle row, headed towards school. Her
thoughts were on what her class had discussed earlier that week; the many injustices they faced under
the Jim Crow segregation laws. Soon however, a problem arose. The front rows of the bus, where all
the white passengers sat, had been filled. Colvin, among other black riders, was told to get up and
move to the back. While the 3 others obeyed the driver and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Colvin knew of the humiliation and violence that black people could face if they dared to challenge
segregation. In fact, one of her friends had been killed for allegedly flirting with a white girl.
However, she d had enough. Ever since she was young, she d wanted to become a lawyer and fight for
civil rights. That day in 1955, Colvin took her chance. This choice had many consequences. While
there were those in her community who were proud of Colvin s actions, a majority labeled her a
troublemaker. This was a time when many did not want to fight injustice, focusing instead on issues
such as black enterprise. Colvin not only lost many friends, but later had to drop out of college and
faced difficulty in finding work. However even with threats against her and her family, Colvin decided
that she was going to fight for her rights. Although there had been other African Americans who had
done the same thing as her, she was the first to decide to go to court. In the case Browder v. Gayle, the
court ruled that the segregation on buses in Montgomery violated the Fourteenth Amendment. This
was a huge victory for the Civil Rights

Reflection On Team Work
This essay will reflect on my experience during an activity which required team work and leadership. I
will be using Gibbs Reflective Cycle (Reid, 1994) to support my structure and to help me reflect
further into my experience. This activity was carried out in Todd s Leap (an outdoor activity centre);
my team and I were required to pass a golf ball through pipes across 40m to a bucket at the end with a
time limit of 10 minutes. Within my team there were 12 people and each person had a 1m pipe. The
team and I had to piece the pipes together so that the ball could fall through without falling to the
floor; if the ball fell we then had to begin again. This activity was made competitive as we were
competing against another team who were carrying out the same activity.
As a team leader it was my role to ensure everyone was in the correct place and were communicating
effectively. This was a difficult activity and resulted in our team dropping the ball numerous amount
of times. The opposing team had went into the lead as they had got the hang of where they had to
place their pipes and therefore had potted 9 balls in while we only potted 2. I noticed a few minutes
before the time ran out that my team where not holding their pipes at the correct height resulting in the
ball falling to the floor which meant we had to start over again. I re evaluated the situation and quickly
improved our positioning; this then resulted in 5 more balls being potted. Unfortunately by the time
we began to catch up, it was too late and the bell rang to indicate time up. The consequence of this
was that our team came second with 7 balls while the other team won the competition with a total of 9
balls.
At the beginning we were put into groups where I was elected as team leader. I was quite nervous due
to the fact I did not know anyone within my group. However, I quickly started to focus on the activity
at hand and was excited to begin; considering I am an extremely competitive person. During the
experience I felt determined to establish a perfect technique to result in the highest amount of balls
being potted in the bucket. Once the opposing team were in the lead I begin to feel nervous as I was
afraid of losing. I was also frustrated that

Essay on The History of the Beatles
The History of the Beatles
The Beatles are known to many as one of the greatest bands of all time. Their music has influenced
many people, including the Queen of England, future musicians, parents, and teens. All four, Ringo
Starr, Paul McCarteny, John Lennon, and George Harrison, were knighted by the
Queen. The controversy of the statement made by John Lennon that sparked protesters everywhere to
burn countless records. Teens were influenced by the peaceful lyrics and hippie messages. Numerous
musicians of today count the Beatles among of their inspirations. The modern rock band Oasis has
stated that they get their greatest influence from the Beatles (Lewisohn, 56).

He had an Irish heritage, and was the son of a friendly local bus conductor (Schaffner, 19). George
was only sixteen when he joined the band, which was, at that time, The Quarrymen. He was allowed
to join because John was very impressed that he could play Raunchy, a popular song at the time, note
for note
(Lewisohn, 3). As soon as George joined, he, Paul, and John dropped out of school (Schaffner,
19).
This band had three guitarists, singers, and songwriters, but no bass or drums. After trying many
people, they finally settled on Pete Best on drums. They recruited Stuart Sutcliffe on bass, and
although he was a talented artist that John had met at school, he could hardly play his instrument
(Wiener, 4). The new band had no name, and their early inspirations were Buddy Holly, and the
Crickets. John created the name Beatles, because I [John] was looking for a name like the
Crickets that means two things. From Crickets I went to Beatles... when you said it people thought of
crawly things, when you read it it was beat music. (Schaffner, 20). So the Beatles were born.
They began to play at a club called The Cavern in Liverpool, after a destructive tour in Hamburg,
Germany. Soon after this, Stuart became engaged and left the band. To compensate, Paul picked up the
bass and became the permanent bassist. After hearing the young Beatles at The Cavern,
Brian Epstein signed on as manager. Soon after, George Martin

Untangling the Relationship Between Race and Intelligence
A psychosocial phenomenon known as race has the power to bind a group of people together and
determine how they are expected to behave (Kendig, 2011). Our behaviour is determined by another
phenomenon known as intelligence (Colom, Karama, Jung, Haier, 2010). Since these are both such
fundamental aspects of how our society functions, it is crucial for psychologists to understand how
these factors interact. However, despite many circulating theories, psychologists have yet to agree
upon the extent to which these phenomena affect each other. In this essay, I will explore the reasons
for division and ambiguity in the scientific community regarding the definitions and explanations of
race and intelligence, and assess whether it is prudent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some racial groups value hunting knowledge because they are required to hunt for their food for
survival, and some increase their chances of survival if they have the academic intelligence to succeed
in a paid job. Considering this, standardised IQ tests fail to create statistically comparable results due
to the fact that each race places different loadings of importance on different abilities (Sternberg,
Grigorenko, Kidd, 2005). It would be unreasonable to expect an Amazonian tribe member to
understand a question such as which design best completes the sequence? for example, because this
may not be the language or type of question they are accustomed to (Reynolds Suzuki, 2012). Yet
failure to understand such questions might affect their score and imply they are unintelligent according
to a standardised IQ test. This is known as a test bias , because the issue lies within the construction of
the measuring tool rather than a lack of intellect (Sternberg, 1980). As this example highlights, it is
necessary to acknowledge racial differences in scientific endeavours in order to achieve total
congruency, due to the diversity of cultural values. Assessing group differences between races is a
controversial area of psychology, because it requires the division and ranking of humans by socially
constructed groups. Although clear discrepancies between the groups do exist, causal factors have yet
to be determined (Mendez Spriggs, 2008). As humans

Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis of
Stub axle subassembly
1. Introduction: FMECA is a methodology to identify and analyse predicted failure modes of various
parts within the assembly or system. It is a technique to resolve potential problems in a system before
they occur. It is most widely used reliability analysis technique performed between the conceptual and
initial stage of the detailed design phase of the system in order to assure that all the potential failures
have been considered and the proper provisions have been made to eliminate these failures. [1] (Ref.

The outer racer of the bearing is fastening into the boss. The whole subassembly is then attached with
the steering arm, stub axle by means of welded joints and the plate welded to the chassis by means of
Rod end bearing(2). The steering arm is joined with the steering rod by swivel joint as shown in the
fig1. By going through the force diagram2 of the system below, the number of components those are
highly stressed and because of which may fail or lack in desired performance is four.
i. Stub axle: stub axle whose main function is to be a hostage of the wheel may be deformed due to
high fatigue stress induced due to the repetitive compressive load on upper edge and tensile on lower
edge as many times as the wheel experiences high impact load in upward direction. And the result is
the difficulty while cornering. Even though the probability of failure of stub axle is higher due to
impact failure of weld joints. Which may cause the serious safety effect.
ii. Hose and Bearing subassembly: As its main function is to reduce the friction, and providing bearing
support, its conceivable failure is detected by testing during maintenance. the probability of failure is
either wearing off the rolling element, or misalignment of bearing which is a result of failure of
bearing spacer. The system effect due to this is difficulty in cornering the vehicle, harsh

French And Indian War Dbq
Answer: The French and Indian War was a greater grand war between Great Britain and France. It was
begun in 1754 and completed with the Treaty of Paris. The war gave Great Britain gigantic local
increments in North America, yet differences about subsequent outskirts approach and paying the war

Indian War occurred due to nonstop outskirts strains in North America as both French and British
regal powers and colonists hoped to increase each country s scope of conspicuousness in boondocks

Battling in Europe finished after a fizzled Spanish attack of British associate Portugal. By 1763,
French and Spanish ambassadors started to look for peace. In the subsequent Treaty of Paris, Great
Britain secured noteworthy regional increases in North America, including all French territory east of

Prior to the war, the estimation of their association with Great Britain was self evident. With its

Saving Mr. Banks is about the feud between Walt Disney and P.L. Travers; the author of the famous
Marry Poppins. Travers was a renowned author, especially her book Mary Poppins; even till now this
book is consider a classic to all of us. One of the reason why I selected this movie out of all the other
recommendations, it is mainly because I love both the actor (Tom Hanks) and the actress (Emma
Thompson), they were definitely the best candidate to portray Disney and Travers. Another reason is,
both Mary Poppins and anything Disney related, are my favorites since I was a child. As for this

A Summary Of The Most Powerful Women In Advertising
The article The Most Powerful Women in Advertising highlights the introduction of women in
advertising. Women make up a small percentage of advertising managers; however, they don t match
their male peers in the managerial ranks. Based on table one, the number of women as advertising and
promotions managers has increased steadily. From 1983 2015, women in this occupation rose from
21.8% 56.5%. The most obvious answer for the increase is that with technology rapidly expanding,
women as a target market have increased. Another assumption for this increase is the fact that women
account for a high percentage of shoppers in households and women are better at speaking to each
other. Even in race and ethnicity, the percentages have increased. The conclusion that I have drawn
from table one is there is a demand for women, African Americans, Asians and Hispanics as

earnings as a percentage of men have increased to 78.5%. The conclusions that can be drawn are the

Reasons Why Nazis Came to Power in 1933
Reasons Why Nazis Came to Power in 1933 There are several factors that enabled the Nazi party, with
Hitler as its leader, was able to come to power in Germany in 1933. There are 5 main reasons involved
history, economics, politics and the personality of Hitler. The main political events occurred in 1923
and 1933. The Treaty of Versailles was one of the most important causes that led to Hitler s rise in
Germany. From the German point of view the treaty was incredibly harsh and devastating for
Germany. The treaty contained five major points that would be Germany s demise. Germany was
reduced severely as a military power. Due to this the country also had a huge problem in dealing with

The Saar Coalmines made a lot of money, and were very profitable to Germany. A big industry had
been taken away from Germany. All three of these points, accepting the blame for the war,
disarmament and the lost of the territory made the country feel weak. It was a total humiliation to the
Germans and to the man in the army at that time, Hitler. All of Germany s overseas colonies were
given to the victors as mandates, or territories held in trust until they were ready for independence.
The other terms of the treaty was the war reparations that Germany was forced to pay. The sum of this
was £6,6oo million. Germany felt this was far too much. The lost of Germany s territory e.g. the Saar
coalfields and other territories made it harder for Germany to pay the reparations. It caused a
tremendous economic problems in Germany. The German people were starving and living in poverty.
This soon caused inflation that sprouted to hyperinflation and so the Economic depression of the 1920
´s in Germany occurred. This is an ongoing long term cause was the heart itself of many more causes
in the rise of Hitler. This an minor reason why the Nazi rise in power because one of their ideas is to
over turn the Treaty of Versailles and the anti Versailles attitude in Germany help put Nazi into power.

Paul Farmer Partners In Health Summary
Introduction This paper provides an analysis of the work of Paul Farmer, and the members of Partners
in Health exemplifies the three fields of medical anthropology (ecological epidemiological, critical
and interpretive). This paper hypothesizes that diseases can be caused by various factors while the
other factors that are mentioned in this paper are associated with the cause. Ecological
epidemiological This is the approach in medical anthropology that analysis how the ecology or the
natural environment cause or are related to specific health issues or diseases for that matter. The
conditions under which the people in Haiti lived helped Farmer explain how health issues arise (Vine,
2013). Population pressure due to displacement led to congested ... Show more content on

Different cultural groups have different ways of defining various diseases and other health issues.
Farmer argues that the people in Haiti and India have various cultures that may define some of their
health issues. Farmer explained that this approach helped him determine how the diseases occurred
based on the cultural definitions of these cultures. The members of Partners Health also argued that
some of the cultural meanings such as childbirth could highly determine the health issues experienced
in a certain ethnical group. This means that the occurrence of certain diseases is linked with the
meanings that the specific cultural group associates with it. Conclusion The above discussions shows
how Farmer and the members of Partners in Health tried to exemplify the three fields of medical
anthropology; ecological epidemiological, critical and interpretive approaches. This is however not to
state these as the causes of these health issues or diseases. They are however some of the contributing
or associated factors to these health issues. Each of these approaches helps anthropologists come up
with the various causes or factors associated with health issues in certain

Corporal Punishment And How It Affects A Child s Life
For over decades now there has been many controversial debate about corporal punishment and how it
effects a child s life. Before we even begin this whole debate, we should distinguish the difference
between child abuse and corporal punishment.Child abuse is when a parent or a caregiver fails to act
upon action like injury, death, and emotional abuse with child abuse there are many forms of
maltreatment, which includes neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation and emotional abuse.
Corporal punishment is when a parent or other legal guardian causes physical pain or discomfort to a
child due to misbehaving examples include spanking or slapping a child with a hand or using a
belt, slippers, and a paddle.Sometimes corporal punishment can also include shaking, pinching, or a
child being in a uncomfortable position. In fact, often times parents take it too far when it comes to
punishing their child which soon leads to a big issue.
In the Middle Age corporal punishment was used in schools, at home, and for when a person convict a
crime. Today, some schools has banned corporal punishment like in Alaska, California, Connecticut,
Delaware and many more, but should it be illegal at home also? Parents have different opinions about
corporal punishment and the way it should be used. One parent said that they d been spanked as a
child, and they turned out pretty good. (Polhemus, Betsy and Lindo, Asher, To hit or not to hit: Is
spanking an effective punishment?), but what if you

Worlds Of Wonder In The Northern Colonies Summary
In David D. Hall s essay Worlds of Wonder in the Northern Colonies and T.H. Breen s Worlds of

put to question. David D. Hall supports the idea that religion was deeply rooted in the early settlers
while T.H. Breen supports the idea that the early Americans only concern was becoming an empire of

reliable due to its religious reliability of tradition.

The Government s Combat On Copyrights Infringement
Abstract As China rose to become one of the world s largest trading partners following its accession to
the WTO, the country also began to face intense pressure from the international community to abide
by standards on intellectual property rights. Specifically, China has strengthened its legal framework
and amended its IPR laws and regulations to comply with the WTO Agreement on Trade Related
Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS). Copyright protection is one area that China has made great
progress in especially in the entertainment industry. With China s economy booming, China is

The firm estimated that China s online video revenue increased 41.9 percent in 2013, reaching about
$2 billion. In contrast, China s traditional TV industry has suffered a sharp decline. In 2012 only 30%
of households in Beijing watched TV, down from 70% three years earlier (The Economist, 2013).
However, the gains from the expanding industry come with high costs. Avoiding licensing costs from
foreign production companies, many Chinese Internet video companies had become a haven for illicit
American shows and hit South Korean soap operas. The illegal distribution of foreign content on these
websites was an undoing to China s endeavor to ascent to a strong intellectual property country.
Amidst criticisms from the right holders in the international community, China has tightened its
regulations against copyright infringement on online video streaming websites. Another rationale
behind the government s commitment to fighting copyright piracy is to protect domestic TV stations
against the rampant popularity of foreign TV shows online. The Chinese government hopes that
through an enforcement of IPR, China s TV industry will see a reduce in the invasion of foreign TV
shows due to high licensing costs and thus an increase in the production of domestic popular ones.
Through a careful analysis of the legal framework and measures the Chinese government

a lifetime for a young hobbit named Frodo. In The Fellowship of the Ring there are two hobbits
named Bilbo, and Frodo Baggins. Bilbo is Frodo s uncle who went on an incredible adventure and
obtained a ring from a hobbit named Gollum. That ring once belonged to Sauron, the dark lord of
Mordor. Without knowing that fact, Bilbo had kept the ring for years. Eventually his dear friend
Gandalf the Grey had suspicions of the rings, and had Bilbo give it to his heir Frodo before he left for
Rivendell. Frodo received a mission from Gandalf to get rid of the ring in Rivendell, the home of the
elves. To accompany Frodo on his journey, three other young hobbits went along. Those hobbits were
Sam, Pippin, and Merry. Along their journey to Rivendell they came across many obstacles, but they
finally made it. When they arrived they had met Bilbo there. Elrond, the elf king decided to send with

Bilbo was drawn to the ring along with anyone else that was near it, but no one ever knew why.
Gandalf had his suspicions about the ring, and when he confirmed his suspicions he needed to stop it,
but he couldn t do it himself. He needed the help of the young hobbit, Frodo. He had Frodo take the
ring to Rivendell to learn more about the ring. When he arrived to Rivendell he met with a counsel of
elves who explained the Ring to him. They told him about Sauron, and the creation of the ring. You
will learn that your trouble is but part of the trouble of all the western world. The Ring! What shall we
do with the Ring, the least of rings, the trifle that Sauron fancies? That is the doom that we all must
deem. ( Tolkien 236). This quote is Elrond speaking to Frodo in regards to the One Ring. He is about

Richard Milhous Nixon s Father s Side Of The Family
Richard Milhous Nixon came from a family with a strong heritage. His father s side of the family were
Methodists originally from Scotland. Then, in the early 1600s, they migrated to Ireland, and to
America in the 1730s. His grandfather, George Nixon, died in the Battle of Gettysburg during the
Civil war. Richard s father, Frank Nixon, was born in Ohio. His mother died when he was only 7, and
he left home when he was only 14. He went from town to town doing odd jobs and eventually made
his way to California where he met his future wife, Hannah. Nixon s mother s side of the family was
originally from Germany. They then migrated to England around 1688, where they became Quakers.
From England they migrated to Ireland, and from Ireland to America. During the civil war they were
part of the underground railroad. Richard s mother, Hannah Milhous, was born in Indiana, but her
family moved and she grew up in Whittier, California, where she met Frank Nixon. They fell in love
at first sight, and were married four months later in June 1908. Frank converted to Quakerism. Frank
and Hannah s first son, Harold, was born in 1909, only a year after they were wed. In 1908, Frank
bought a lemon ranch in Yorba Linda, CA, and built a small house there. Then, on January 9, 1913,
Richard Milhous Nixon was born in that very house. Hannah and Frank would have three more
children: Donald (born in 1914), Arthur (born in 1918), and Edward (born in 1930). The

Wages For The American Worker Essay
Honest Wages for The American Worker Congratulations, you are hired! The four words that people
long to hear. However, for many newly employed workers, their new job will not pay an income that
will enable them to live comfortably. In 2015, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 2.6 million
Americans, or approximately 3.3 percent of all hourly paid workers earned wages at, or below the
federal minimum wage. Since 2009, the federal minimum wage amount has remained stagnant.
Bringing this number to a level that is consistent with the cost of living is a basic right for every wage
earning American. Raising the minimum wage enables working people to live above the poverty line.
Although opposition states that raising the wage will increase unemployment, the increase would
actually reduce the number of persons receiving food stamps, stimulate the economy, in addition to
reducing income inequality.
According to a Washington Post ABC news poll, two thirds of Americans say the minimum wage
should be increased. In 2015, protests by low wage workers garnered media attention and captured the
nation s attention. Workers exposed the low wage paying practices by several big name corporations.
These companies included Macy s, Sears and Walmart in addition to fast food outlets Dunkin Donuts,
McDonald s and Subway. Pressure is building on Congress to raise the amount, nevertheless this is not
the first time Congress has wrestled with this subject. The Fair Labor Standards Act was a

Five Pillars Of Islam Research Paper
Specific sacred practices and rituals are important to Muslims. They are significant in the way
adherents remember history, express conviction, and grow in devotion. Certain rituals are performed
daily, like prayer; and others are practiced annually, like those aligned with specific Islamic holidays.
With having quite a few practices within a religion adherents understand the great importance of
properly performing these rituals and practices. The five Pillars of Islam are five practices regarded by
all sects of the Islamic religion as key factors of the Muslim faith. Considered as an obligation for
every Muslim, The Five Pillars of Islam create a framework for the religion: weaving everyday

God, and puts daily life within the perspective of life to come after death and the last judgment.

Men and Eating Disorders
Protruding rib cages, frail bones, and thin hair, these symptoms often come to mind for many
physicians and therapists alike when they think of someone suffering from an eating disorder. What
about overly health conscience, extreme muscle mass, and obsessively exercising? New disorders like
Muscle Dysmorphia are being discovered in males that have not been brought to the forefront of news
today. The male population is severely under calculated and usually passed over when people cover
statistics and findings for eating disorders. This stigma and stance that people have while thinking
only females suffer from eating disorders only makes it more difficult for males to admit they have a
problem and seek treatment for it before it gets too ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These ideas have not just been secluded to magazines but medical journals as well, many recent
scholarly articles have been written on this growing topic. One scholarly article focusing on the lack
knowledge and treatments available to men was written by medical experts Jane Dalgliesh and
Katherine Nutt. The two published their article, Treating men with eating disorder in the NHS in the
May 2013 issue of Nursing Standard. Dalgliesh and Nutt emphasize that fact that eating disorders are
still focused on females when diagnosing. Specific medical symptoms like amenorrhea (the absence of
menstrual periods) it harder to confirm that a male has an eating disorder and the medical field needs
to update what they look for (Dalgliesh). In addition to mentioning the issues arising from the
currently set and used symptoms for diagnosing, the authors criticize the field when they move on to
the treatments for patients, or the lack thereof. Dalgliesh and Nutt confirm that some facilities refuse
to house male patients because lack of resources and preparedness which should never be a reason to

The Celebration Of A Festival
Diwali, a festival which has been part of my life for seventeen years was suddenly gone, as soon as I
left my country. I always felt I was missing a part of me. Coming from a country where we celebrate
different festivals, I felt incomplete witness only few festivals, than I learned to compromise and
adjust to the situation. Pretty soon I learned that I was wrong every time I was made to believe that
Stonehill is not diverse and it is very exclusive bubble. I soon realized that Stonehill has a thirst for
diversity and it was ready to move away from the stereotypes imposed on it. We started the process to
add more diversity to Stonehill by establishing Desi Club, then organizing a successful on campus
event, Diwali on 31st October 2014. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
15, 527 B.C. . In Sikhism it marks the day that Guru Hargobind Ji, the Sixth Sikh Guru was freed from
imprisonment (National Geography). Different parts of the country have different interpretations of
the festival, but all of them have one thing in common, i.e. victory of good over evil.
In this paper I am focusing more on how Bengali Indians celebrate Diwali. Growing up I heard lots of
my grandma s folktales about Diwali. Grandma s stories go like this: after fourteen (in some sources it
is written thirteen) years of exile, lord Rama comes back to his kingdom with his wife, younger
brother and his favorite devotee. It was a full moon night. People of Ayodhya, India gets thrilled to see
their king after a long period of time, but there was no electricity in 5114 BC (Zee News). Local
people light up earthen lamps or diyas on the roadsides and in their houses, making the full moon
night look like a bright day. Hence, the word Diwali came into existence. Preparations for the Diwali
evening generally start from the morning, in our house. My mom along with my aunts would make
arrangements for the puja (prayer ceremony). Then she would make rangoli inside and around the
house.
Rangolis are drawn in front of the gate, the main door, common room, and temple. It usually does not
follow any specific pattern; it depends upon the artist and the

Lady Bird
To begin, according to Rudin, S. (Producer), O Neill, E. (Producer), Bush, E. (Producers) Gerwig, G.
(Director). (2017). Lady Bird [Motion picture]. The United States, the editing style in the film Lady
Bird seemed to be more slow pace, but clear. Throughout the film, it shows Lady Bird s life
throughout high school and at home. It shows how like some seniors in high school, she is having a
hard time getting in college. For example, during the car ride scene with Lady Bird and her mom, it
showed their relationship was not the best. In later scenes like when they are shopping for a dress for
Lady Bird to wear at Danny s grandmother or when Lady Bird s mother tells her father lost his job,
but Lady Bird does not care because she only cares about herself, it proves the point further. The
reason why it felt slow pace, but clear, is due to the fact it felt more like a document than an actual

applies to a couple of expensive and top colleges on the East Coast. She, unfortunately, does not get
accepted into these colleges. Her mother and father make her apply to the University of California,
Davis and she gets accepted, but she is upset about it because it is too close to home. She finally

Bill Fontan An Internationally Reputable Composer And...
Bill Fontana is an internationally reputable composer and pioneering American sound sculptor born
April 25th 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio. Since the mid to late 70 s Fontana has used sound as a sculptural
medium, able to interact and transform our perceptions of visual and architectural spaces. Fontana is
constantly engaged with the idea that at any moment there will be something musical to hear in the
coherent sound patterns around him. His sound sculptures use the human or natural environment
surrounding as a living source of musical information, often creating multiple networks of live
listening points that relay real time acoustics to a common listening place or sculptural site. All of
Fontana s works produced over the years experiment with process of listening, recording, relocating
and representing found sound patterns. Through discussion of his works and the process undertaken in
his listening for different found sound, the technologies used in recording and relaying of these sounds
to site, and the sites themselves through his works can be seen to complicate the idea of medium
within his practice.
Links from Fontana s background can be seen to have influence upon the development of his practice.
Fontana started his musical career in the 60 s as a composition student, attending the New School for
Social Research in New York, studying both music and philosophy. It was here that Fontana became a
student of John Cage s Experimental Composition course at the school. By

Online Gambling Act Research Paper
Republicans in September of 2006 attached the UIGEA to the SAFE Port Act, a very popular bill
designed to protect American ports from terrorism. By doing this, Republicans passed the bill without
most Democrats even being able to read it. It was likely believed that without it being attached to
another bill, it would not have passed, as many similar bills had been turned down. It was
subsequently signed into law by President Bush on October 13. The formulation of the policy was not
to criminalize individual Americans who were gambling. Instead, the act makes it illegal for banks and
financial institutions to process transactions for Internet gambling websites. (Rainey, 150) Therefore,
instead of turning more Americans into criminals, the act simply cut off the money flow going into the
foreign online casinos. The act basically defined illegal internet gambling as gambling that states had
already made illegal under their own laws. This meant that all 50 states likely had different rules and
regulations by which this bill must be interpreted. It also meant that 2 states, Utah and Hawaii, did not
allow any form of gambling at all. For most states, the ability for an institution to sell gambling means
obtaining a license. In the case of these foreign companies running online casinos that was all but
impossible. Along with trying to block the transactions of internet gambling, the act also made it a

Biography Of Chuck, An African American Male
Chuck, an African American male, was brought to my funeral home after an autopsy had been
completed on him. Chuck passed away in a car accident after his car crossed the centerline, was hit by
another car and then upon impact burned. Amazingly, Chuck got out of the car but later died on the
side of the road before help had arrived. Chuck s ability to get out the car and dying on the side of the
road led to this being an autopsy case. While preparing Chuck for his services, I noticed that he has
light discolorations on his hands and face due to his car catching on fire. This goes to show that he
suffered first degree burns. First degree burns or hyperemia is any injury caused by heat, which
produces redness of the skin. This type of burn does not present any unusual difficulty when
embalming or preparing the body. Although it is discolored, we have to be thankful that the skin will
just be red, unbroken and has no tissue destruction. For the discoloration, I used a stronger than
normal arterial injection solution as a precaution against skin slip, applied massage cream during the
embalming process and used cosmetics after embalming to help reduce the visibility of the burns on
his hands and face. The fact that Chuck has a ruptured aorta causes some difficulties and will affect
the embalming process, however embalming can still take place. A ruptured aorta will cause the
embalming fluid to fill the cavity rather than going through the arterial system. If one

  • 4. What Role Does Colvin Play In The Civil Rights Movement Claudette Colvin should be hailed as one of the most important figures in the Civil Rights Movement. However, she is often shuttled to the side, unknown by many. Colvin was 15 years old on March 2, 1955 when she boarded a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. It was nine months before anyone had ever heard the name Rosa Parks. Colvin sat down quietly in a middle row, headed towards school. Her thoughts were on what her class had discussed earlier that week; the many injustices they faced under the Jim Crow segregation laws. Soon however, a problem arose. The front rows of the bus, where all the white passengers sat, had been filled. Colvin, among other black riders, was told to get up and move to the back. While the 3 others obeyed the driver and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Colvin knew of the humiliation and violence that black people could face if they dared to challenge segregation. In fact, one of her friends had been killed for allegedly flirting with a white girl. However, she d had enough. Ever since she was young, she d wanted to become a lawyer and fight for civil rights. That day in 1955, Colvin took her chance. This choice had many consequences. While there were those in her community who were proud of Colvin s actions, a majority labeled her a troublemaker. This was a time when many did not want to fight injustice, focusing instead on issues such as black enterprise. Colvin not only lost many friends, but later had to drop out of college and faced difficulty in finding work. However even with threats against her and her family, Colvin decided that she was going to fight for her rights. Although there had been other African Americans who had done the same thing as her, she was the first to decide to go to court. In the case Browder v. Gayle, the court ruled that the segregation on buses in Montgomery violated the Fourteenth Amendment. This was a huge victory for the Civil Rights ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Reflection On Team Work This essay will reflect on my experience during an activity which required team work and leadership. I will be using Gibbs Reflective Cycle (Reid, 1994) to support my structure and to help me reflect further into my experience. This activity was carried out in Todd s Leap (an outdoor activity centre); my team and I were required to pass a golf ball through pipes across 40m to a bucket at the end with a time limit of 10 minutes. Within my team there were 12 people and each person had a 1m pipe. The team and I had to piece the pipes together so that the ball could fall through without falling to the floor; if the ball fell we then had to begin again. This activity was made competitive as we were competing against another team who were carrying out the same activity. As a team leader it was my role to ensure everyone was in the correct place and were communicating effectively. This was a difficult activity and resulted in our team dropping the ball numerous amount of times. The opposing team had went into the lead as they had got the hang of where they had to place their pipes and therefore had potted 9 balls in while we only potted 2. I noticed a few minutes before the time ran out that my team where not holding their pipes at the correct height resulting in the ball falling to the floor which meant we had to start over again. I re evaluated the situation and quickly improved our positioning; this then resulted in 5 more balls being potted. Unfortunately by the time we began to catch up, it was too late and the bell rang to indicate time up. The consequence of this was that our team came second with 7 balls while the other team won the competition with a total of 9 balls. At the beginning we were put into groups where I was elected as team leader. I was quite nervous due to the fact I did not know anyone within my group. However, I quickly started to focus on the activity at hand and was excited to begin; considering I am an extremely competitive person. During the experience I felt determined to establish a perfect technique to result in the highest amount of balls being potted in the bucket. Once the opposing team were in the lead I begin to feel nervous as I was afraid of losing. I was also frustrated that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their music has influenced many people, including the Queen of England, future musicians, parents, and teens. All four, Ringo Starr, Paul McCarteny, John Lennon, and George Harrison, were knighted by the Queen. The controversy of the statement made by John Lennon that sparked protesters everywhere to burn countless records. Teens were influenced by the peaceful lyrics and hippie messages. Numerous musicians of today count the Beatles among of their inspirations. The modern rock band Oasis has stated that they get their greatest influence from the Beatles (Lewisohn, 56). This great band had small beginnings, however. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He had an Irish heritage, and was the son of a friendly local bus conductor (Schaffner, 19). George was only sixteen when he joined the band, which was, at that time, The Quarrymen. He was allowed to join because John was very impressed that he could play Raunchy, a popular song at the time, note for note (Lewisohn, 3). As soon as George joined, he, Paul, and John dropped out of school (Schaffner, 19). This band had three guitarists, singers, and songwriters, but no bass or drums. After trying many people, they finally settled on Pete Best on drums. They recruited Stuart Sutcliffe on bass, and although he was a talented artist that John had met at school, he could hardly play his instrument (Wiener, 4). The new band had no name, and their early inspirations were Buddy Holly, and the Crickets. John created the name Beatles, because I [John] was looking for a name like the Crickets that means two things. From Crickets I went to Beatles... when you said it people thought of crawly things, when you read it it was beat music. (Schaffner, 20). So the Beatles were born. They began to play at a club called The Cavern in Liverpool, after a destructive tour in Hamburg, Germany. Soon after this, Stuart became engaged and left the band. To compensate, Paul picked up the bass and became the permanent bassist. After hearing the young Beatles at The Cavern, Brian Epstein signed on as manager. Soon after, George Martin ... • 7. Untangling the Relationship Between Race and Intelligence A psychosocial phenomenon known as race has the power to bind a group of people together and determine how they are expected to behave (Kendig, 2011). Our behaviour is determined by another phenomenon known as intelligence (Colom, Karama, Jung, Haier, 2010). Since these are both such fundamental aspects of how our society functions, it is crucial for psychologists to understand how these factors interact. However, despite many circulating theories, psychologists have yet to agree upon the extent to which these phenomena affect each other. In this essay, I will explore the reasons for division and ambiguity in the scientific community regarding the definitions and explanations of race and intelligence, and assess whether it is prudent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some racial groups value hunting knowledge because they are required to hunt for their food for survival, and some increase their chances of survival if they have the academic intelligence to succeed in a paid job. Considering this, standardised IQ tests fail to create statistically comparable results due to the fact that each race places different loadings of importance on different abilities (Sternberg, Grigorenko, Kidd, 2005). It would be unreasonable to expect an Amazonian tribe member to understand a question such as which design best completes the sequence? for example, because this may not be the language or type of question they are accustomed to (Reynolds Suzuki, 2012). Yet failure to understand such questions might affect their score and imply they are unintelligent according to a standardised IQ test. This is known as a test bias , because the issue lies within the construction of the measuring tool rather than a lack of intellect (Sternberg, 1980). As this example highlights, it is necessary to acknowledge racial differences in scientific endeavours in order to achieve total congruency, due to the diversity of cultural values. Assessing group differences between races is a controversial area of psychology, because it requires the division and ranking of humans by socially constructed groups. Although clear discrepancies between the groups do exist, causal factors have yet to be determined (Mendez Spriggs, 2008). As humans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction: FMECA is a methodology to identify and analyse predicted failure modes of various parts within the assembly or system. It is a technique to resolve potential problems in a system before they occur. It is most widely used reliability analysis technique performed between the conceptual and initial stage of the detailed design phase of the system in order to assure that all the potential failures have been considered and the proper provisions have been made to eliminate these failures. By going through the force diagram2 of the system below, the number of components those are highly stressed and because of which may fail or lack in desired performance is four. i. Stub axle: stub axle whose main function is to be a hostage of the wheel may be deformed due to high fatigue stress induced due to the repetitive compressive load on upper edge and tensile on lower edge as many times as the wheel experiences high impact load in upward direction. And the result is the difficulty while cornering. Even though the probability of failure of stub axle is higher due to impact failure of weld joints. Which may cause the serious safety effect. ii. Hose and Bearing subassembly: As its main function is to reduce the friction, and providing bearing support, its conceivable failure is detected by testing during maintenance. the probability of failure is either wearing off the rolling element, or misalignment of bearing which is a result of failure of bearing spacer. Prior to the war, the estimation of their association with Great Britain was self evident. Travers was a renowned author, especially her book Mary Poppins; even till now this book is consider a classic to all of us. One of the reason why I selected this movie out of all the other recommendations, it is mainly because I love both the actor (Tom Hanks) and the actress (Emma Thompson), they were definitely the best candidate to portray Disney and Travers. Women make up a small percentage of advertising managers; however, they don t match their male peers in the managerial ranks. Based on table one, the number of women as advertising and promotions managers has increased steadily. From 1983 2015, women in this occupation rose from 21.8% 56.5%. The most obvious answer for the increase is that with technology rapidly expanding, women as a target market have increased. Another assumption for this increase is the fact that women account for a high percentage of shoppers in households and women are better at speaking to each other. Even in race and ethnicity, the percentages have increased. The conclusion that I have drawn from table one is there is a demand for women, African Americans, Asians and Hispanics as Advertising and promotions managers. ... There are 5 main reasons involved history, economics, politics and the personality of Hitler. The main political events occurred in 1923 and 1933. The Treaty of Versailles was one of the most important causes that led to Hitler s rise in Germany. From the German point of view the treaty was incredibly harsh and devastating for Germany. All of Germany s overseas colonies were given to the victors as mandates, or territories held in trust until they were ready for independence. The other terms of the treaty was the war reparations that Germany was forced to pay. The sum of this was £6,6oo million. Germany felt this was far too much. Ecological epidemiological This is the approach in medical anthropology that analysis how the ecology or the natural environment cause or are related to specific health issues or diseases for that matter. • 32. Lady Bird To begin, according to Rudin, S. (Producer), O Neill, E. (Producer), Bush, E. (Producers) Gerwig, G. (Director). (2017). Lady Bird [Motion picture]. The United States, the editing style in the film Lady Bird seemed to be more slow pace, but clear. Throughout the film, it shows Lady Bird s life throughout high school and at home. It shows how like some seniors in high school, she is having a hard time getting in college. For example, during the car ride scene with Lady Bird and her mom, it showed their relationship was not the best. In later scenes like when they are shopping for a dress for Lady Bird to wear at Danny s grandmother or when Lady Bird s mother tells her father lost his job, but Lady Bird does not care because she only cares about herself, it proves the point further. The reason why it felt slow pace, but clear, is due to the fact it felt more like a document than an actual movie. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, after Lady Bird s father loses his job he later goes for an interview at a different company but does not get because he was too old. Instead, the job goes to his son, who has nowhere near enough experience as his father. Another example is, when Lady Bird is applying for college she applies to a couple of expensive and top colleges on the East Coast. She, unfortunately, does not get accepted into these colleges. Her mother and father make her apply to the University of California, Davis and she gets accepted, but she is upset about it because it is too close to home. She finally applies to a New York college but is placed on a waitlist, that costs money. Lady Bird has to figure out how her scholarships, job, and grades can let her go to this college. She also does not tell her mother, because she is afraid of her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Bill Fontan An Internationally Reputable Composer And... Bill Fontana is an internationally reputable composer and pioneering American sound sculptor born April 25th 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio. Since the mid to late 70 s Fontana has used sound as a sculptural medium, able to interact and transform our perceptions of visual and architectural spaces. Fontana is constantly engaged with the idea that at any moment there will be something musical to hear in the coherent sound patterns around him. His sound sculptures use the human or natural environment surrounding as a living source of musical information, often creating multiple networks of live listening points that relay real time acoustics to a common listening place or sculptural site. All of Fontana s works produced over the years experiment with process of listening, recording, relocating and representing found sound patterns. Through discussion of his works and the process undertaken in his listening for different found sound, the technologies used in recording and relaying of these sounds to site, and the sites themselves through his works can be seen to complicate the idea of medium within his practice. Links from Fontana s background can be seen to have influence upon the development of his practice. • 34. Online Gambling Act Research Paper Republicans in September of 2006 attached the UIGEA to the SAFE Port Act, a very popular bill designed to protect American ports from terrorism. By doing this, Republicans passed the bill without most Democrats even being able to read it. It was likely believed that without it being attached to another bill, it would not have passed, as many similar bills had been turned down. It was subsequently signed into law by President Bush on October 13. The formulation of the policy was not to criminalize individual Americans who were gambling. Instead, the act makes it illegal for banks and financial institutions to process transactions for Internet gambling websites. (Rainey, 150) Therefore, instead of turning more Americans into criminals, the act simply cut off the money flow going into the foreign online casinos. The act basically defined illegal internet gambling as gambling that states had already made illegal under their own laws. This meant that all 50 states likely had different rules and regulations by which this bill must be interpreted. It also meant that 2 states, Utah and Hawaii, did not allow any form of gambling at all. For most states, the ability for an institution to sell gambling means obtaining a license. In the case of these foreign companies running online casinos that was all but impossible. Along with trying to block the transactions of internet gambling, the act also made it a felony to knowingly accept money for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 35. Biography Of Chuck, An African American Male Chuck, an African American male, was brought to my funeral home after an autopsy had been completed on him. Chuck passed away in a car accident after his car crossed the centerline, was hit by another car and then upon impact burned. Amazingly, Chuck got out of the car but later died on the side of the road before help had arrived. Chuck s ability to get out the car and dying on the side of the road led to this being an autopsy case. While preparing Chuck for his services, I noticed that he has light discolorations on his hands and face due to his car catching on fire. This goes to show that he suffered first degree burns. First degree burns or hyperemia is any injury caused by heat, which produces redness of the skin. This type of burn does not present any unusual difficulty when embalming or preparing the body. Although it is discolored, we have to be thankful that the skin will just be red, unbroken and has no tissue destruction. For the discoloration, I used a stronger than normal arterial injection solution as a precaution against skin slip, applied massage cream during the embalming process and used cosmetics after embalming to help reduce the visibility of the burns on his hands and face. The fact that Chuck has a ruptured aorta causes some difficulties and will affect the embalming process, however embalming can still take place. A ruptured aorta will cause the embalming fluid to fill the cavity rather than going through the arterial system. If one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
