Lobster With A Side Of Judgment Summary

Lobster With a Side of Judgment Is it cruel to boil lobsters alive? David Wallace writes a piece about
the horrors of cooking lobsters alive at the largest lobster eating festival in North America. If boiling
lobsters is humane or if our hunt for the freshest possible lobster is cruel and unusual treatment of
these crustaceans. Throughout the article he only uses half of the criteria he presents as well as making
arguments based on his assumptions instead of using facts or even the opinions of scientists who
would have more knowledge on the subject than you or me could ever have. He does not seem to be
willing to change his eating or cooking habits because of his evidence ... Show more content on

whether the animal demonstrates behavior associated with pain.

introduces, if lobsters even have the necessary physiology to feel and process pain. WIthout that
information it is impossible for us to determine if they do feel pain other than just making assumptions

How Does Steinbeck Present Cain In The Bible
In John Steinbeck s East of Eden, Adam s son Cal reflects the character of Cain in the Bible. Cain is
born to Adam and Eve. When Cain and Abel present gifts to God, God favors Abel s gift. Cain grows
jealous and kills his brother out of jealousy. Though similar to Cain, John Steinbeck uses the choices
Cal makes to contrast his character to Cain in the Bible and to demonstrate that, despite being evil,
people can choose their course in life. Cal is similar to the Biblical character Cain in many ways. Both
Cal and Cain are born to men named Adam and both have brothers who are favored. In the Bible, God
curses Cain, and makes him a restless wanderer on the earth (New Jerusalem Bible, Genesis. 4:14). In
East of Eden, Cal wanders around at night, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cain hated his brother but Cal truly loves his brother. So, when Cal finds out that his mother is still
alive, he realizes that he should not tell his brother (380). Cal knows that his brother would not be able
to handle the idea of their mother being alive or even the idea that their father lied. For his brother, he
hides the secret. Cal also inspires Aron to go to college early as he tells him, I m going to try to make
some money. If you knuckle down and pass examinations a year early, why, I ll help you through
college (Steinbeck 476). Cal tries to be good to his brother, but unfortunately he lets his anger get the
best of him. After being rejected by Adam, Cal becomes jealous of Aron and ignores his conscience.
Despite the consequences, Cal tells Aron what he knows about their mother (546), which ends up
indirectly killing Aron. Aron volunteers for the war in response to finding out about their mother and
is killed in the war. Although Cal makes a couple of bad decisions, he also makes a lot of good choices
to try to be a better person. In contrast to Cain who is viewed to have hated his brother, Cal loves his
brother and feels guilty over his brother s

Ch-5 Stress Team Work
During my time working on the CH 47 structures stress team work usually came in waves. There were
only two of us working on the team, but since work had ebbed for the time being my lead felt
comfortable taking a medical leave. This effectively made me take the lead of our group while he was
away. I completed the usual lead rolls, gave updates to our manager and second level manager.
Working to keep tasks on track was both fun and challenging for me, and I liked the responsibility.
Due to the fast paced nature of our program stress often only had time to provide initial sizing and the
part would be released before we had the opportunity to complete a full stress analysis (this wasn t the
best way to design/size parts, but the method worked well most of the time). Since our slow time often
involved catching up on analysis, I was working on the formal documentation for a complex
installation when I realized the designer had made a mistake on the thickness of a critical part. To
make matters worse the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I organized a meeting across the functional groups required to redesign and sign off the part. Together
we set an aggressive schedule and found the necessary approvals to work overtime. In order to push
the installation out in as little time as possible I set a goal for the group to not make any part changes
requiring more than a numerical change to the stress analysis. This was a tough task for me because as
a young engineering I didn t have the knowledge to guide the designers at times. When needed, I
brought in a stress tech fellow from another group. I worked with each designer individually to make
sure the new design followed the sizing my analysis had set forth. Also, I organized a daily meeting to
gather all the designers together so we could make sure all the parts fit into the

Gender Expectations In Edith Wharton
Within most narratives involving women, they start with the pursuit of marriage and end with a
happily married woman. Within her novels, Edith Wharton works to demonstrate the flaws of this
understanding and present a question on the possibility of female happiness. By specifically looking at
The House of Mirth, Summer, and The Custom of the Country, exposing Wharton s stark critique of
the nature of women s involvement within a patriarchal social structure allows us to understand the
damaging effects of female gender expectations. Marriage and motherhood become the expected paths
for women and consequently, they are punished when they go outside of these expectations. By then
placing the possibility for happiness at the center, marriage becomes

Model Of A Soup Pan
What do you think of when you hear pre 1950 s music? Do think of Frank Sinatra? Ella Fitzgerald? T
Bone Walker? Well a thing all three of them have in common is that they influenced and were
influenced by the culture at the time. A great model that can represent the culture changing at the time
is my model of a soup pan. The soup pan is not perfect by any means, as in my opinion it is
impossible to perfectly show how American culture changed throughout the 1900 s. One way a soup
pan represents cultural change is how sub or fringe culture can be added to the overall culture. The
soup changes as society adds ingredients to it. If we add a carrot and onion to a tomato soup, it is not
really tomato soup anymore. It is. . .tomatonionarrt soup? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example like how classical music does not really affect today s music, classical music had been
strained out of the pot and pushed aside. Classical music is still there however, some people might not
want the soup, maybe they want to go over to the raw ingredients and eat them. They would be weird,
but they can. Another idea that supports this model is that when new generations are born they might
not like the soup being made so they slowly while mom and dad are not watching change the soup
slightly to fit their palate. As social politics progressed some of the music that was rooted in either
racism or misogyny. The new generation of people changed the definition of how to be popular. Out
went the old fashioned older white man classical musicians and in came the younger more diverse
group of singers like Ella Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald would not of been able to be popular/as popular if not
for the progression of the United State s social society. White society started to recognize African
Americans as people and not as animals or property . Society picked out the ingredients they did not
like from the soup and tossed them out while the older generation was

Social Warnings in Literature
Throughout time, works of literature have often carried messages of great social importance. It is
essential to understand these significant themes and agendas in order to understand the basis of the
novels. Throughout The Prophet s Hair by Salman Rushdie, War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells and A
Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, there is much evidence supporting the idea of social or
political warnings, one could argue, about the functionality of society and those who govern said
societies. The philosophies discovered by the reader (set there purposely by the author) provide the
means to the essential bridge between reading literature and understanding the possibilities and
comprehending the literature in question. Allegorically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Think of what earthquakes and floods, wars and volcanoes have done before to men! Did you think
God had exempted Weybridge? He is not an insurance agent.
(p.78) This quote from the narrator helps us try to understand where he is coming from. Society is
based on evolution, not miracles, as many religions suggest. Faith can only go so far; and after that,
one can only depend on himself, not the religious leader he looks to. This novel also hints at how
unprepared the government is in regards to national emergencies, from natural disasters to alien
encounters. And although the chances of humans interacting with extra terrestrial creatures are slim, it
would take an awfully closed minded person to assume that Earth is the only planet with semi
intelligent organisms. There is a lot of dependence upon the state for guidance, as well as religion.
And while the state may not be perfect to the average citizen, in times of need or trouble, they are the
religious back up. H.G. Wells is practically screaming for society to gain a sense of self rather than a
sense of spiritual acknowledgement.
The novel A Clockwork Orange is littered with ideologies regarding social and political messages and
allegorical imagery supporting Anthony Burgess pessimistic approach to life during his later years.
The coldness of reality, the societal need for revenge and the importance of free will all play a large
role in the philosophies given in the book. The

the video that relate to each function (with the exception of production/consumption of goods and

Addition of New Member The Meerkat relate to the addition of family members as they take in all
babies that are born in their horde. For example, when Flower gave birth to her babies, they took them
in. Another example is when Carlos mated with Flower s offspring. The group has a potential to bring
him in as well so that he could be a husband to Flower s offspring whom he mated with. The Meerkat
are also very territorial and so addition of new members can be rare.

Meerkat Manor: Hunter Gatherers
After watching Meerkat Manor, I believe that the group of Meerkats, called Whiskers, most resemble
the hunter gatherers. To start off, the elders within the Meerkat group would continuously hunt and
gather the food for offspring and those who cannot take of themselves anymore. Just like traditional
hunter gathers, the men would leave to gather the larger preys while the women would stay and
babysit the kids while gathering nuts, berries, herbs, and small prey which they would use to feed the
children of the group to take care and support them through their lives.
Furthermore, the hunter gatherers travel in large groups called hordes, which is what the whiskers
have been shown to do within Meerkat Manor. These large groups of Meerkat claimed land using
scent, and followed the rules that were set up the leader, who was usually a female within the hunter
gatherer society. In this case, Flower was the head of the horde as she made the rules and commands
that the group must follow. For example, when Flower s offspring became pregnant, she beat her
because she broke the rules as only Flower was allowed to get married if she wished to do

Kennel Club Research Paper
Although some would have you believe that the prevalence of genetic disorders in these dogs is
exaggerated, much evidence points the other way. Some estimates claim up to 25% of dogs registered
in the American Kennel Club have some genetic complication. (Lemonick, np.) Since American
Kennel Club breed standards only pertain to physical appearance, dogs with unseen problems are
allowed to pass on these defects, so long as exteriorly they conform to expectations. Because if this,
vast amounts of medical conditions are becoming increasingly common among registered dogs. As the
arbiter of purebred dog breeding, the American Kennel Club has a heightened responsibility to help
protect the health of the breeds they represent. Despite this, the ... Show more content on

looked like in the past. To draw on an earlier example, pugs, as seen in paintings from their initial rise
to fame, hade much more pronounced muzzles. Their faces weren t as flattened as modern pugs. Their
eyes were less bugged . They had longer legs, and a slimmer body. All of these features contributed to
avoiding the health problems common today. By looking at how pugs have appeared in the past, and
revising the breed standard with those historical examples in mind, the American Kennel Club can
strike a happy medium between modern aesthetics and historic health. This solution would work well
for many breed currently experiencing suboptimal quality of life, and could be very effective at halting

Abstract
Argentina is one of the largest countries in the world. It is sitting at the eighth largest country. It is
filled with many valuable minerals. Also, Argentina has a great background of history. It was
discovered by Juan D?az de Sol?s in early 16th century. It was disputed and is still being disputed

1529, the natives of Argentina wiped out the whole fort, while Cabot was out looking for the ?City of
Caesars.? Asunci?n and Buenos Aires played an important role in the rise of Argentina. It lured many
settlers from Spain. After the Independence Movement, the area went through some tough times. The
country fought until they were free from Spain. The government declared independence on July 9,
1816. A few years after that, the government fell apart.
The nation?s government is very similar to the government of the United States. It has a two house
congress. One house is called the Senate, and the other house is called the Chamber of Deputies. Also,

Features And Features Of Phhonology
Introduction :
Phonology is the study of sound patterns in a language ,which sounds precede or follow which others
or begin or end words; what kinds of sounds make up syllables; how the occurrence of one sound in a
particular word affects the other sounds around it; how suprasegmentals such as stress affect the
segmental sound with which they occur; and so forth.
The central concept in phonology is the phoneme, which is a distinctive category of sounds that all the
native speakers of a language or dialect perceive as more or less the same. Phoneme is the smallest
element which words in a language can be broken down into. Phonologists point out that phoneme can
be broken down into smaller constituents which are the features. Features become the centre focus in
phonological analysis. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In Cold Childhood Childhood is the most important part of life; it creates the mold that humans fit into
for the rest of their lives. Human beings, whether or not they realize, act and think based on their
childhoods and the way they had been raised. In the novel In Cold Blood, Perry Smith had a tragic
childhood; he had neither the feeling of family nor people around to help him. Later in life, Perry met
Dick Hickock, who was somebody he often viewed as a friend and somebody to be around, even
though Dick often manipulated Perry. Eventually, Perry killed four people in order to stay close with
Dick, considering that he had nobody else. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dick never abandoned Perry, which allowed Perry appreciate Dick s company, even though Dick used
him for his own benefit. Perry s relationship with Dick reflects how he feels about the disaster in his
family during his childhood. His parents splitting up showed how unstable of a relationship they had,
while his relationship with Dick remained stable. He did whatever he could to stay close with Dick,
considering that his family was never close when he was younger.
Additionally, after Perry s mother found out that he was making an effort to see his father, she threw
him out and sent him to a Catholic orphanage for defying her orders. He often faced physical and
mental abuse. As he mentioned about the dreaded place in the novel, ...The one where the Black
Widows were always at me. Hitting me. Because of wetting the bed. Which is one reason I have an
aversion to nuns... (Capote 132) Additionally, nobody at the orphanage stuck up for him as he was
mistreated; nobody liked him or had his back. Dick, on the other hand, started to truly become fond of
Perry; as it is mentioned in the novel, ... but Dick became convinced that Perry was that rarity, a
natural killer absolutely sane, but conscienceless, and capable of dealing, with or without motive, the
coldest blooded deathblows. It was Dick s theory that such a gift could, under his

Differences Between Seventeenth Century England And 17th...
The following are the primary differences between the political paths of seventeenth century England
and the seventeenth century France. Factors that led their different political paths was the military
concerns. Changes in military organization, weapons, and tactics that sharply increased the cost of
warfare. Monarch sought new sales with the growing expenses. Seventeenth century is a time when
the rulers of France were becoming more and more absolutist, England was moving away from
absolutism. The seventeenth century was the time of Louis XIV. He was known as the Sun King and
declared himself “without equal.” He is generally considered to be the most powerful monarch
to ever rule in Western Europe. Louis ruled with an iron fist, and never became dependent on a single
advisor. He often spied on ministers, even opening their mail. In religious matters, Louis revoked the
Edict of Nantes primarily to prevent religious differences from erupting into a civil conflict. Louis
XIV took absolutism to extremes, claiming to be a servant of God (the divine right of Kings ) and
dissolving France s only general assembly. Why absolutism failed in England but grew in France is
due mainly to the political situation in each country when the idea was first introduced. In England,
the English people had been proud of their rights as Englishmen which dated to the Magna Carta of
1215. They were never ruled by an absolute monarch and had no intention of submitting. When
Charles I attempted to dissolve Parliament and finally declared war on it, he was executed for treason,
the first monarch to be executed by his own people. After a brief experiment with the Protectorate of
Oliver Cromwell, Charles II returned to England as monarch. He was succeeded by James II who also
isolated (divided) the English people and was forced to flee. At the invitation of Parliament William of
Orange (in the Netherlands) and James daughter Mary were invited to assume the English throne; (this
was the Glorious Revolution of 1688) but were required of accepting the Throne to sign the English
Bill of Rights, which stated the monarch could not suspend laws passed by Parliament, judges would

Dickman, C. R., Australian Nature Conservation Agency, University of Sydney, Invasive Species
Program (Australia). (1996). Overview of the impacts of feral cats on Australian native fauna.
Canberra, ACT: Australian Nature Conservation Agency.
Content Summary
In this book the authors review impact of feral cats. Feral cats have major or minor impacts on the
Australian native wildlife some of which are competitive, amensal, and predatory. The Competitive
impact caused by cats is on large predatory species by loss of prey. Amensal impact is most likely
cause by transmission of diseases. And predatory impact on native wildlife has been identified by
historical evidence. Many conclusions can be made from this evidence. Mammals make up a large
part of a feral cats diet. They target mammals weighing up to 2kg, and birds up to 1kg. But they prefer
prey weighing less then approximately 200grams in Mainland Australia. ... Show more content on

Australia has the worlds worst record for extinct mammals, 28 species and sub species mostly
marsupials since European explorers and settlers arrived. Most of these extinctions have been linked
to feral cats and other introduced species. Cats have developed there skills over millions of years and
they a fast and silent killers. The US Fish and Wildlife Service has revealed that feral and domestic
cats kill an estimated 2.4 billion birds and 12.3 billion mammals each year most of which are native.
No such large studies have been performed in Australia. However The Australian Wildlife
Conservancy released a report, which estimated the impact of 5 to 18 million feral cats on native
Australian species, such as the numbat or bilby. Each cat can potentially take from 5 to 30 animals a

Abstract. Now a day s heatstroke in vehicles is rapid problems in every part of the world.. As the
windows of car are relatively transparent to sun s radiations and warmed little. This shortwave energy
heats the objects where it strikes like dark dashboard and seat can easily reach the temperature in the

Reasons The Trials Of Witch Trials
Were people accused of witchcraft given fair trials? In my opinion, they were not. Based on the
information gathered from the three documents, many of the men and women accused of witchcraft
were doomed before the trial even took place. There are many reasons as to why the trials were unfair
before they even started. First, a big reason why the trials were so unfair was because of the church.
They could use their influence on society to decide who has jurisdiction over certain areas, giving
inquisitors legal power over areas they may not have otherwise had. Another reason the trials were
unfair is the suspected party did not really get to defend themselves, and even if they tried to, they
could be found guilty anyway. However, the biggest reason I think the trials were unfair was because
of the Malleus Maleficarum, where it mentions torture of prisoners with the intention of getting
confessions. The Papal Bull of 1484 was important because it shows that Pope Innocent VIII not only
openly acknowledged witchcraft as a threat, but also gives encouragement to witch hunts. Desiring
with supreme ardor, as pastoral solicitude requires, that the catholic faith in our days everywhere grow
and flourish as much as possible, and that all heretical depravity be put far from the territories of the
faithful, we freely declare and a new decree this by which our pious desire may be fulfilled, and, all

this wild behavior by bursting over the ridge at full gallop...coming [Pi s] way high speed (Martel
263). Pi describes this event as a rapid and direct approach of a known killer which casts a different
image of Richard Parker than the previous seemingly harmless companion (Martel 236). Pi s reaction
to his fear is using his method of whistle which causes more anger within Richard Parker. Richard
Parker s unexpected reaction to the training method proves how capricious a personality of an animal
is. Thus, attempted taming of a wild animal was merely a distant goal Pi thought he had accomplished.
The violent outbreak of Richard Parker, along with his silent departure at the end of the novel,
portrays how futile it is to try to change a wild animal into a civilized being. Richard Parker seems, at
first, to have experienced a spiritual breakthrough and transformation after Pi s attempt to training.
Even in the end, Pi s ability to survive such a journey with a beastly killer seems evidence enough that
Pi trained the tiger. Pi s main goal, along with survival, is to establish a level of equality between

The Four Main Causes Of World War One
Pro: The United States was successfully able to end WW1. The Great War was a conflict that occurred
in 1914 between the Triple Alliance (Germany, Italy, Austria Hungary) and the Triple Entente (Britain,
France, Russia). The four main causes were militarism, alliance, imperialism, and nationalism, which
concentrated on the forms of management. The alliance was built between foreign nations in case of a
conflict due to the great amount of tension and interests of surpassing others. The event that sparked
the first World War was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. Due to the alliance,
one nation after another was brought into the conflict. If the confrontation is reevaluated and

Fatty Junk Food Tax
Should we put a Tax on Fatty Junk Food and Drinks? Ninety four percent of all Americans eat high
amounts of junk foods and one third of all Americans are considered obese. We can put a stop to this
situation. I think a separate government tax should be placed on fatty junk food and drinks because it
will make less people become obese and make more people want to eat cheaper and healthier things.
First of all, a junk food tax needs to be placed to end the obesity and diabetes epidemic. For example,
too many people are suffering from diabetes, but CEOs of companies like Lay s and Pepsi don t really
care. According to Authority Nutrition,
There is no decency to the way junk food companies do their marketing. All they care about is profit

The Passionate Shepherd
Marlowe s The Passionate Shepherd to His Love, and Raleigh s The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd,
are both amazing poems that we can t help but want to compare and contrast. The sassy Nymph who
turns away the Shepherd s declare of love. The Shepherd, who offers material objects to show his
love, and the Nymph, the fair maiden who denies his feelings; the tales of unrequited love. The
Passionate Shepherd to His Love portrays a world of love and feelings. The Shepherd offers wondrous
gifts to his love in hopes that he will capture her heart. Marlowe used soft imagery, making the poem
feel lovely and sweet. The Shepherd is seen as a man with a good heart and appears to have good
intentions. The Shepherd offers a bed of roses, and a gown of the finest wool. And we will sit upon the
rocks, seeing the shepherds feed their flocks, by shallow rivers to whose falls melodious birds sing
madrigals. In this quote, he offers her a lovely day of peace and love. ... Show more content on

The Shepherd s gifts, forgotten and unwanted, for they are material items that can wither. The Nymph
accuses the Shepherd for lying, saying that he holds no truth to his words. The time passes, and it as if
she says that she doesn t want to waste her love and time on someone who promises empty words. The
imagery in this poem is much darker, making the happy imagery from The Passionate Shepherd to His
Love rough and cold. An example of the Nymph changing the imagery is, Time drives the flocks from
field to fold when rivers rage and rocks grow cold, and Philomel becometh dumb; The rest complains

Porter s Five Forces
Five Forces Analysis
Michael Porter s Five Forces Analysis is a framework that used for industry analysis and understand
the level of competition in an industry in order to develop business strategy (Tang, 2014). There are
two key players in the local malt liquor market (MLM) industry of Malaysia, GAB Berhad and CBMB
who have occupied 95% of the total beer and stout market shares in Malaysia (CMBB, 2015).
Therefore, the competition among existing brewers are low as there are only two major brewers in the
local MLM industry. The threat of new entrants is minimum as government policies and complicated
tax on beers have restricted other investors in the market. The switching cost among competitors is
low as the price difference between the products of competitors are minimised. This has been proved
by a research, which has been done at a local shopping centre, Aeon Mahkota Cheras Store Shopping
Centre, which located in Cheras, Selangor, Malaysia. As figure11 shown, the minimum price
difference between a competitor is only RM1.00 for mainstream product, and the maximum price
difference is RM3.00 for Premium beer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast The Left Hand Of Darkness And The...
The Left Hand of Darkness and The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas seems to be two absolutely
different books. Their main contents seems to be unrelated, one talks about one people s adventure and
the other illustrates some facts about one city. However, to a certain extent, this short article seems to
be the miniature of the Left Hand of Darkness and only different in some details and ways of
expression.
Some of the people s characteristics, opinions, and even the plots from two different pieces are similar
to each other. To begin with, backgrounds of both works are imaginary cities or countries, Winter
Planet and Omelas , which are away from the real world, locating in somewhere unknown. Based on
the setting, both authors could imagine and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, the reason that the kid sacrifices himself in order to protect the whole country is different
from Estraven s. The kid is forced to do so. He used to be enveloped by his family s love, but now he
has no choice but to be locked in the basement. Maybe he does not even know why his should stay
there and why he is not allowed to visit his mother, and maybe one day he will forget those questions
and get accustomed to the situation. Meanwhile, Estraven isn t the same. He did so is completely out
of his personal will. Though Leguin does not make his true motive clear in the book, Estraven
eventually sacrifices himself, rather than escaping away. He even commits suicide, the most horrible
way to die in Winter Planet, to ensure Ai successfully meets the king and contacts with his spaceship.
Moreover, the works are narrated in two different ways. In the article, author uses the first person I to
describe the facts about Omelas. It makes readers feel like there s a story teller is describing a world in
fancy, and he sometimes introduces his personal view in it. However, the book is completely based on
experience of Ai and Estraven. What readers know are limited to what they know; therefore, readers
do not know what happens to the king when Ai and Estraven are away; readers do not know what
those foretellers think and how they make prediction. This provides

The Advantages Of Asexual And Sexual Devices
Both asexual and sexual reproduction results in offspring with [think of good topic sentence. . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . .]. Asexual reproduction results in offspring with identical genetic information, and
sexual reproduction results in offspring with genetic variation.
Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction that creates uniform offspring. Asexual reproduction
occurs mainly in single celled organisms (organisms with one cell), and in a few multicellular
organisms (an organism with more than one cell). Two examples of single celled organisms are
bacteria and amoeba. Bacteria is a single celled organism forming one of the three domains of life.
Amoeba is a single celled animal that catches food and moves about by extending fingerlike
projections of protoplasm. Asexual reproduction requires one parent, and the ... Show more content on

One advantage of sexual reproduction is that it creates offspring with a high genetic variability. This
will increase the diversity of species and the ecosystem since the offspring is diverse. For example,
female lions give birth to about one to five cubs, and all the cubs are genetically different. This will
increase the diversity of lions. Whereas asexual reproduction produces offspring that has the same
genetics as its parent, which lowers the diversity rate of organisms. Another advantage of sexual
reproduction is better agriculture. This is because selective breeding can apply to sexually produced
organisms. Selective breeding when parent organisms are chosen to mate, which produces more
desirable and better plants and animals. An example of selective breeding is corn. Corn used to be
much smaller, and had fewer rows of kernels, however, farmers saved kernels from good plants and
planted them to create more desirable plants like corn, leading better agriculture. Asexual organisms
don t reproduce sexually, so they can t go through selective

Rules On How It Could Be Connected
rules on how it could be connected. Suggestions can likewise be self governing, i.e. not connected to
any convention. Conventions and proposals are drawn up by agents of governments, bosses, and
specialists and are received at the ILO s yearly International Labor Conference. Once a standard is
embraced, part states are required under the ILO Constitution to submit them to their skilled power
(regularly the parliament) for thought (Hughes Haworth, 2011). On account of traditions, this implies
thought for sanction. If it is confirmed, a convention, for the most part, comes into the drive for that
nation one year after the date of confirmation. Approving nations confer themselves to applying the
Convention in national law and practice and giving an account of its application at customary
interims. The ILO gives specialized help if fundamental. Likewise, representation and grievance
strategies can be started against nations for infringement of a tradition they have confirmed 
Fundamental Conventions The ILO s Governing Body has distinguished eight conventions as primary

In source 1, an article written by the ASDF (Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation), from the website
www.myasdf.org , assessed in 2012, with the title How your child can Benefit from Equine Therapy),
it states that Autistic children/people benefit immensely from Equine Therapy (horse encounters).
For thousands of years the bond between man and animal has proven to be effective in creating an
emotional, healing bond. Children/people with autism also benefit from equine therapy due to the
motor, emotional and sensory sensations that come with riding a horse. Equine Therapy is seen as the
most mysterious yet beautiful form of intervention for Autistic people.
A significant amount of benefits and improvements were found using Equine Therapy for Autistic

therapy for autistic children allows the participants to use their muscles to control the movement of the

developed. The motivating nature of the activities makes them ideal for encouraging communication.
The inability to communicate effectively can be extremely frustrating for people on the autism
spectrum. Although people diagnosed with Asperger s syndrome may not exhibit problems with
language, some significant difficulties with communication are apparent when you look at details
about Aspergers closely. Equestrian programs for autistic children promote communication. The child
is highly motivated to use language and signs to ask to ride, continue riding, and to interact with the

Uses Of Symbolism In Maus By Vladek Spiegelman
The Holocaust was a horrible atrocity. This event killed six million jews and seventeen million victims
overall, but many jews survived to tell the story of how it was inside the camps and how they were
treated. One was Vladek Spiegelman, a resourceful man that had it rough during the Holocaust. His
son, Artie Spiegelman, wrote the book Maus which he tells the story of his father when he was in
Auschwitz and tells about his life in the time Artie is writing the book. In Artie s book, Maus, he uses
a lot of symbolism in his work to get his point across. In Maus, Art Spiegelman uses symbolism to
help the readers understand his characters and the conflicts they face, along with much more. To find
symbolism, one must first know the meaning of the term. Symbolism is defined as the use of symbols
to represent ideas or qualities. Symbolism is used all the time to help the audience understand what
they are reading or seeing. Artie uses symbolism to define the characters he put in the book by
drawing them as animals instead of humans. He also had different examples of symbolism like the
conflict on the character s mask, his father s resourcefulness, his mother s journal, and the swastika
pathway that he put in the book to help readers understand.
The first example of symbolism that caught reader s attention was the characters in his book. Artie
depicted them as animals and not just any animals, animals that described their ethnicity. The Jews
were mice, scared rodents

  • 3. How Does Steinbeck Present Cain In The Bible In John Steinbeck s East of Eden, Adam s son Cal reflects the character of Cain in the Bible. Cain is born to Adam and Eve. When Cain and Abel present gifts to God, God favors Abel s gift. Cain grows jealous and kills his brother out of jealousy. Though similar to Cain, John Steinbeck uses the choices Cal makes to contrast his character to Cain in the Bible and to demonstrate that, despite being evil, people can choose their course in life. Cal is similar to the Biblical character Cain in many ways. Both Cal and Cain are born to men named Adam and both have brothers who are favored. In the Bible, God curses Cain, and makes him a restless wanderer on the earth (New Jerusalem Bible, Genesis. 4:14). In East of Eden, Cal wanders around at night, ... Cal also inspires Aron to go to college early as he tells him, I m going to try to make some money. If you knuckle down and pass examinations a year early, why, I ll help you through college (Steinbeck 476). Cal tries to be good to his brother, but unfortunately he lets his anger get the best of him. After being rejected by Adam, Cal becomes jealous of Aron and ignores his conscience. Despite the consequences, Cal tells Aron what he knows about their mother (546), which ends up indirectly killing Aron. Aron volunteers for the war in response to finding out about their mother and is killed in the war. There were only two of us working on the team, but since work had ebbed for the time being my lead felt comfortable taking a medical leave. This effectively made me take the lead of our group while he was away. I completed the usual lead rolls, gave updates to our manager and second level manager. Working to keep tasks on track was both fun and challenging for me, and I liked the responsibility. Due to the fast paced nature of our program stress often only had time to provide initial sizing and the part would be released before we had the opportunity to complete a full stress analysis (this wasn t the best way to design/size parts, but the method worked well most of the time). Within her novels, Edith Wharton works to demonstrate the flaws of this understanding and present a question on the possibility of female happiness. By specifically looking at The House of Mirth, Summer, and The Custom of the Country, exposing Wharton s stark critique of the nature of women s involvement within a patriarchal social structure allows us to understand the damaging effects of female gender expectations. Marriage and motherhood become the expected paths for women and consequently, they are punished when they go outside of these expectations. Well a thing all three of them have in common is that they influenced and were influenced by the culture at the time. A great model that can represent the culture changing at the time is my model of a soup pan. The soup pan is not perfect by any means, as in my opinion it is impossible to perfectly show how American culture changed throughout the 1900 s. One way a soup pan represents cultural change is how sub or fringe culture can be added to the overall culture. The soup changes as society adds ingredients to it. It is essential to understand these significant themes and agendas in order to understand the basis of the novels. Throughout The Prophet s Hair by Salman Rushdie, War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells and A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, there is much evidence supporting the idea of social or political warnings, one could argue, about the functionality of society and those who govern said societies. This novel also hints at how unprepared the government is in regards to national emergencies, from natural disasters to alien encounters. • 13. Differences Between Seventeenth Century England And 17th... The following are the primary differences between the political paths of seventeenth century England and the seventeenth century France. Factors that led their different political paths was the military concerns. Changes in military organization, weapons, and tactics that sharply increased the cost of warfare. Monarch sought new sales with the growing expenses. Seventeenth century is a time when the rulers of France were becoming more and more absolutist, England was moving away from absolutism. The seventeenth century was the time of Louis XIV. He was known as the Sun King and declared himself “without equal.” He is generally considered to be the most powerful monarch to ever rule in Western Europe. Louis ruled with an iron fist, and never became dependent on a single advisor. He often spied on ministers, even opening their mail. In religious matters, Louis revoked the Edict of Nantes primarily to prevent religious differences from erupting into a civil conflict. Louis XIV took absolutism to extremes, claiming to be a servant of God (the divine right of Kings ) and dissolving France s only general assembly. Why absolutism failed in England but grew in France is due mainly to the political situation in each country when the idea was first introduced. In England, the English people had been proud of their rights as Englishmen which dated to the Magna Carta of 1215. They were never ruled by an absolute monarch and had no intention of submitting. When Charles I attempted to dissolve Parliament and finally declared war on it, he was executed for treason, the first monarch to be executed by his own people. After a brief experiment with the Protectorate of Oliver Cromwell, Charles II returned to England as monarch. He was succeeded by James II who also isolated (divided) the English people and was forced to flee. At the invitation of Parliament William of Orange (in the Netherlands) and James daughter Mary were invited to assume the English throne; (this was the Glorious Revolution of 1688) but were required of accepting the Throne to sign the English Bill of Rights, which stated the monarch could not suspend laws passed by Parliament, judges would hold office during good ... • 19. Reasons The Trials Of Witch Trials Were people accused of witchcraft given fair trials? In my opinion, they were not. Based on the information gathered from the three documents, many of the men and women accused of witchcraft were doomed before the trial even took place. There are many reasons as to why the trials were unfair before they even started. First, a big reason why the trials were so unfair was because of the church. They could use their influence on society to decide who has jurisdiction over certain areas, giving inquisitors legal power over areas they may not have otherwise had. Another reason the trials were unfair is the suspected party did not really get to defend themselves, and even if they tried to, they could be found guilty anyway. However, the biggest reason I think the trials were unfair was because of the Malleus Maleficarum, where it mentions torture of prisoners with the intention of getting confessions. The Papal Bull of 1484 was important because it shows that Pope Innocent VIII not only openly acknowledged witchcraft as a threat, but also gives encouragement to witch hunts. Desiring with supreme ardor, as pastoral solicitude requires, that the catholic faith in our days everywhere grow and flourish as much as possible, and that all heretical depravity be put far from the territories of the faithful, we freely declare and a new decree this by which our pious desire may be fulfilled, and, all errors being rooted out by our toil as with the hoe of a wise laborer, zeal and ... Being more comfortable around such a beast, however, later proves to be a fault of Pi s. The unpredictable behavior of such a wild animal causes a huge threat to Pi. Richard Parker exemplifies this wild behavior by bursting over the ridge at full gallop...coming [Pi s] way high speed (Martel 263). Pi describes this event as a rapid and direct approach of a known killer which casts a different image of Richard Parker than the previous seemingly harmless companion (Martel 236). Pi s reaction to his fear is using his method of whistle which causes more anger within Richard Parker. Richard Parker s unexpected reaction to the training method proves how capricious a personality of an animal is. Thus, attempted taming of a wild animal was merely a distant goal Pi thought he had accomplished. The violent outbreak of Richard Parker, along with his silent departure at the end of the novel, portrays how futile it is to try to change a wild animal into a civilized being. The Passionate Shepherd Marlowe s The Passionate Shepherd to His Love, and Raleigh s The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd, are both amazing poems that we can t help but want to compare and contrast. The sassy Nymph who turns away the Shepherd s declare of love. The Shepherd, who offers material objects to show his love, and the Nymph, the fair maiden who denies his feelings; the tales of unrequited love. The Passionate Shepherd to His Love portrays a world of love and feelings. The Shepherd offers wondrous gifts to his love in hopes that he will capture her heart. Marlowe used soft imagery, making the poem feel lovely and sweet. The Shepherd is seen as a man with a good heart and appears to have good intentions. The Shepherd offers a bed of roses, and a gown of the finest wool. Porter s Five Forces Five Forces Analysis Michael Porter s Five Forces Analysis is a framework that used for industry analysis and understand the level of competition in an industry in order to develop business strategy (Tang, 2014). There are two key players in the local malt liquor market (MLM) industry of Malaysia, GAB Berhad and CBMB who have occupied 95% of the total beer and stout market shares in Malaysia (CMBB, 2015). Therefore, the competition among existing brewers are low as there are only two major brewers in the local MLM industry. The threat of new entrants is minimum as government policies and complicated tax on beers have restricted other investors in the market. The switching cost among competitors is low as the price difference between the products of competitors are minimised. This has been proved by a research, which has been done at a local shopping centre, Aeon Mahkota Cheras Store Shopping Centre, which located in Cheras, Selangor, Malaysia. Asexual reproduction results in offspring with identical genetic information, and sexual reproduction results in offspring with genetic variation.
