Conduct the talk next to the scaffold to be used.
Falling from height is likely to cause severe injury
or even death. One fitter died when he fell from 1-
meter high scaffold. The scaffold did not have
handrails and before the fall the fitter was hit in
his forehead by a piece from a broken flogging
hammer. A helper died when he fell from a make
shift working platform at 12 meters elevation,
during a panic situation at plant emergency. In
both these tragic accidents, a safe scaffold might
have saved their lives.
2. Only use a scaffold with “READY FOR USE
TAG”. Show tag and point out key elements of
scaffold;
3. Scaffolding Stability : (Bracing, Max. 2.4 meter distance
between vertical scaffolds. Make certain that First
horizontal scaffold at 2.2 meter height to avoid any
injury to the persons
12. Check access / escape route / ladder before
climbing up. Think over how to escape in case
of emergency
13. Your hands must be free to hold the ladder. Do not hold
tools and material in your hands. Do not rush up or
down. Do not move hand and foot at the same time. 3
points contact. Ask someone to demonstrate or
demonstrate yourself.
14. Bring tools and material (specify which) by
rope / bucket up and down. Ask for the rope /
bucket to be demonstrated.

While working at height keep tools and

risk of falling down on people walking /
working under the scaffold during work. Ask
for demonstration. How to secure tools and
material from falling? Never leave loose
objects on the platform that could fall down.
