My Visit to Centennial Village Historical Site in Greeley
I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed visiting the Centennial Village historical site
in Greeley. I happened to visit this museum on the perfect day because there were children from
different schools dressed up and living how the people in Northern Colorado lived more than
100 years ago. With the children all dressed up like people used to dress, and doing the chores
that they used to take on really made it the feel like I was back in time. I got to experience dozens
of historical sites, live animals, schools, and businesses that really helped me understand part of

I have chosen two completely different genres to base my essay on.
Firstly, I have the mysterious and gripping Ghost Genre; the books I have studied are The Woman
in Black , The Langoliers and the spooky film, The Others . The second genre is Fantasy Adventure.
The book
I am studying is Lirael , a recent book written by Australian author
Garth Nix. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring , directed by Peter Jackson is the
film that I am analysing.
There are many, definite trends to ghost stories, no matter what the novel is about. They are all

In the ghost story film The Others , an unnerving atmosphere is set straight away. It begins with
cheerful, but strange music, and then a woman is shown screaming, making you wonder what has
just occurred.
This is the perfect beginning for a novel under the ghost story genre.
Further on into the film, we learn that the children who live in the house are ultra sensitive to any
bright light. This adds to the strangeness of the story, possibly scaring the viewer and making them
believe that the characters are quite strange.
The majority of all ghost stories are set in the winter months because the weather is bad and when
it is like this, bad things usually happen. The main character usually gets themselves into a spot of
bother due to either the torrential rain, snow or a storm. It is highly unlikely for a ghost story to be
set in sunny or cheerful surroundings. It is the dark, dismal and eerie atmosphere that adds to the
scariness.
In both The Others and Susan Hill s The Woman in Black, death is a key factor in the story line.
Dying is always used because if somebody had not died, there would be no ghost to haunt the major
character in the novel. In The Woman in Black , narrator and main character Arthur
Kipps is constantly haunted by the sound of a pony and trap being pulled under a marsh by

There are several different types of data collection methods. It is up to the researcher to decide if
one type of data collection will be used or if several types of data collection will be used. Data can
be collected through observation, reanalysis of existing data, questionnaires, or interviews (Hagan,
2010).
It should be mentioned that data collection is in fact the research step. This step can be very
involved and time consuming. A person will be required to gather any and all information
available on their chosen subject. If the desired information is lacking, then he or she will need to
create the data. This data will then need to be compiled into one place for the researcher to analyze
it. After analyzing the data, any and all findings should be presented. This can be a rather lengthy
step because summarizing, reporting, statistically analyzing, and presenting the findings can
consume more time than all the other steps combined (Hagan, 2010).
Finally, conclusions, interpretations, and limitations should be drawn from the research. This is
the step in which the researcher will explain what he or she believes the study has to say.
Throughout the research process and especially at this juncture, the researcher must take care to
keep his or her personal beliefs and feelings out of their work (Hagan, 2010).

Laurence made a habit of leaving the cabin at first light. He liked the idea that his mother might
be totally oblivious to whether or not he came home at all during the evening. He had spent the

For example, they differ in the language that they present and the diction that they use. Both X
and Henry use powerful diction throughout their speeches however, X s diction is meant to be
more emotion provoking. Henry does attempt to provoke thought as well as emotion from the

read the dialogue Apology by Plato. The Apology Dialogue is what Plato recorded during the
speech Socrates gave to the court defending himself against the charges of corrupting the young,

The author, Jackie Stacey is a British feminist film historian. The main goal of her research is to
understand the specific pleasure and engagements of British cinema audiences in the 1940s and

All of our water samples were collected from different areas. Sample 1 was collected from a
home in Fostoria Ohio that has well water. Sample 2 was taken from Honors Academic Village

The industry average current ratio for the year 2000 was 0.6, while for the quick ratio it equaled 0.3.
These numbers come out to be lower than what is considered average for a normal manufacturing
company in which a satisfactory current ratio is 2.0 while a good quick ratio is considered 1.5.
However according to my research on the industry those numbers seem to be the norm.
We can see that Brinker has the better ratio s as far as liquidity is concerned with a slightly better
ratio in both the current ratio and quick ratio than Darden. Brinker is also more in line with the

Due to numerous etiologies that will lead to cardiac arrest there is a potential for variable
mortality reporting and therefore it is conceivable this number is misrepresented. A more
accurate estimation of the burden of cardiac arrests can be elucidated from ROC data where the
incidence of EMS treated OHCA was found to be 73.0 individuals per 100,000 population (95%
CI, 71.2 74.7) for adults and 7.3 per 100,000 population (95% CI, 6.3 8.3) for children 18 years
old (heart disease and stroke). As compared to an overall incidence rate, individuals who have
received treatment by EMS have the most potential for survival as this excludes arrest events
