This document presents a method for statically estimating the frequency of path execution in programs without running them. It trains a logistic regression classifier on features of paths to predict their relative runtime frequencies based on programs with known execution profiles. Evaluation on SPEC JVM98 benchmarks found the top predicted paths account for 50% of runtime with 5% of paths or 94% with the top path per method, performing comparably to static branch predictors. The approach aims to provide static profiling information to aid other program analyses.
