◦ Mosman Council developed it’s first Parking Strategy in 2008
◦ The recommendations all seemed too hard
◦ Resident Surveys continued to show that Parking and Traffic was
the biggest issue in Mosman
◦ In 2014 Mosman Council undertook a wide-ranging community
consultation and engagement program to determine what people
thought

◦ NO ONE CARED…
◦ Despite mail outs, workshops, ad’s in the paper only 14 people
showed up
◦ And they raised issues like:
◦ There is a boat parked in my street that I don’t like
◦ My neighbor has bought his 4 kids all fancy cars and because they only
have a 4 car garage some of the kids park their cars on the street
5. The Response
◦ Council realised it was time they needed to make a decision
◦ Smart Technology was installed
◦ Council installed on and off street technology through
Military Road
6. The Response
◦ This Technology was linked to dynamic signage throughout the
area
8. The Take up
◦ Mosman was one of the first NSW Councils to install this
technology on street and link it to an app
◦ Since then we have received multiple calls from other Councils
both in NSW and interstate
◦ The community has responded with over 450 downloads of the
app in 3 months
