of Francisco Franco.
Between 1938 and 1939
the number of people
who wanted to exile from
Catalonia increased.

It was a route to the exile.
Situation: the Pyrenees.
Many important people took this way to the exile.
Famous artists: Pau Casals and Pablo Picasso.
Politicians: Lluís Companys and Manuel Azaña.
4. NEGRIN'S HOUSE
Built from 1937 to 1939.
When Juan Negrín was
the president.
To hide paintings of the
Prado museum and gold
from the Spanish bank.
The house was hidden to
avoid Franco's attack.
Nowadays it is
abandoned.
