The document discusses the growth of cloud computing and its impact on IT service delivery. It provides revenue projections for different cloud service models like SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS. Examples of cloud reference architectures from IBM, HP, Fujitsu, and Dell are presented. The role of internal IT is changing with more focus on compliance, security and data protection with the adoption of public and hybrid cloud services. Case studies of enterprises adopting cloud and forecasts for different cloud service markets are also summarized.
Innovations in Grid Computing with Oracle CoherenceBob Rhubart
Learn how Coherence can increase the availability, scalability and performance of your existing applications with its advanced low-latency data-grid technologies. Also hear some interesting industry-specific use cases that customers had implemented and how Oracle is integrating Coherence into its Enterprise Java stack.
Cloud Computing - A Pragmatic Approach to Cloud AdoptionBob Rhubart
The road to Cloud Computing is not without a few bumps. This session will help to smooth out your journey by tackling some of the potential complications. We'll examine whether standardization is a prerequisite for the Cloud. We'll look at why refactoring isn't just for application code. We'll check out deployable entities and their simplification via higher levels of abstraction. And we'll close out the session with a look at engineered systems and modular clouds.
Business Integration for the 21st Century Bob Rhubart
Service Oriented Architecture has evolved from concept to reality in the last decade. The right methodology coupled with mature SOA technologies has helped customers demonstrate success in both innovation and ROI. In this session you will learn how Oracle SOA Suite's orchestration, virtualization, and governance capabilities provide the infrastructure to run mission critical business and system applications. And we'll take a special look at the convergence of SOA & BPM using Oracle's Unified technology stack.

Internap’s Adam Weissmuller and Michael Carman of VMware discuss different paths businesses take toward cloud adoption, how to evolve your own cloud strategy and key considerations for choosing a pro
The cloud computing market is growing rapidly, and the latest Gartner Hype Cycle shows that the hype around it has recently transformed into reality. In fact, eighty percent of Fortune 1000 companies are adopting cloud-operating models.
Cloud has significant implications on many roles within an organization and on IT service management. These implications on service management are increasing the discussions around the application and relevance of ITIL in cloud environments.
Organizations and professionals are looking to:
Develop cloud competencies to adopt cloud computing
Understand how cloud computing impacts service management
Adapt the ITIL framework to fit a cloud environment
Have a look and examine whether this can be a successful marriage or if a prenuptial agreement is required!

On March 14th, IBM Cloud Integration CTO Rishi Vaish and IBM Senior Product Marketing Manager Jaime D'Anna held a live interactive video chat with moderator, IBM Impact Social Media Strategist Ryan Boyles.
This interactive video chat series brings together thought leaders from IBM to share their experiences of how the tech world is changing, and what some customers are doing with the help of IBM Software.
This session will provide attendees with an overview of Enterprise Cloud Computing and how technology and service solutions from Cisco will enable to path to private cloud computing. Cloud computing is changing the economics and operations of IT. IT organizations are consolidating IT resources around consistent building blocks, virtualizing those resources to increase efficiency and flexibility, and automating service creation processes.

This is my 75 minutes "highlights" presentation on what's new in WS2012 R2. It's not all encompassing - intended just to get across the key points of the core OS. It followed a "Cloud OS" keynote and preceded a "System Center hybrid cloud" presentation.

9. The changing role of internal IT
• Adopting public or hybrid Cloud services grows in complexity with organisational
size
– Small organisations can extend free-to-use consumer applications
– Medium sized companies may build future IT exclusively on Cloud services
– Larger organisations tend to concentrate on test-and-development and
consumer focused initiatives first
• SLAs – badly implemented in many internal systems – are an essential feature
of Cloud services
• Many companies have subscribed to salesforce.com – but this is not a multi-
tenanted solution
• Modifying internal infrastructures and concentrating on compliance, security and
data protection needs clear sighed policies
• Benefits are in shifting Cap Ex to Op Ex, reducing TCO, cutting ‘management’
costs, speeding up time-to-implementation and closer ties between IT and
business
ITC Market Forecast ITCandor 2012
11. Enterprise, Government and Service
Provider developments
• Paychex (HP reference) cut data centre spending – everyone wants
Cloud, shame they didn’t think about SLAs first
• Bharti Telecom (IBM reference) Bharti Telecom added 2.5 million
downloads for its mobile customers in the first month
• ComputerLINKS introduced ALVEA services, Arrow works on SaaS,
other distributors implement Jamcracker
• The UK Government G-Cloud is designed to share IT throughout
central government
• The Sanctuary Group (Symantec reference) uses desktop
virtualisation to deliver services internally
ITC Market Forecast ITCandor 2012
12. Summary and conclusions
• Enterprises need a Cloud service catalogue and desk, need to think
about their own reference architecture and implementation
• Public Clouds adoption - test and development, moving to social
business, collaboration in production – few mission critical applications
• Systems vendors suggest reference architectures to help mix – look for
Open Standards and multi-vendor choices
• Public Clouds could help reduce the inordinate amount of time large
companies spend on ‘keeping the lights on’
• A growing number of references of public and hybrid Cloud adoption
• We forecast SaaS, IaaS, PaaS and BPaaS as having a strong future
