The AIM Model
Analysis, Intention, Measure
The AIM model is a tool designed to capture how individuals are
currently using, and how they intend to use, digital technology in
teaching and learning.
They are split into six dimensions of teaching and learning and are
designed to be used in 3 stages:
1. Analysis stage to understand current practice
2. Intention stage to reflect on changes and to create movement
along the dimensions
3. Measure stage to summarise progress ands suggest next steps
The Six Dimensions
1. Investigating: finding and evaluating information relevant to your topic
2. Motivating: providing a stimulating and engaging environment
3. Differentiating: adapting your teaching for all learners
4. Planning: structuring your teaching and learning across time
5. Collaborating: harnessing peer knowledge to enhance learning
6. Assessing: undertaking formative and summative assessment
