Text Messaging Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Text Messaging" may initially seem like a straightforward task,
given the ubiquity of text messaging in today's society. However, delving into the intricacies of
the subject reveals a complexity that demands careful consideration.
Firstly, one must navigate through the vast amount of information available on text messaging.
The evolution of this communication medium, its impact on language and social interaction, and
the constant technological advancements that shape its future are just a few aspects that require
thorough research.
Crafting a coherent and engaging essay also involves addressing various perspectives. Text
messaging is not a uniform experience for everyone. Different age groups, cultural backgrounds,
and personal preferences contribute to diverse opinions on the subject. Analyzing these
perspectives requires a nuanced approach to present a well-rounded view.
Moreover, exploring the potential drawbacks and benefits of text messaging adds another layer
of difficulty. While it has revolutionized communication, concerns about its impact on language
proficiency, interpersonal relationships, and even mental health need to be carefully examined
and articulated.
The challenge lies in striking a balance between providing factual information and expressing a
personal stance. Ensuring that the essay is informative, thought-provoking, and aligns with the
chosen thesis statement requires a meticulous writing process.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of text messaging is more intricate than it may seem
at first glance. Navigating through a plethora of information, addressing diverse perspectives,
and analyzing the multifaceted nature of the subject demand careful consideration. However,
with dedication and a structured approach, one can successfully navigate the complexities of this
contemporary communication phenomenon.

Step B: Describe the zinc and acid reaction.
As placing a small piece of Zn(mossy zinc) metal into the test tube containing the
diluted HCI(Hydrochloric Acid) solution, gas bubbles rose from the solution slowly
at the beginning and vigorously in process of time. As this reaction continued for a
long time, transparent solution turned into white opaque color and black precipitates
were formed and floated.
Step G: Record your observations with the flame and the hydrogen gas.
When gently squeezing a small portion of the hydrogen gas into the flame, the flame
showed small flash with a pop.

Step F: Observe and record the reaction results with the limewater.
The lime water turned into white opaque color, and gas bubbles and white
precipitate was formed, as placed the open end of the gas delivery tube(reaction
between Alka Seltzer tablet + water) into the limewater.
Part 4
Step C: Record your observations of your breath with the limewater.
As I blow gently into the limewater with a straw, the limewater turned into opaque
white color.
Conclusion:
The purpose of this experiment is to investigate some physical and chemical
properties of gases and to use these properties to identify these gases when they are
encountered.
I could learn how to identity Hydrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and hydrogen and
oxygen mixture when they are present through this experiment. Before conducting
this experiment, I should know the combustion chemical reaction first to predict
right results. The most interesting thing was the experiment for gases of hydrogen
and oxygen mixture. Through the reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, H2O is
produced. H2O is water as we know. So I just expected that flame would blow out
due to the water vapor. But it was wrong. The flame grew bigger with a pop and a
flash.
To reduce error for this experiment, it was crucial to collect right amounts of gases
from the reaction and handle it quickly for the next step due to properties of gases.

High Holy Days
Asa Moore Mrs. Brownlow AP English Literature 9/28/12 High Holy Days The
main idea that Jane Shore is making in High Holy Days is that the child or young
teenager is a Chosen One, (line 54) and she must free the Jews from Anti Semitism
and the Nazis just as Moses saved the Israelites from the Egyptians. She had no
idea she was going to be the chosen one just as Moses did not. Moses was lost too
just like she was before God helped him find his way. Jane Shore uses diction, tone,
and imagery in order to convey the main idea. The author uses diction throughout the
poem to help the reader better understand how the speaker is feeling. For example, It

the speaker sees. For example, in lines 4 11 the speaker describes to us the
Antonio Tempesta Shroud
I believe that the shroud is not the real burial cloth of Jesus. One reason for this is
because research that a man named Charles Freeman did shows that the cloth looks
very different today than it did in the 17th century. An engraving done in 1613 by
Antonio Tempesta shows that originally, the images found on the shroud were much
more pronounced. Some of the features visible in this engraving, such as the Crown
of Thorns and the loincloth, are no longer visible when one looks at the shroud
today. Another reason for this opinion is that there has been no discovery of
significant evidence that the shroud existed before 1355, which is when it appeared
in a chapel being advertised as Christ s burial shroud. The granddaughter of the
chapel s owner,
Swot Analysis Of Cheesecake Factory
Executive Summary
The issue that will be addressed in this plan is on more effective ways to reach the
target market. The Cheesecake Factory already have a strong presence in the USA.
In the year 2011, The Cheesecake Factory expanded its operations to the Middle
East and opened its first restaurant out of USA at The Dubai Mall. By the year 2015,
the company had eight restaurants in the Middle East. Now the goal is to focus on
how to establish a more dominant presence international such as their competitors, for
instance, McDonald s.
The items sold at The Cheesecake Factory are reasonably priced so that a typical
person can easily manage to pay for the products. In the year 2016, the average
meal cost of $21 22, which is reasonable for a full service restaurant. To increase its
customer base the brand has always implemented a penetration pricing policy and has
kept its prices lower than its competitors.
The best strategies of successful marketing for this company lies in word of mouth
publicity, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.), National
Cheesecake Day, gift cards sold by third parties (hotels, retail stores, etc.), and loyalty
programs.

Essay On New Solar System
In this article, it states that 39 light years away from Earth, there is a belief that
science has found a new solar system. That very solar system is special since it has
seven planets that are very alike to our Earth. With the terrain being rocky and
warm enough that it could support life on it. This discovery is the first time people
have ever found that out that there are rocky planets that are orbiting a single star.
Before we have the technology we have today, the only terrestrial planets we knew of
being four planets. And we didn t even know much about our solar system, other than
our planetand some a few others, but as we reach a new age in our world so many
other windows are opening to us as a society.

Also in paragraph three, it states that Last May, the scientists published that they had
discovered three rocky bodies orbiting the star. They named them TRAPPIST в‚Ѓb,
в‚Ѓc and в‚Ѓd. Later, Gilion realized that the dip in brightness he thought came from
в‚Ѓd was actually caused by three planets all crossing at the same time. They
eventually realized that there were actually seven planets. The quote explains that
all former three planets were orbiting their own star, which were caused in a dip of
brightness that caused the planets to cross at the same time. All TRAPPIST planets
orbit the same star, the line on which they orbit all move at the same times. They
reach each starting point at the same time which is not really like other planets we
have ever heard of before, mainly because the all of the planets in our solar system
all move at their own speed.
Including information comes from Planets Are Close Enough For Atmospheric
Studies. Information for this comes from paragraph one, it states that For years,
scientists have found evidence that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is full of Earth like
planets. However, the TRAPPIST в‚Ѓ researchers say this solar system is our best
target yet to search for life outside of Earth. This quote explains that for much of our

The Philadelphia Museum Of Art Museum
The Philadelphia Museum of Art was my first time to an art museum, and overall I
think it was a good experience. When I thought of an art museum, I thought it was
going to be all paintings. But as it turns out, that idea was wrong. There were lots
of other forms of art there as well. The exhibit that I enjoyed the most was the
International Pop exhibit. But there were also many other exhibits that I enjoyed
as well. Some of those include; European, American, Arms and Armor. All every
interesting exhibits that everyone should see. But those are not all, when going to
this museum, every exhibit should be looked at, all have very interesting things in
them. The International pop exhibit was one of my favorite out of all the exhibits.
The International Pop navigates a fast paced world packed with bold and thought
provoking imagery, revealing a vibrant period shaped by social, political, and
cultural changes . One piece of art that I found interesting was Still Life by Tom
Wesselmann, American, 1931 2004 . When looking at this piece if reminds me of
different time. This piece reminds me of other art works that I have seen with the
same kinds of things on it as well. Another work of art that I enjoyed was the 20th
/21st Century Tribute by AntГґnio Henrique Amaral , this painting makes the viewer
actually stop and look at it. There are many different parts to this painting too look at.
When walking through the museum, this was definitely something that catches ones
eye.
The Transition Of Central Bank
The last five years have been peculiar for the global economy, with recession
looming around. Consequently, the role of future monetary policymakers and the
interpretation of the effects of the policies have become desperately critical. In
order to restore the ailing financial markets, central banks have engaged in activities
aimed at reducing the interest rates to zero and expanding the balance sheets. The
efforts have gone a long way toward preserving the financial markets and saving the
global economy from further depression. However, the actions carry long term risks
for central banks and the economies. This paper will delve into the transition of
central bankroles in the wake of the recession.
Future of Central Banking
Central bank existence is justified by the role it plays in the economy. The Federal
reserve bank of America plays a dual mandate role as stipulated by the congress act
introduced in 1977. Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) recent statements
indicate the committee s commitment towards the dual mandate. The committee
believes that the solution to the recession that currently hits the economy is its
commitment to the dual mandate. However, its push towards achieving the dual
mandate is the cause of the slow pace recovery (Orphanides, 2014). For success in
the future, central banks should only focus on one target at a time. A more limited
role of the central bank is conditional for the economy to recover and grow from
recession (Orphanides, 2014).
The Tradition Of Wisdom And Immortality And How God...
Wisdom literature is unlike previous wisdom writings in Israel by its thematic
approach and emphasis on salvation history and immortality and how God rewards
the sufferings of the just. Through these narratives light is thrown on the struggles of
Judaism in the Greek and Roman eras, upholding values and the fight against pagan
ideas; monotheism versus polytheism (Boadt:1984)
There are many examples of Wisdom literature found in the Old Testament
including I Kings 20:11; Jeremiah 23:28; 31:29. Historians believe the transition
from oral sayings to literary wisdom took place in Egypt at approximately 2500
BC and in Sumer shortly afterward. Throughout the Near East, a class of scribes or
wise men arose who were highly honoured for creating and/or collecting and
refining wise sayings (Ecclesiastes 12:9). This was usually done under the
patronage of the court or the temple leaders. The sources of these sayings may
originally have been from tribal wisdom, instruction in schools or wise sayings
circulated among the nobility. Two of Israel s kings are credited with vitally
important contributions in this area: Solomon (I Kings 4:29 34) and Hezekiah
(Proverbs 25:1). By the 7th century BC the wise man had gained sufficient
prominence in Judah to attain a class distinction equal to prophet or priest (Jeremiah
8:8 9; 18:18).
The book of Psalms ( praises ) is wisdom literature in hymn form. The Psalms are 150
sacred songs, composed for the greater part by David or during his reign,
Network Based Intrusion Detection Systems ( Idss )
Abstract: Providing security in a distributed system is important as cloud computing
provides variety of convenient services. IDS implementation in cloud requires an
efficient, scalable and a constructive approach. Many Network based intrusion
detection systems(NIDS) are used for the reception of packets from the cloud, but
those systems possess lower detection rate, high false positive rate and they fail to
resist single point attack. I would like to propose one method which I encountered
and found out to be efficient compared to other methods. This unique model has
multiple intrusion detection systems (IDSs) that are deployed in each layer of the
cloud infrastructure for protecting each Virtual Machine against threats. Another
catching feature is that of cloud alliance concept which exchanges mutual alerts to
resist the single point attack of failure. Introduction Cloud ComputingThe term cloud
is analogical to Internet. Similarly cloud computing is a model for delivering
information technology services in which resources are retrieved from the internet
through web based tools and applications, rather than a direct connection to a
server.(Corey 2008) Figure 1: Overview of Cloud Computing, Source: Sam Johnston,

Examples Of Mature In Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet are believed to mature throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet , but
in reality, their sophistication did not change at all. At the beginning of the story, they
both threatened to kill themselves because they didn t get what they want but by the
end of the story, they actually took their lives. Being mature consists of being
responsible, and acting a few years over a current age. Romeo and Juliet were not
mature with their relationship. They got married in a matter of hours. These reasons
make Romeo and Juliet not mature, although they were believed to mature somewhat
throughout the play/book. Romeo and Juliet are considered to be royal rich kids who
get what they want, but one thing they can not get is an either
A Security Plan for Individuals by Virtual Protectors
Personal Security
One of the most important ways to protect your assets is to educate employees on
personal security. Today s attacks are much more sophisticated, and it is much easier
to become a target of any number of scams which could leave the company at risk.
These risks include user level computer vulnerabilities and social engineering attacks.
Personal security starts with creating a strong password for logging into any
computer. A password should not use regular dictionary words, family member
names, pet names, birthdates, or any personal information. It is best to use a long
password that is a minimum of twelve characters long. If possible, special characters
in your password along with capital letters, lower case letters, ... Show more content

90). Antivirus software is not a choice, but a true necessity in any business setting.
Besides antivirus software, another important software program used to empower
computer security is personal firewalls. A personal firewall filters content that enters
the computer via the Internet or other local network as well as stops malware from
spreading (Ciampa, 2014, p. 91). This personal firewall is a separate entity from a
network firewall, and both play important roles in computer security. Computers will
be programmed to provide personal firewall rules that block questionable connections.
Ultimately, any business that wants to protect and secure information on their
computer systems should implement these aspects of computer security. Without
computer security, a business could easily fail by just taking its first steps into e
commerce or any participation within the web.
Internet Security Attacks today via the Internet are much more advanced and pose a
greater threat to anyone using the Internet. However there are certain practices that
should be applied when using the Internet for business purposes. Since DAD s will
be dealing with a customer web interface, the business will need to apply for a
digital certificate. These certificates are issued by a trusted third party as verification
that your website is legitimate and make

Identity and the Way Individuals Shape Their Identities for Themselves
One of the central issues of psychology is identity and the way individuals shape
their identities for themselves. People live in different regions all around the globe
and are consequently exposed to a distinct type of culture, religion, education, family
values and media. These influences instill certain rigid values in people from birth,
which configures their self concept and the way they perceive other individuals in the
society they interact with.
In many Western societies, the importance of personal achievement and glory are
inculcated in people from early childhood. Hazel Markus and Shinobu Kitayama

In this study, two groups of people will be given the same questionnaire to answer.
One group will consist of white Americans who were born and brought up in the
USA. The other group will comprise of international Asian students coming from
countries like Japan, Pakistan and India. It is hypothesized that the American group
will respond by stating more responses that describe their personal traits than the
International group will. It is further hypothesized that the International group will
respond predominantly by identifying themselves with their groups such as ethnicity,
religion and family, significantly more than Americans will.
Methods
Participants:
The majority of the forty participants (20 white Americans, 20 international Asians)
were randomly selected among the Amherst College students. The remainder of the
pool of participants extended to the international student community of the Smith and
Mount Holyoke Colleges. The participants were undergraduate students ranging from
freshmen through seniors, and included both men and women.
Procedure:
Twenty questionnaires were handed out to the Asian students at the Five College
International Students Association meeting in the Campus Center. The other twenty
questionnaires were distributed among the white Americans in the social dormitories
of Amherst College.
The participants were instructed to read the questionnaire carefully and respond with
five statements describing their identity.

Mrs Mallard Symbolism
The Story of an hour by Kate Chopin is a short story that takes place in the late
1800s. This short story is about Mrs. Mallard, a lady with diagnosed heart trouble,
being told of her husbands death, and showing the way she interprets and reacts due
to this lost. A theme that is present in this short story is the confinement s of marriage.
Kate Chopinuses the imagery of Mrs.Mallards mindset after the discovery of her
husbands death, symbols such as that of Mrs. Mallards heart illness, and both the
ironic situation and dramatic irony of Mrs. Mallards death at the sight of her
husband to contribute to this subject on marriage as a whole. The author uses
positive imagery for Mrs. Mallards reflection on the loss of her husband, something
that would usually be projected in a negative connotation. Imagery that projects the
image of someone becoming released from something terrible, in this case
Mrs.Mallard being released from the restraints of marriage. She presents an image of

most important symbol in this piece, is that of Mrs.Mallards heart illness. This
symbolizes more than one meaning. It represents Mrs. Mallards unhappiness of
marriage, and presents marriage as actually bringing her closer to death. It also
represents Mrs. Mallards loss of affection, not being able to handle serious or
traumatic situations, a loss of love, symbolized through that of a frail heart. These
symbols contribute to the authors views on marriage, showing it as something that is
a burden on someone s life, rather than what marriage is usually projected as,

Ontological Argument Against Anselm
Does God exist? According to Anselm of Canterbury of course God exists, and he
is able to explain how that is to be. Anselm uses the ontological argument to
essentially state that the only way for a perfect creator, God, to be even greater
would to exist in reality as opposed to thought, and thus, God exists. This logic is
argued against by many philosophers throughout time, most notably by a fellow
Benedictine monk, Gaunilo. Gaunilo uses the same logic in reference to the most
perfect island and shows the flaws to Anselm s logic. Gaunilo criticizes against
Anselm s view on how to confirm the existenceof God using the same method in a
form of reductio ad absurdum. In this case the example of a perfect island is utilized.

Human Nature And Development Of Personality
Adlerian Therapy
Liliana Salazar
University of North Texas at Dallas
Adlerian Therapy According to Maniacci and Jonhson Migalski (2013), Individual
psychology mandates that a person must be understood in the holistic,
phenomenological, teleological way (p.179). Adlerians believe heredity and
environment influence but do not determine our behaviors. Moreover, every person
has to strive for power, and humans develop inferiority feelings as a consequence.
Therefore, they need to overcome those feelings (Croake, 1975). This paper explains
how the views of human personality as holistic can explain maladjustment in the
client, Allen, a 34 year old male who experiences episodes of depression. The paper
will explore Allen s personality and the relationship between those past experiences
and maladjustment.
Human Nature and Development of Personality Croake (1975) argued the human
being is a whole, not just parts. Then personality can only be expressed if we take
into consideration all aspects of the human being. Adler (1982) pointed out that
human nature of personality explains how heredity and environment cannot build an
attitude related to life. Instead every person builds on individual experience. He
affirmed that humans couldn t be classified. Edgar (1996) explained the medical
model does not apply to every person because everyone is unique, and when science
tries to explain human mistakes by their genes we are categorizing human beings.
According to Adler (1982), the
Taking a look at Eastlink
Eastlink was aimed to connect the eastern north south region; it connects the eastern
freeway to Frankston freeway. The land of the toll road was set aside by the
government in 1960 to and in 2002 the project was officially accepted in policy.[ K.

By providing 39 Km of motorway, Eastlink allows citizens to travel along the eastern
region and save time by bypassing 45 traffic lights. It also carries a great amount of
traffic; therefore, it creates more jobs and economical boost. Eastlink created
approximately 15 billion boost to the economy and 1400 employment opportunities
were generated during its construction and operation.[ Greeman, A.G,Eastlink:

Reducing traffic congestion and attracting population to the eastern region were two
key objectives of the project. It was aimed to serve as the main transportation artery
of the eastern zone.

Immigration to the US
There are many Asian immigrants that come to the United States in hopes of living
out their American dream of becoming United States citizens. My parents came
here exactly for that same reason, so they can give my sisters and I the opportunity
to live a better life. We were fortunate enough to have our relatives help us get here,
making it a little less difficult for us compared to other families that took a different
path to becoming citizens. However, it was not always this easy for an Asian
immigrant family like ours to become naturalized citizens. It used to be near
impossible for immigrants of Asian descent to become a United Statescitizen, but in
recent years, there have been a spur of people with Asian ethnicity who are... Show

For example, The Naturalization Law of 1790 had specified that naturalized
citizenship was to be reserved for whites (Takaki 14). This in turn made it near
impossible for Asian immigrants to become United States citizen. The law heavily
impacted people like Bhagat Singh Thind, an Asian Indian, whose citizenship was
denied by the United States Supreme Court in the 1923 decision of U.S. vs. Bhagat
Singh Thind. He argued Indians are technically Aryans, making him Caucasian. The
Court found that the authors of the 1790 statute probably ascribed to the Adamite
theory of creation and understood white people in its popular, and not scientific,
sense ( United States v. Bhagat Singh Thind. ). The law was not repealed until 1952
(Takaki 14). Although immigrants, like the Irish and Italians, also experienced
discrimination, they were still able to become citizens because they fell into the
category of white . There were also a number of other different policies passed that
prevented Asian immigrants from becoming United States citizens. Around 1848
after the annexation of California, the first large group of Asians immigrated into the
United States. Aaron H. Palmer, an American policymaker, requested to import
Chinese laborers into the United States in order to make the dream

The Communal Politics Of India
INTRODUCTION
The communal politics in India started from 1970s when emergency was declared
in India. The Congress was unable to fulfill its promises, conditions of India
deteriorated, GDP dumps. Other parties were also unable to deliver the expectation
of people, and then BJP comes with communal politics by raising Babri Masjid
case. Rathyatra led by Advani is an important event which created enthusiasm in a
particular section of community. After Dandi March, this is the one yatra which
has succeeded because there were organizations in every level; it was pre planned
and executed carefully which made it successful. The extreme case of communal
riots in India took place on 27 February, 2002. The abuse of human rights started
when in Sabarmati Express; one coach of Hindus who were on pilgrimage was
burned at the Godhra station in which Muslims were considered as mastermind
behind this action. The next day the Muslims community was targeted and huge
killing took place. The organizations like Rashtriya SwayamSevak Sangh and Vishwa
Hindu Parishad were involved in these riots. Many Masjids were destroyed, Muslim
women were raped, their shops were looted. The State Government and police failed
to stop the communal violence instead they helped the communal forces in locating

The Systems Of Distribution And Distribution
Two systems of distribution will be adopted. The systems of distribution include
direct distribution and indirect distribution system. Indirect distribution system will
be characterized by the employment of third parties in the distribution of the
products. Therefore, in indirect distribution channels, the business will utilize third
parties, often referred to as an intermediary, to offer a link between the manufacturer
and consumers. On the other hand, in direct distribution, only two parties will be
involved the manufacturer and the consumer. In the latter system, direct distribution
channel will be organized in such a way that the manufacturer will deliver the
products (plantain chips) to the market directly without assistance of another
independent party such as a distribution company or the intermediary. The decision
on whether to employ a direct or indirect distribution channel will depend on the
accessibility and distance from the processing zones.
In particular, the business will utilize indirect distribution channels in areas that are
costly in terms of accessibility, and adopt direct distribution in areas whose
accessibility is cost effective. For instance, the distribution strategies will be
distinctive for urban and rural segments in collaboration with contract partners. It is
noteworthy that plantain chips will be distributed directly in the urban regions and
indirectly in rural areas. Additionally, in the situation that the accessibility is adversely

Account For the Success of the Bolsheviks in October 1917 At the beginning of
1917 most of the Bolsheviks were in exile but by the end of 1917 the Bolshevik
party had not only consolidated control of Moscow and Petrograd, but they were
also advancing on the rest of the country. This success was due to several linked
factors; the Bolshevik policy of non cooperation, weakness of the Provisional
Government, division of alternative opposition, Lenin s leadership skills, the power
of the Petrograd Soviet and Trotsky as its leader, failure on deliver of land reform
and the oppressed, armed workers in Petrograd. Bolshevik success is dictated by

Although, we must remember, that Lenin had incorrectly pushed for an
unsuccessful revolution in July. Lenin is famed to have said, History will not
forgive us if we do not assume power, Lenin chose, successfully, when to seize
power. The Weaknesses of the Provisional Government were as much, if not more to
blame than the successes of the Bolsheviks for the Socialist Revolution. The
Provisional Government was delicate by its very nature, it was not democratically
elected, it was illegitimate, and had no mandate to rule. Why should opposition
groups recognise such a government? The Bolsheviks were careful not to affiliate
itself with the Provisional Government because it wanted to disassociate itself from
government s many failed policies and it also wanted to remain a small, hardcore,
tightly knit net of ardent Marxists, without any Bourgeois influences. The Provisional
Government s failed policies stemmed from its weak, fragmented coalition. The
Octoberists were on the centre right as they agreed with the Tsar s October Manifesto,
which had ended the 1905 Revolution. The Cadets (Constitutional Democrats) were
the moderate, liberals of the centre of the political spectrum. On the

Scholar Practitioner Project: Be There San Diego Initiative
While assessing the increasing burden of chronic diseases in counties across
California, findings revealed that although San Diego county comprised 9% of the
state population, San Diegans incurred nearly 15% of total expenditures for direct
medical care of chronic diseases in the state of California. This report indicated that
chronic diseases cancer, heart diseases/stroke, pulmonary disease, diabetes, mental

1950s Home Appliances
Home Appliances
1950s was a decade of great technological development.
1950s home appliances raised standards of living and released housewives from the
strain of household chores.
The most representative item would have been the washing machine. This was a
massive time saver and allowed women to keep up to date with the cleaning, to keep
a comfortable home and do all the cooking as well as having some leisure time.
They were very populous in America but it wasn t until the 1950s that it was
introduced in Australia, Almost every home appliance was invented in earlier years
overseas and introduced to Australia later.

The television industry had been established in America in the 1940s. After WW2

Document Based Question Dbq
With its charts, graphs, and political cartoons, on the surface the Document Based
Question (DBQ) is certainly more visually appealing than a standard multiple choice
assessment or traditional instructional strategy. However just how effective and
authentic is the DBQ? What rationale do teachers, school districts, and state
departments of educationhave for choosing the DBQ as an integral part of the social
studies curriculum? What sort of psychological and social foundations of curriculum
are rooted in the DBQ? A review of published literature regarding the DBQ provides
some insight into these questions.
The DBQ is psychologically rooted in constructivism in design in which the

Disadvantages Of Professional Kitchen Remodeling
Are you a homeowner who is looking to have your kitchen remodeled? If you are,
you likely already know that you, literally, have an unlimited number of options. In
addition to what you would like remodeled and how you would like everything to
look, you can also choose how your remodeling gets done. While a large number of
homeowners make the decision to do their own kitchen remodeling, there are others
who choose to use the assistance of a professional. That professional is often
commonly referred to as a contractor. One of the best ways to determine whether you
not you should use a professional contractor is to examine the advantages and
disadvantages of doing so.
As you may have already assumed, there are an unlimited number of benefits to
having your kitchen remodeled by a professional. Perhaps, the greatest benefit of a
professional kitchen remodeling job is the end result. In almost all cases, you will
find that a professional remodeling job is better than one that is performed by
someone without experience. Although it may sound easy to replace the lighting in
your kitchen or your kitchen countertops, you will find that it isn t always as easy as
it sounds. Instead of taking the time to learn, a large number of homeowner
automatically turn to a professional contractor.
Speaking of time, you will also find that time is another advantage to using a
professional contractor to remodel your kitchen. Since professional contractors are
experienced at what they do, they
Online Games Vs. Traditional Fantasy Sports
Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) are online games where players build a lineup of
athletes from a specific professional sport and earn points based on their in game
performance. Players are allotted a budget that they can spend on salaries for
athletes to fill out their roster. Salaries for athletes vary based on factors such as
skill level, quality of opponent, and injury concerns. The key to winning in DFS is
to find players that outperform the value salary in order to help the team score more
points. While similar to traditional fantasy sports which last throughout the entire
season of a sport, the single day aspect of DFS is what sets them apart. DFS require
less commitment and offer instant gratification. DFS are a relatively new... Show

Determining the relative value for each player is a major component of DFS. The
decision making that goes along with setting a lineup with these stipulations is a
perfect example of microeconomics and is comparable to the concept of
sabermetrics in baseball. DFS, as an industry, can also serve as an example of
economics at the macro level. After being around for not even a decade, DFS
became one of the fastest growing industries in the United States. According to the
Wall Street Journal, FanDuel s revenue nearly doubled in 2015 to about $100
million (Berzon). In addition, the DFS industries all together were believed to
have spent over $300 million on advertisement alone. The surge in advertisement
led to mass market exposure for DFS. As a result of both the increase in revenue
and exposure, employment rates began to rise rapidly as well. According to
FanDuel CEO Nigel Eccles, his company had 400 employees in 2016 and is
[continuing] to invest heavily in the product (Berr). The increase of revenue along
with creation of jobs are both strong examples of the influence of DFS in a
macroeconomic sense. While the industry of DFS made a meteoric rise to success in
such a short amount of time, the success was accompanied by controversy. The
controversy surrounding DFS can be broken down into three main categories:
advertisement, legality, and league integrity. The advertisement controversy was the
first to get massive public attention. In 2015, the NFL
Athlete Concussions
Athlete Concussions
Should athletes be able to play even at the risk of permanent head injuries?
Recently, concussion ratings have went up in some sports. Due to this increase,
many people are trying to find out what they can do to prevent these injuries and
what damage it can cause. Every player would like to play the sport that they love
as long as they can but, playing with a head injury is not safe. Many players don t
think of concussions or are unaware of the serious damage that it can leave on them.
Therefore, all athletes should not be able to play or practice when they have suffered

Some say that every knockout is a concussion but, that has not yet been proven.
One third of MMA fighters suffer from brain trauma. That is the highest rating out
of any sport. The number of Traumatic brain injuries per 100 athletes was fifteen
point nine in MMA the highest by far almost doubling football which was at eight
point one. These stats show that MMA is the the most dangerous sport by far.
Eighty five percent of knockouts in MMA are from punches to the head. A
knockout is considered when the fighter is no longer able to defend himself. There
is one concussion diagnosed thirty two percent of the time in a match which is a
little less than one third of the time. Fifty percent of knockouts are from hits to the
mandible or lower jaw. Many argue that MMA should be banned from youth to keep
them safe from the repeated blows to the head while there brain is developing.
Even though there is no way to make concussions one hundred percent safe, that
does not affect athlete s desire to play the game. Concussions may be a serious
problem but, many times that does not get in the way of playing the game. Players
should still be able to play the sports they love but there should be stricter rules on
concussions and blows to the head. No game is worth having permanent brain injuries
Alfie Kohn What Does It Mean To Be Educated Analysis
In the article What Does It Mean to Be Educated? By Alfie Kohn he begins by
telling his readers about his wife s educational accomplishments when he met her.
He expresses that even with all of the education she obtained from Harvard she still
could not answer 8 times 7 off of the top of her head. This was a great attention
getter for me and it also made many of his points about the definition or lack thereof
of an educated person valid. Being in a two parent household my parents instilled in
me how important going to schooland being educated was, especially when I grew
up and got into the real world. Throughout grade school I would get mainly A s or
B s but just as Kohn described his wife I was not quick on my toes when it came to
math. I excelled greatly with any other classes but struggled with math, does that
make me a not well educated person for that reason or does my excellence in other
areas of study define my educational status?
When trying to determine if a person is well educated you must evaluate the person
versus their education. In the article What Does It Mean to Be Educated? By Alfie

Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird headlined the games and the play of Scottie Pippen

We were in a definite no win situation, said Chuck Daly; we had to come back with
the gold medal (The Dream Team).
Despite being lead in overall scoring by Charles Barkley, different players would
step up on different nights to take control and led the Dream Team to victory with
not just scoring, but great passing and leadership ability as well. Michael Jordan
who at the time was the most popular basketball player in the world showed that he
is a great defensive player as well as an offensive player by averaging five steals
per game during the tournament. Other players like David Robinson and Patrick
Ewing provided tough interior defense and the flow of the games offensively were
controlled by Magic Johnson and Scottie Pippen.
The Dream Team s first game was on July 26th against the African nation of Angola
and the United States defeated them 116 48 with Charles Barkley leading the way
with 24 points. Against Brazil, Barkley set a USA Olympic record by scoring 30

Germany, Brazil, Spain, Puerto Rico, Lithuania. During the game against Lithuania,
one of the Lithuanian players actually sat on the side line and took pictures of the

My Hero Is A Hero
The idea of a hero is very prominent in today s society. At the start of a person s life,
a hero is a grown man wearing tights who flies around saving helpless citizens from
evil scientists. As we age, however, the definition of what a true hero is will change.
A police officer charging headfirst into a hostage situation is undoubtable a hero, but a
father who works eighty hours a week, so his children can have a brighter future,
and still makes time to be there for all of their important moments is just as heroic.
After my superhero phase, I had a fairly common hero for young boys, the men and
women of the United States military. With over one million men and women serving
in the United States armed forces, this may be the largest group of heroes in the
world. These men and women devote their lives to maintaining the freedoms that
we enjoy each and every day. While many serve, and then return to their families,
far too many never make the journey home. Standing for bravery and strength, the
men and women of the United States armed forces were, and still are, my heroes.
With the dream of carrying on the great tradition of service to my country, I
planned to join the army after college. I longed to be the person that people looked
up to and appreciated for keeping them safe. The plan was to become a
commissioned officer leading a team of infantrymen with bravery and determination.
Reality, however, reared its ugly head in the form of a pair of thick glasses. My
dream was

Essay on Breast-Feeding vs Formula
In todays society there are so many books and online sources that can be found on the
how to of raising a child. The question is though, which one of the sources should be
trusted enough to follow through and to implement techniques on children. For one
of the most important decisions that a mother and family can make is the option of
breast milkor formula. In a growing society where mothers are given dirty looks for
nursing in public, or media outlets rage in disapproval to mothers that share nursing
stories, it almost seems crazy not to pick up a bottle and feed a child. Our society
has made formula feeding a norm and had turned its back to mothers that ponder the
choice of breast feeding. This is a complete shame;... Show more content on

It should be a requirement of all applicants to participate in an educational class on
breast feeding before they are given coupons for formula. In our society the
education of breast feeding has vanished. With out the education, mother s
attention can be drawn to advertisements of formula and simplicity of bottle. With
the government giving coupons for formula, it seems that formula feeding the
only option a family has. Instead the government should be explaining options to
families. With a recommend education of nutrition of children it would give
mothers a chance to understand the benefits of breast milk for a child and for the
mother. It would also help raise awareness in our society that breast feeding is not
an action that should be critiqued or judge upon. A required class to all expecting
mothers will allow mothers and family members to make an educated decision
about how their child will be feed. Classes will allows families to ask questions in
a safe environment, and give them a network of professionals and other mothers.
Process of nursing, storage of breast milk and he preparation of pumped milk are all
topic that could be addressed in a classroom setting. Although, the health benefits for
the mother and nursing child should be the main focus of a class. Classes provided
by the government as a requirement prior to receiving food stamps, can seem pushy
from the government. It is completely reasonable for a family that is required to take
Snapple s Brand Image And Sources Of Brand Equity
1.How would you characterize Snapple s brand image and sources of brand equity?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the brand s existing personality and image?
Snapple was created in 1972 in Brooklyn when Mash, Golden, and Greenberg
decided to start a business. In 1978 they created an apple pop that was making a
snap sound when people were opening it, what inspired the creators to give such
name to their drink. They bought the rights for a name for a high price of $500. By
1991 Snapple became a nationally recognized brand.
Product
Snapple offers more than 50 different tastes of its beverages. The brand offers its
consumers tea, water, juice, and diet products. All products are called 100 % natural
and Snapple s slogan says that it is Made from the Best Stuff on Earth .
Price
Snapple is positioned as a premium brand. The premium product that is available
to anyone . Being so in 1993, the price is still remains a luxury. With the purchase
of Snapple, Cadbury became a leader in non carbonated premium New Age
beverage. (Plus, as was discussed during the lecture, a product can t set the price
smaller than the whole company, so there is no way that Snapple will have not a
premium price being a part of Cadbury).
Place
Originally Snapple was sold through up and down the street channels. It means that
Snapple was available at any place on the street. It was a system of independent

Essay Famine Relief
In response to the recent failure of the international community to prevent the
famine crisis in the Horn of Africa since July 2011, Suzanne Dvorak the chief
executive of Save the Children wrote that, We need to provide help now. But we
cannot forget that these children are wasting away in a disaster that we could and
should have prevented she added, The UN estimates that every $1 spent in prevention
saves $7 in emergency spending. (Dvorak, 2011). Many people who read such
statement wonder about our obligation towards faminerelief, and ask, whether we are
morally obliged to spend one dollar in order to prevent such a crisis or not. Forty
years ago, Peter Singer answered this question in his article Famine,... Show more

John Arthur presented a moderate view, more in line with our current behavior, that
recognizes an individual s entitlement to resources as an excuse against any moral
requirement to give them away. I will briefly present these entitlements, and
explain why they can t justify our refusal to help and aid in famine relief.
Entitlements of Rights: We are not obligated to give away our body parts in order to
save others, this is heroism and we are obliged to it .Our rights to our bodies weight
against whatever duty to help. Accordingly, strangers have only negative rights which
are rights against our interference and they don t have the rights to receive some
benefits. (831)
I am sure, most of the people, including me , agree that the first part of his
argument is plausible since it s difficult to decide to give one s kidney even to our
loved ones, mind you a stranger. However, this is not the case with famine relief or
helping the poor people since nobody is required to take such an action. The things
we have to sacrifice in order to prevent starvation and to help the poor do not
jeopardize our health or our well being like donating a kidney. I don t think that
anybody can argue that giving 10, 20, or even 1000 dollars a month put us in any
kind of risk or can be morally significant if compared to giving away our kidney!
Arthur didn t give this comparison any importance since he wanted only to prove our
rights to our possessions; and he

Tragic Drama According to AC Bradley s Theory of...
Part one: Tragic drama according to A.C. Bradley s theory of Shakespeare
The substance of Shakespeare s tragedy solely points out to the power of death. In
this five act play, the death of important characters suffices for the cruel reality of
life. However, a completely realm is required in order to observe Shakespeare s
version of tragedy. Shakespeare has used tragedy to explain on the major paradoxes
of life. It can be called a Paradox of disappointment. Defeat, unfulfilled desired,
failed hopes and then finally death are some of the faces of tragedies faced by
Human. These are realities of life and cannot be avoided. Although they form the
foundation of our lives but are still considered as intruders to our ideal version of
life. This is the reason why when we are confronted by tragic literature in this
particular paradox, we become fascinated.
Bradley emphasizes on viewing the literary techniques used not as the basic
constituents but as the expression of tragedy. Some of the major characters in
Shakespeare s renowned tragedies are Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, and Macbeth.
Most of these characters are individual sufferers as in reality; a single man faces
the paradoxes of life. In every work of Shakespeare, irrespective of the individually
unique traits, we find a shattered hope or a failed ambition as a reason for
frustration. Hence, it is the disappointment paradox which serves as the substance of
any tragedy as per Shakespeare. Furthermore, it is the death itself
The Arab Spring in Egypt
Another prominent cause of the Arab Spring in Egypt was the corruption in the
government run by Mubarak. One of the best examples of Mubarak s corruption
was the use of emergency law. For his entire almost 30 year reign, Mubarak ruled
through emergency law. Under emergency law, Mubarak could censor all
publications, search and tap phone, mail, and Internet use, and arrest people without
a trial, or through secret trials. (Tristam, 2013) All political meetings also had to be
preapproved by him before they took place. Demonstrations in the streets were also
illegal. Many members of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mubarak s main opposition, were
arrested for no apparent reason. Human rights organizations estimated that between

(Leyne 2011) The police arrested and injured hundreds of demonstrators with the
use of batons, tear gas, and water cannons. Mohamed ElBaradei, one of the
prominent figures battling Mubarak s reign was reportedly placed under house
arrest after he and his supporters were attacked with tear gas and water cannons.
However, he soon reappeared, denying he had been placed under house arrest.
(Mohamed, 2013) Violent clashes continued to occur between the protesters and
the police. The police fired rubber bullets as well as concussion grenades at the
people. Several policemen beat a few demonstrators while other protesters set fire
to a police car. One of the protesters, Ramy Rafat, said, There are a lot of things
wrong with this country. The president has been here for 30 years. Why? (Fahim,
2011) In an effort to emulate the self immolation of Mohamed Bouazizi, around six
Egyptians have set themselves on fire recently. Violence was a major effect of the
Arab Spring in Egypt. Another effect of the Arab Spring in Egypt was the
resignation and trial of Hosni Mubarak on February 11, 2011. On January 29,
2011, Mubarak appointed a vice president for the first time, Omar Suleiman. It was
the same man who announced that Mubarak would step down from his role as
President of Egypt on February 11. (Hosni, 2011) Protesters and civilians alike

Helen Clay Frick Research Paper
For nearly 80 years, visitors to a New York art museum called the Frick Collection
have stood behind a velvet rope at the bottom of a sweeping marble staircase and
longed to see the private rooms upstairs.
By 2020, they will be able to satisfy their curiosity. That s because Henry Clay Frick s
three story mansion in New York City, which opened as a museum in 1935, is going
to turn private living quarters into exhibition space and expand with a 42,000 square
foot addition.
Two of the Frick family s second floor bedrooms plus a sitting room and breakfast
room will become galleries. Construction, slated to begin in 2017, also will connect
the three story museum with the nearby Frick Art Reference Library, which also
opened in 1935. Helen Clay Frick, daughter of the industrialist, founded the library in
1920. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

That s one reason the adjoining bedrooms of Helen Clay Frick and her mother,
Adelaide, which are currently used as offices, will become exhibition galleries.
About 320,000 people visit the Frick Collection each year. A recent show of Gilded
Age Dutch paintings that included Vermeer s famous portrait Girl With a Pearl
Earring and The Goldfinch by Carel Fabritius drew record crowds and lines that
snaked around the block.
Most of the collection is on view, but small sculptures, decorative arts objects, and
drawings that are in storage will be well suited to exhibition in the family s private
rooms.
The Frick Collection, which employs 200 full time and 40 part time staff, has an
endowment of $325 million. In 1977, the museum tore down three townhouses it
bought in the 1940s to build a one story pavilion and two basement classrooms that
soon became exhibition spaces. On some of that land, British landscape architect
Russell Page designed a 60 by 80 foot garden that faces 70th
Informative Essay On Cowboys
The First Super bowl There have been 50 superbowls so far in the NFL and a lot of
special moments, but here are some of them. The first super bowl, super bowl 1,
Packers and Chiefs. The score was Packers 35 and Chiefs 10. The teams were led
by coach Vince Lombardi and the quarterback Bart Starr. The Chief s coach was
Hank Stram and their quarterback was Len Dawson. The super bowl trophy is
named The Lombardi Trophy because of Vince Lombardi winning the first super
bowl. 1972 Undefeated Dolphins Only one team, that s it. The Dolphins are the only
team to have a complete undefeated season. The 1972 Dolphins were led by coach
Don Shula and quarterback Dan Marino. The Dolphins that year in the season shut
out 3 teams with 2 games against... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was the Panthers and the Broncos, the Panthers only lost one game going to the
super bowl. In the game the Broncos defence was making the Panther s quarterback
Cam Newton struggle. The Broncos made them have fumbles and throw
interceptions. They came out with a win 24 10 with the Broncos being super bowl
champions. That was the year Peyton Manning retired and Von Miller was the
MVP. Cowboys Super Bowl History Cowboys are one of the NFL teams to have the
most super bowl wins. Cowboys have 5 super bowl wins, Troy Aikman the
quarterback for that time took the Cowboys to 3 out of the 5 superbowls they won.
The Cowboys won the super bowl in 1972, 1978, 1993, 1994, and 1996. This year
the Cowboys are making it to the playoffs and have a chance at the super bowl and
another super bowl win in their franchise. Steelers Super Bowl History Just like
the Cowboys, the Steelers are one of the team s leading in super bowl wins. The
Steelers have won 6 super bowls, just one more than the Cowboys have. The Steelers
had a quarterback also who won most of their games and that was Terry Bradshaw
who had led the Steelers to 4 superbowls in just 6 years. The Steelers won the super
bowl in the years 1975, 1976, 1979, 1980, 2006, and 2009. Terry was the MVP in the
1979 super bowl. Today the Steelers have yet to find a super bowl win since
Fukushima Nuclear Disaster Research Paper
Prevent Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Disaster
The most extreme way to produce power is by nuclear fission. They do this by
splitting single atoms, Nuclear Energy Institute states ?Nuclear power plants obtain
the heat needed to produce steam through a physical process. This process, called
fission, entails the splitting of atoms of uranium in a nuclear reactor. The uranium
fuel consists of small, hard ceramic pellets that are packaged in long, vertical tubes.
Bundles of this fuel are inserted into the reactor.? Power produced this way also has
drawbacks. Producing this kind of power also produces an extreme amount of heat. If
the cooling system loses power the reactor temperature rises dangerously high which
will then release radiation, causing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reactor was overheating to the point it was emitting radioactive material. The
Tokyo Energy Power Company admitted that they failed to inspect thirty three
cooling system equipment for the six reactors about two weeks before the disaster
(NYTimes.com).
The inspection was to see if the Tokyo Energy Power Company could extend the life
of the reactors or to shut them down, which the reactors failed the inspection, but the
TEPCO decided to extend the lives of the reactors according to the NY Times. The
NY times also stated ?regulators said that ?maintenance management was inadequate?
and that the ?quality of inspection was insufficient?? (nytimes.com).
The reactors one, two, and three were outdated and soon the rest of the reactors
will be outdated. NY Times talks about how the nuclear operators are deciding
whether or not to expand the life of the reactors since they are almost to the forty
year statutory limit. All of the 18 reactors, which includes the five at Fukushima and
13 more in Japan will turn forty years old in the next ten years
Relationship Between Cinema And Cinema
Architecture is a slow and mute medium that is experienced gradually and spatially,
often presented to us through a sequence of images. The mere arrangement of these
images has a direct impact on the way we experience and interact with a space, which
is explicitly in conjunction with the discipline of cinema. Cinema, as a fast and
transparent medium, has an uncanny ability to magnify and augment this spatial
experience through the strategic manipulation of the composition seen within a
frame. The relationship between cinema and architectureis evident, on account that
cinema employs the power of a narrativeto convey a meaningful message, and
pictorial symbolism in its framing of architecture. However, excluding the obvious
parallels of composition and organization between the two forms of art, they differ
quite definitively on the basis of representation. As such, the presented approach
attempts to identify the relevant narrative concepts within architecture and cinema so
as to reveal the hidden undertone that may or may not directly influence our
experience of a space. Storytelling, as a form of narrative, is experienced cerebrally
and has enabled cultures to immortalize their fables and encounters. Architectural
narratives, on the other hand, are experienced spatially, i.e. through a series of
physical patterns and concepts that articulate place and meaning within a physical
structure. Per se, architecture and architects, through the weaving of a compelling
narrative,
Essay On Health Care
Left or right? Political beliefs in America tend to be sorted as leftist or rightist.
This binary mentality puts limitations on non binary issues such as healthcare. The
lens which healthcare is viewed in the United States needs to be more of a
panorama, considering all factors big and small. Healthcare systems are typically
rated based upon three fundamental factors: access, cost, and quality. The
fundamental differences in opinions of how the American healthcare system should
run can all be tied back to how much each factor is valued to its corresponding party
s belief system. The mindset of Americans needs to be transformed in order to
effectively create a reasonable plan, which works for the majority of its citizens. This
is an issue... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The clinics have shaped me into the person I am today. I experienced the impact of
the healthcare structure in America and its vital role that it plays in the lives of all
types of Americans. I remember drawing at the kids corner at the Spina Bifida
clinic and my blue crayon rolling off the table. Before I even processed that the
crayon fell, a girl in a wheelchair started to make her way all the way around the
table to pick up the crayon for me. I was blown away with the compassion this girl
displayed even on a miserable day of testing. This simple act of kindness is my
fondest memory from the clinic. As I became a teenager, we would play
videogames together in the waiting area. The fact that these kids managed to
withstand whatever life threw at them made me realize I could handle whatever
test or procedure the doctors threw at me. I thought to myself, Why am I the lucky
one who is so fortunate to be able to walk? With every step on my way to the nurse
that had called my name, I felt more weight of another kid envying my ability to
walk. I felt guilty as if I was the one responsible for their problems. It is this sense
of guilt that has forever impacted the way I see the world; I am much more grateful
for what I have. But this is only half of the story. Too often we forget that,
unfortunately, millions of Americans face the issue of overpriced healthcare services.
This is certainly a major social issue that needs to be

As placing a small piece of Zn(mossy zinc) metal into the test tube containing the diluted HCI(Hydrochloric Acid) solution, gas bubbles rose from the solution slowly at the beginning and vigorously in process of time. As this reaction continued for a long time, transparent solution turned into white opaque color and black precipitates were formed and floated. Step G: Record your observations with the flame and the hydrogen gas. When gently squeezing a small portion of the hydrogen gas into the flame, the flame showed small flash with a pop. Part 4 Step C: Record your observations of your breath with the limewater. As I blow gently into the limewater with a straw, the limewater turned into opaque white color. Conclusion: The purpose of this experiment is to investigate some physical and chemical properties of gases and to use these properties to identify these gases when they are encountered. I could learn how to identity Hydrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and hydrogen and oxygen mixture when they are present through this experiment. Before conducting this experiment, I should know the combustion chemical reaction first to predict right results. • 4. High Holy Days Asa Moore Mrs. Brownlow AP English Literature 9/28/12 High Holy Days The main idea that Jane Shore is making in High Holy Days is that the child or young teenager is a Chosen One, (line 54) and she must free the Jews from Anti Semitism and the Nazis just as Moses saved the Israelites from the Egyptians. She had no idea she was going to be the chosen one just as Moses did not. Moses was lost too just like she was before God helped him find his way. Jane Shore uses diction, tone, and imagery in order to convey the main idea. The author uses diction throughout the poem to help the reader better understand how the speaker is feeling. • 5. Antonio Tempesta Shroud I believe that the shroud is not the real burial cloth of Jesus. One reason for this is because research that a man named Charles Freeman did shows that the cloth looks very different today than it did in the 17th century. An engraving done in 1613 by Antonio Tempesta shows that originally, the images found on the shroud were much more pronounced. Some of the features visible in this engraving, such as the Crown of Thorns and the loincloth, are no longer visible when one looks at the shroud today. Another reason for this opinion is that there has been no discovery of significant evidence that the shroud existed before 1355, which is when it appeared in a chapel being advertised as Christ s burial shroud. The granddaughter of the chapel s owner,

  • 7. Essay On New Solar System In this article, it states that 39 light years away from Earth, there is a belief that science has found a new solar system. That very solar system is special since it has seven planets that are very alike to our Earth. With the terrain being rocky and warm enough that it could support life on it. This discovery is the first time people have ever found that out that there are rocky planets that are orbiting a single star. Before we have the technology we have today, the only terrestrial planets we knew of being four planets. And we didn t even know much about our solar system, other than our planetand some a few others, but as we reach a new age in our world so many other windows are opening to us as a society. According to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also in paragraph three, it states that Last May, the scientists published that they had discovered three rocky bodies orbiting the star. They named them TRAPPIST в‚Ѓb, в‚Ѓc and в‚Ѓd. Later, Gilion realized that the dip in brightness he thought came from в‚Ѓd was actually caused by three planets all crossing at the same time. They eventually realized that there were actually seven planets. The quote explains that all former three planets were orbiting their own star, which were caused in a dip of brightness that caused the planets to cross at the same time. All TRAPPIST planets orbit the same star, the line on which they orbit all move at the same times. They reach each starting point at the same time which is not really like other planets we have ever heard of before, mainly because the all of the planets in our solar system all move at their own speed. Including information comes from Planets Are Close Enough For Atmospheric Studies. Information for this comes from paragraph one, it states that For years, scientists have found evidence that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is full of Earth like planets. However, the TRAPPIST в‚Ѓ researchers say this solar system is our best target yet to search for life outside of Earth. This quote explains that for much of our life we only

  • 9. The Philadelphia Museum Of Art Museum The Philadelphia Museum of Art was my first time to an art museum, and overall I think it was a good experience. When I thought of an art museum, I thought it was going to be all paintings. But as it turns out, that idea was wrong. There were lots of other forms of art there as well. The exhibit that I enjoyed the most was the International Pop exhibit. But there were also many other exhibits that I enjoyed as well. Some of those include; European, American, Arms and Armor. All every interesting exhibits that everyone should see. But those are not all, when going to this museum, every exhibit should be looked at, all have very interesting things in them. The International pop exhibit was one of my favorite out of all the exhibits. The International Pop navigates a fast paced world packed with bold and thought provoking imagery, revealing a vibrant period shaped by social, political, and cultural changes . One piece of art that I found interesting was Still Life by Tom Wesselmann, American, 1931 2004 . When looking at this piece if reminds me of different time. This piece reminds me of other art works that I have seen with the same kinds of things on it as well. Another work of art that I enjoyed was the 20th /21st Century Tribute by AntГґnio Henrique Amaral , this painting makes the viewer actually stop and look at it. There are many different parts to this painting too look at. When walking through the museum, this was definitely something that catches ones eye.
  • 10. The Transition Of Central Bank The last five years have been peculiar for the global economy, with recession looming around. Consequently, the role of future monetary policymakers and the interpretation of the effects of the policies have become desperately critical. In order to restore the ailing financial markets, central banks have engaged in activities aimed at reducing the interest rates to zero and expanding the balance sheets. The efforts have gone a long way toward preserving the financial markets and saving the global economy from further depression. However, the actions carry long term risks for central banks and the economies. This paper will delve into the transition of central bankroles in the wake of the recession. Future of Central Banking Central bank existence is justified by the role it plays in the economy. The Federal reserve bank of America plays a dual mandate role as stipulated by the congress act introduced in 1977. Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) recent statements indicate the committee s commitment towards the dual mandate. The committee believes that the solution to the recession that currently hits the economy is its commitment to the dual mandate. However, its push towards achieving the dual mandate is the cause of the slow pace recovery (Orphanides, 2014). For success in the future, central banks should only focus on one target at a time. A more limited role of the central bank is conditional for the economy to recover and grow from recession (Orphanides, 2014).
  • 11. The Tradition Of Wisdom And Immortality And How God... Wisdom literature is unlike previous wisdom writings in Israel by its thematic approach and emphasis on salvation history and immortality and how God rewards the sufferings of the just. Through these narratives light is thrown on the struggles of Judaism in the Greek and Roman eras, upholding values and the fight against pagan ideas; monotheism versus polytheism (Boadt:1984) There are many examples of Wisdom literature found in the Old Testament including I Kings 20:11; Jeremiah 23:28; 31:29. Historians believe the transition from oral sayings to literary wisdom took place in Egypt at approximately 2500 BC and in Sumer shortly afterward. Throughout the Near East, a class of scribes or wise men arose who were highly honoured for creating and/or collecting and refining wise sayings (Ecclesiastes 12:9). This was usually done under the patronage of the court or the temple leaders. The sources of these sayings may originally have been from tribal wisdom, instruction in schools or wise sayings circulated among the nobility. Two of Israel s kings are credited with vitally important contributions in this area: Solomon (I Kings 4:29 34) and Hezekiah (Proverbs 25:1). By the 7th century BC the wise man had gained sufficient prominence in Judah to attain a class distinction equal to prophet or priest (Jeremiah 8:8 9; 18:18). The book of Psalms ( praises ) is wisdom literature in hymn form. The Psalms are 150 sacred songs, composed for the greater part by David or during his reign,
  • 12. Network Based Intrusion Detection Systems ( Idss ) Abstract: Providing security in a distributed system is important as cloud computing provides variety of convenient services. IDS implementation in cloud requires an efficient, scalable and a constructive approach. Many Network based intrusion detection systems(NIDS) are used for the reception of packets from the cloud, but those systems possess lower detection rate, high false positive rate and they fail to resist single point attack. I would like to propose one method which I encountered and found out to be efficient compared to other methods. This unique model has multiple intrusion detection systems (IDSs) that are deployed in each layer of the cloud infrastructure for protecting each Virtual Machine against threats. Another catching feature is that of cloud alliance concept which exchanges mutual alerts to resist the single point attack of failure. Introduction Cloud ComputingThe term cloud is analogical to Internet. Similarly cloud computing is a model for delivering information technology services in which resources are retrieved from the internet through web based tools and applications, rather than a direct connection to a server.(Corey 2008) Figure 1: Overview of Cloud Computing, Source: Sam Johnston, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cloud_computing.svg Cloud computing is Internet based computing wherein the virtual shared servers provide infrastructure, platform and various resources including customer hosting as a service on pay as you use basis. • 15. A Security Plan for Individuals by Virtual Protectors Personal Security One of the most important ways to protect your assets is to educate employees on personal security. Today s attacks are much more sophisticated, and it is much easier to become a target of any number of scams which could leave the company at risk. These risks include user level computer vulnerabilities and social engineering attacks. Personal security starts with creating a strong password for logging into any computer. A password should not use regular dictionary words, family member names, pet names, birthdates, or any personal information. It is best to use a long password that is a minimum of twelve characters long. If possible, special characters in your password along with capital letters, lower case letters, ... Besides antivirus software, another important software program used to empower computer security is personal firewalls. A personal firewall filters content that enters the computer via the Internet or other local network as well as stops malware from spreading (Ciampa, 2014, p. 91). This personal firewall is a separate entity from a network firewall, and both play important roles in computer security. Computers will be programmed to provide personal firewall rules that block questionable connections. Ultimately, any business that wants to protect and secure information on their computer systems should implement these aspects of computer security. Without computer security, a business could easily fail by just taking its first steps into e commerce or any participation within the web. Internet Security Attacks today via the Internet are much more advanced and pose a greater threat to anyone using the Internet. However there are certain practices that should be applied when using the Internet for business purposes. Since DAD s will be dealing with a customer web interface, the business will need to apply for a digital certificate. These certificates are issued by a trusted third party as verification that your website is legitimate and make

Identity and the Way Individuals Shape Their Identities for Themselves One of the central issues of psychology is identity and the way individuals shape their identities for themselves. People live in different regions all around the globe and are consequently exposed to a distinct type of culture, religion, education, family values and media. These influences instill certain rigid values in people from birth, which configures their self concept and the way they perceive other individuals in the society they interact with. The other group will comprise of international Asian students coming from countries like Japan, Pakistan and India. It is hypothesized that the American group will respond by stating more responses that describe their personal traits than the International group will. It is further hypothesized that the International group will respond predominantly by identifying themselves with their groups such as ethnicity, religion and family, significantly more than Americans will. Methods Participants: The majority of the forty participants (20 white Americans, 20 international Asians) were randomly selected among the Amherst College students. The remainder of the pool of participants extended to the international student community of the Smith and Mount Holyoke Colleges. The participants were undergraduate students ranging from freshmen through seniors, and included both men and women. Procedure: Twenty questionnaires were handed out to the Asian students at the Five College International Students Association meeting in the Campus Center. The other twenty questionnaires were distributed among the white Americans in the social dormitories of Amherst College. The participants were instructed to read the questionnaire carefully and respond with five statements describing their identity.

This short story is about Mrs. Mallard, a lady with diagnosed heart trouble, being told of her husbands death, and showing the way she interprets and reacts due to this lost. A theme that is present in this short story is the confinement s of marriage. Kate Chopinuses the imagery of Mrs.Mallards mindset after the discovery of her husbands death, symbols such as that of Mrs. Mallards heart illness, and both the ironic situation and dramatic irony of Mrs. Mallards death at the sight of her husband to contribute to this subject on marriage as a whole. • 19. Ontological Argument Against Anselm Does God exist? According to Anselm of Canterbury of course God exists, and he is able to explain how that is to be. Anselm uses the ontological argument to essentially state that the only way for a perfect creator, God, to be even greater would to exist in reality as opposed to thought, and thus, God exists. This logic is argued against by many philosophers throughout time, most notably by a fellow Benedictine monk, Gaunilo. Gaunilo uses the same logic in reference to the most perfect island and shows the flaws to Anselm s logic. Gaunilo criticizes against Anselm s view on how to confirm the existenceof God using the same method in a form of reductio ad absurdum. In this case the example of a perfect island is utilized. • 20. Human Nature And Development Of Personality Adlerian Therapy Liliana Salazar University of North Texas at Dallas Adlerian Therapy According to Maniacci and Jonhson Migalski (2013), Individual psychology mandates that a person must be understood in the holistic, phenomenological, teleological way (p.179). Adlerians believe heredity and environment influence but do not determine our behaviors. Moreover, every person has to strive for power, and humans develop inferiority feelings as a consequence. Therefore, they need to overcome those feelings (Croake, 1975). This paper explains how the views of human personality as holistic can explain maladjustment in the client, Allen, a 34 year old male who experiences episodes of depression. The paper will explore Allen s personality and the relationship between those past experiences and maladjustment. Human Nature and Development of Personality Croake (1975) argued the human being is a whole, not just parts. Then personality can only be expressed if we take into consideration all aspects of the human being. Adler (1982) pointed out that human nature of personality explains how heredity and environment cannot build an attitude related to life. Instead every person builds on individual experience. He affirmed that humans couldn t be classified. Edgar (1996) explained the medical model does not apply to every person because everyone is unique, and when science tries to explain human mistakes by their genes we are categorizing human beings. According to Adler (1982), the

This in turn made it near impossible for Asian immigrants to become United States citizen. The law heavily impacted people like Bhagat Singh Thind, an Asian Indian, whose citizenship was denied by the United States Supreme Court in the 1923 decision of U.S. vs. Bhagat Singh Thind. He argued Indians are technically Aryans, making him Caucasian. The Court found that the authors of the 1790 statute probably ascribed to the Adamite theory of creation and understood white people in its popular, and not scientific, sense ( United States v. Bhagat Singh Thind. ). The law was not repealed until 1952 (Takaki 14). Although immigrants, like the Irish and Italians, also experienced discrimination, they were still able to become citizens because they fell into the category of white . There were also a number of other different policies passed that prevented Asian immigrants from becoming United States citizens. Entitlements of Rights: We are not obligated to give away our body parts in order to save others, this is heroism and we are obliged to it .Our rights to our bodies weight against whatever duty to help. Accordingly, strangers have only negative rights which are rights against our interference and they don t have the rights to receive some benefits. However, this is not the case with famine relief or helping the poor people since nobody is required to take such an action. The things we have to sacrifice in order to prevent starvation and to help the poor do not jeopardize our health or our well being like donating a kidney. I don t think that anybody can argue that giving 10, 20, or even 1000 dollars a month put us in any kind of risk or can be morally significant if compared to giving away our kidney! Arthur didn t give this comparison any importance since he wanted only to prove our rights to our possessions; and he

Shakespeare has used tragedy to explain on the major paradoxes of life. It can be called a Paradox of disappointment. Defeat, unfulfilled desired, failed hopes and then finally death are some of the faces of tragedies faced by Human. These are realities of life and cannot be avoided. Although they form the foundation of our lives but are still considered as intruders to our ideal version of life. This is the reason why when we are confronted by tragic literature in this particular paradox, we become fascinated. Bradley emphasizes on viewing the literary techniques used not as the basic constituents but as the expression of tragedy. Some of the major characters in Shakespeare s renowned tragedies are Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, and Macbeth. Most of these characters are individual sufferers as in reality; a single man faces the paradoxes of life. A recent show of Gilded Age Dutch paintings that included Vermeer s famous portrait Girl With a Pearl Earring and The Goldfinch by Carel Fabritius drew record crowds and lines that snaked around the block. Most of the collection is on view, but small sculptures, decorative arts objects, and drawings that are in storage will be well suited to exhibition in the family s private rooms. The Frick Collection, which employs 200 full time and 40 part time staff, has an endowment of $325 million. In 1977, the museum tore down three townhouses it bought in the 1940s to build a one story pavilion and two basement classrooms that soon became exhibition spaces. On some of that land, British landscape architect Russell Page designed a 60 by 80 foot garden that faces 70th

  • 47. Fukushima Nuclear Disaster Research Paper Prevent Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Disaster The most extreme way to produce power is by nuclear fission. They do this by splitting single atoms, Nuclear Energy Institute states ?Nuclear power plants obtain the heat needed to produce steam through a physical process. This process, called fission, entails the splitting of atoms of uranium in a nuclear reactor. The uranium fuel consists of small, hard ceramic pellets that are packaged in long, vertical tubes. Bundles of this fuel are inserted into the reactor.? Power produced this way also has drawbacks. Producing this kind of power also produces an extreme amount of heat. If the cooling system loses power the reactor temperature rises dangerously high which will then release radiation, causing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reactor was overheating to the point it was emitting radioactive material. The Tokyo Energy Power Company admitted that they failed to inspect thirty three cooling system equipment for the six reactors about two weeks before the disaster (NYTimes.com). The inspection was to see if the Tokyo Energy Power Company could extend the life of the reactors or to shut them down, which the reactors failed the inspection, but the TEPCO decided to extend the lives of the reactors according to the NY Times. The NY times also stated ?regulators said that ?maintenance management was inadequate? and that the ?quality of inspection was insufficient?? (nytimes.com). • 48. Relationship Between Cinema And Cinema Architecture is a slow and mute medium that is experienced gradually and spatially, often presented to us through a sequence of images. The mere arrangement of these images has a direct impact on the way we experience and interact with a space, which is explicitly in conjunction with the discipline of cinema. Cinema, as a fast and transparent medium, has an uncanny ability to magnify and augment this spatial experience through the strategic manipulation of the composition seen within a frame. The relationship between cinema and architectureis evident, on account that cinema employs the power of a narrativeto convey a meaningful message, and pictorial symbolism in its framing of architecture. However, excluding the obvious parallels of composition and organization between the two forms of art, they differ quite definitively on the basis of representation. As such, the presented approach attempts to identify the relevant narrative concepts within architecture and cinema so as to reveal the hidden undertone that may or may not directly influence our experience of a space. Storytelling, as a form of narrative, is experienced cerebrally and has enabled cultures to immortalize their fables and encounters. Architectural narratives, on the other hand, are experienced spatially, i.e. through a series of physical patterns and concepts that articulate place and meaning within a physical structure. Per se, architecture and architects, through the weaving of a compelling narrative,
  • 49. Essay On Health Care Left or right? Political beliefs in America tend to be sorted as leftist or rightist. This binary mentality puts limitations on non binary issues such as healthcare. The lens which healthcare is viewed in the United States needs to be more of a panorama, considering all factors big and small. Healthcare systems are typically rated based upon three fundamental factors: access, cost, and quality. The fundamental differences in opinions of how the American healthcare system should run can all be tied back to how much each factor is valued to its corresponding party s belief system. The mindset of Americans needs to be transformed in order to effectively create a reasonable plan, which works for the majority of its citizens. This is an issue... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The clinics have shaped me into the person I am today. I experienced the impact of the healthcare structure in America and its vital role that it plays in the lives of all types of Americans. I remember drawing at the kids corner at the Spina Bifida clinic and my blue crayon rolling off the table. Before I even processed that the crayon fell, a girl in a wheelchair started to make her way all the way around the table to pick up the crayon for me. I was blown away with the compassion this girl displayed even on a miserable day of testing. This simple act of kindness is my fondest memory from the clinic. As I became a teenager, we would play videogames together in the waiting area. The fact that these kids managed to withstand whatever life threw at them made me realize I could handle whatever test or procedure the doctors threw at me. I thought to myself, Why am I the lucky one who is so fortunate to be able to walk? With every step on my way to the nurse that had called my name, I felt more weight of another kid envying my ability to walk. I felt guilty as if I was the one responsible for their problems. It is this sense of guilt that has forever impacted the way I see the world; I am much more grateful for what I have. But this is only half of the story. Too often we forget that, unfortunately, millions of Americans face the issue of overpriced healthcare services. This is certainly a major social issue that needs to be
