2. GRAVIDA (G)
It denotes a pregnant state both present and past
irrespective of period of gestation (POG)

3. PERIOD OF GESTATION (POG)
 It is the period of fetal development from the
time of conception until birth.
 The average length of human gestation is 280
days or 40 weeks, from the first day of last
menstrual period.

4. PARITY (P)
It denotes a state of previous pregnancy
beyond period of viability (28 weeks).

5. VIABILITY
It usually means that fetus is alive not dead.

6. NULLIPARA
It denotes one who has never completed
a pregnancy to the stage of viability. She
may or may not undergo any abortion
previously.

7. PRIMIGRAVIDA
It denotes one who has delivered one viable child.

8. MULTIGRAVIDA
It denotes one who has previously been pregnant.
She may have aborted or have delivered a viable
baby.

9. PARTURIENT
Is a woman in Labour.

10. NULLIGRAVIDA
It denotes one who is not now and never
has been pregnant.

11. PRIMIGRAVIA
It denotes one who is pregnant for first time.

12. MULTIPARA
It denotes one who has delivered 2 or more
children.

13. PUERPERA
It denotes a women who has just given birth to
newborn.

14. EMBRYO
Human conceptus called embryo till 8 weeks of
pregnancy.

15. FETUS
From 9th week till delivery.

16. PREGNANCY
It is a state of female from conception till birth.
