OBJECTIVE OF PROJECT
 Our object of making this project is for reducing the power consumption. And also
to assist people who are disabled and are unable to control the speed of fan and
control of light based on temperature & intensity of sun light.
 It may also be used for monitoring changes in environment.
 In near future, it can also be used in different industries and electronic devices.

INTRODUCTION
 A simple introduction about the temperature controller and LDR circuitry.
 This circuit project is mainly used for indicating temperature and Illumination ,
controlling fan & lamp .
 Microcontroller forms the processing part.
 In Fan controller circuit, there are two parts consisting of
 Arduino UNO-R3 using ATMEG328P-PU controller
 LCD interface
 The hardware circuits of fan and light controller need the programming.

 Programming is usually loaded in the Arduino UNO-R3 using ATMEG328P-PU
controller IC.
 The main principle of this project to indicate temperature and light also to control
the fan and Lamp.

Literature Review
• Deepali Javale 2013 at al, the research paper on
Home Automation and Security System Using Android
, that the paper put forwards the design of home
automation and security system using Android. The
design is based on a standalone embedded system
board Android at home.
• Home automation not only refers to reduce human
efforts but also energy efficiency and time saving. The
main objective of home automation and security is to
help handicapped and old aged people which will
enable them to control home appliances and alert
them in critical situations.

• Marie-Claude Dubois (2011) at al, This article presents
key energy use figures and explores the energy saving
potential for electric lighting in office buildings based on
a review of relevant literature, with special emphasis on
a North European con-text. The review reveals that
theoretical calculations, measurements in full-scale
rooms and simulations with validated lighting programs
indicate that an energy intensity of around 10 kWh/m is
a realistic target for office electric lighting in future low
energy office buildings
• Temperature sensor based fan speed control, Visual
display using LCD display unit, Watering depends on the
moisture level present in the field.

• K. N. Ramli (2014) at al, , they proposed research paper on
Development of Home Energy Management System Using
Arduino, the arduino is developed as a controller to manage
the lamp, fan and air conditioner. It correspond the relay,
lamp and fan via PIR sensor, and air conditioner via
temperature sensor.
• The energy consumed by the electrical appliances can be
saved by at least 1.5% with the implementation of arduino.

• Bader M. O (2014) at al, this paper presents design and
implementation concepts for a wireless real-time home
automation system based on Arduino Uno
microcontroller as central controller topic of research
paper on Design and Implemenatation of a reliable
wireless real- time home automation system based on
Arduino uno single- board microcontroller.
• Result in the proposed system is shown to be a simple,
cost effective and flexible that making it a suitable and a
good candidate for the smart home future.

ADVANTAGES
As per Model :
• Data monitoring facility
• Data logging facility
• Flexibility in changing functioning as software called arduino program installed inside the
Controller (Easily editable program)
• No maintenance and cost effective as data logging facility in present market is very
costlier
• Product is compact in shape
As per Product price and Economic calculation:
• Payback Period (6 months)
• As Product is of (Rs. 630 only/-) cover all the expenses required for product
implementation which is very low
• Uniform series, capital recovery is (Rs. 123 only/-) per month, about a period of one
year with a rate of interest 10%
• As per calculation product overcome with investment cost within 2 months

DISADVANTAGES
• Vary in accuracy
• Due to temperature and illumination variation,
after sometimes its efficiency may decrease.

Conclusion
• A new method of integrating arduino with relay and transistor for any
energy management system is proposed. The arduino is developed as a
controller to manage the lamp and fan. It correspond the relay, lamp
via LDR sensor, and fan via temperature sensor. The energy consumed
by the electrical appliances can be saved by at least 40 % with the
implementation of arduino as compared with existing fan and lamp
without any dimming fan and lamp controller.
• Freely available software’s and cost effective electronic equipment’s
leads to cheeper projects can be implemented on public awareness.

Conclusion

  • 3. OBJECTIVE OF PROJECT  Our object of making this project is for reducing the power consumption. And also to assist people who are disabled and are unable to control the speed of fan and control of light based on temperature & intensity of sun light.  It may also be used for monitoring changes in environment.  In near future, it can also be used in different industries and electronic devices. 8/17/2017 Energy System Engineering 3

INTRODUCTION  A simple introduction about the temperature controller and LDR circuitry.  This circuit project is mainly used for indicating temperature and Illumination , controlling fan & lamp .  Microcontroller forms the processing part.  In Fan controller circuit, there are two parts consisting of  Arduino UNO-R3 using ATMEG328P-PU controller  LCD interface  The hardware circuits of fan and light controller need the programming. 8/17/2017 Energy System Engineering 4

Literature Review • Deepali Javale 2013 at al, the research paper on Home Automation and Security System Using Android , that the paper put forwards the design of home automation and security system using Android. The design is based on a standalone embedded system board Android at home. • Home automation not only refers to reduce human efforts but also energy efficiency and time saving. The main objective of home automation and security is to help handicapped and old aged people which will enable them to control home appliances and alert them in critical situations. 8/17/2017 Energy System Engineering 6

Literature Review (contd…) • Marie-Claude Dubois (2011) at al, This article presents key energy use figures and explores the energy saving potential for electric lighting in office buildings based on a review of relevant literature, with special emphasis on a North European con-text. The review reveals that theoretical calculations, measurements in full-scale rooms and simulations with validated lighting programs indicate that an energy intensity of around 10 kWh/m is a realistic target for office electric lighting in future low energy office buildings • Temperature sensor based fan speed control, Visual display using LCD display unit, Watering depends on the moisture level present in the field. 8/17/2017 Energy System Engineering 7

Ramli (2014) at al, , they proposed research paper on Development of Home Energy Management System Using Arduino, the arduino is developed as a controller to manage the lamp, fan and air conditioner. It correspond the relay, lamp and fan via PIR sensor, and air conditioner via temperature sensor. • The energy consumed by the electrical appliances can be saved by at least 1.5% with the implementation of arduino. 8/17/2017 Energy System Engineering 8

O (2014) at al, this paper presents design and implementation concepts for a wireless real-time home automation system based on Arduino Uno microcontroller as central controller topic of research paper on Design and Implemenatation of a reliable wireless real- time home automation system based on Arduino uno single- board microcontroller. • Result in the proposed system is shown to be a simple, cost effective and flexible that making it a suitable and a good candidate for the smart home future. 8/17/2017 Energy System Engineering 9

ADVANTAGES As per Model : • Data monitoring facility • Data logging facility • Flexibility in changing functioning as software called arduino program installed inside the Controller (Easily editable program) • No maintenance and cost effective as data logging facility in present market is very costlier • Product is compact in shape As per Product price and Economic calculation: • Payback Period (6 months) • As Product is of (Rs. 630 only/-) cover all the expenses required for product implementation which is very low • Uniform series, capital recovery is (Rs. 123 only/-) per month, about a period of one year with a rate of interest 10% • As per calculation product overcome with investment cost within 2 months 8/17/2017 Energy System Engineering 12

  • 14. Conclusion • A new method of integrating arduino with relay and transistor for any energy management system is proposed. The arduino is developed as a controller to manage the lamp and fan. It correspond the relay, lamp via LDR sensor, and fan via temperature sensor. The energy consumed by the electrical appliances can be saved by at least 40 % with the implementation of arduino as compared with existing fan and lamp without any dimming fan and lamp controller. • Freely available software’s and cost effective electronic equipment’s leads to cheeper projects can be implemented on public awareness. 8/17/2017 Energy System Engineering 14
