John Loggie Baird is considered the inventor of the first working television system. He was the first to demonstrate transmitting live moving images over long distances in 1926. While Baird's system was different than modern TV, it proved that television was possible. This helped spur further innovations in television technology by others like Philo Farnsworth, who made images clearer by using 60 horizontal lines. Today, television has become one of the most important communication technologies, found in almost every home worldwide.
