Introduction 
● As we all know, the television is a device which 
alllows us to see images and listen to sounds at the 
same time. 
● Is very common that in the developed countries 
people have at least one TV at home. 
● At the television you can see a wide variety of 
programs, like soap-operas, sit-coms, 
documentaries, news... 
● The word television comes from Ancient Greek τῆλε 
(tèle), meaning "far", and Latin visio, meaning 
"sight".
Inventor 
● The TV's origin started in 1884 when 
PaulNipkow designed the scanning disk, a very 
important piece in the development of television. 
● In the year 1925, John Logie Baird designed 
other components of the television, and in 1927 
he made the first public transmision of the TV, in 
London.
