television. He was an Armenian inventor,
electrical engineer.

On TV everything is much more real. TV
keeps us informed about current events,
extends the education, allows us to
follow the latest developments in science
and politics and offers an endless number
of programmes which are both instructive
and entertaining. So it gives us a lot of
useful information and it is exciting.

Alexander Popov invented
his first radio receiver.
Alexander Popov invented
a wireless communications
system at about the same
time as Italian inventor
Marconi. The main
difference between the
two men was that Popov
was a scientist without the
business ambitions of
Marconi, and wasn't as
interested in selling his
invention.

Radio is the leading reach platform: 93% of
people listen to radio over the airwaves,
which is higher than TV viewership.
The majority of radio usage comes from
employed listeners. They listen to the radio
while working full-time.
President Franklin Roosevelt was the first
public figure to use the radio.
The term "disk jockey" that is DJ was created
in 1935 by a famous radio commentator
Walter Winchell.

Radio is important in the 21st century
because it provides an opportunity for
people who cannot access television.
Radio also provides entertainment and
information.
The radio is important in both developing
and fully developed countries for
information provision.
The radio plays an essential role in
communication today by remaining
available when other communication
mediums, such as television and Internet,
are inaccessible by weather or other
interference.
Radio inspires listeners. Old radios hold a
special nostalgic and sentimental value.
