Mr. Santosh Ostwal created NanoGanesh, a remote control device connected to water pumps that allows farmers to turn pumps on and off from their mobile phones. It received recognition in 2008. NanoGanesh helps farmers save time, energy, electricity, and water by automating pump controls. It works using separate ringtones to control pumps and provides information on power availability and pump status. The device is affordable starting at Rs. 560 and helps conserve resources while improving rural communication infrastructure and creating local jobs. Over 50,000 units have been sold across Maharashtra. Growth is expected to be high in line with growth in rural mobile penetration.

developed the system were we are using Arduino Atmega328 and current sensors and GSM module attached to every pole. The current sensor keeps the track of amount of current pass through it. When this supply reaches to other end of the pole than the current sensor available at pole 2 will measure the current receive and gives the reading to the Arduino Atmega328. Then the Arduino compares the current readings to the previous readings and if the supply is not approximately equal than the Atmega328 trigger the GSM module. Then the GSM module will send the SMS to the distributor that the amount of current received is not approximately equal and there is some illegal action occurred in the section from pole 1 to pole 2. This will help the distributor to overcome the losses and where the losses will be take place and the theft of the electricity

In this system a micro controller is interfaced with an energy metering circuit current sensing circuit, RF communication & a contactor to make or break power line. If current is drawing & energy pulses are mundane then no puissance is larceny. If current is drawing & energy pulses are not coming then it designates power larceny. So microcontroller trip the o/p utilizing relay. This information is sent to substation utilizing wireless communication. Line faults may be caused due to over current or earth fault. If there transpires to be a connection between two phase lines then over current fault occurs. Earth fault occurs due to the earthing of phase line through cross arm or any other way.

This project provides the development of mobile phone as remote control application for submersible motor pump which is used in agriculture irrigation. The motor connections depends upon its horse power, it may be Direct on line or Star Delta. The motor is controlled by the micro controller and the present status of motor is sensed and it is automatically controlled by itself and the information is transmitted to the corresponding person through GSM network. The GSM mobile phone is used as an alternative to turn on and off the motor through a message or a missed call and also to send message to the owner about the following three faults. A micro controller is used to detect the three types of fault which cause damage to the motor. The first one is single phase absence fault detection and if it occurs the micro controller will automatically turn of the motor. The micro controller also includes the protection against over current or over load and also from dry running. It is expected that this application will be comfortable for the farmers and this provides easy access of motor to a greater extent. All these control process are achieved by using a PIC microcontroller, GSM and Different interfacing and control circuits.

shock , hard work and working in difficult environment condition. This system discards the
conventional methods of irrigation work. In present work the author has designed and developed a
automatic sprinkler irrigation system which is controlled and monitored by a microcontroller
interfaced with display device , current flow sensor, solenoid valves and GSM modems. Given
command to stop , start , interrupt and parameters under monitoring are stored in a memory based
upon which microcontroller takes decision to run the system. Provision of protection against dry run
and overload of motor coupled with centrifugal pump is also incorporated. Options using selector
switches make this system compatible with single phase motor and three phase motor. It obsoletes the
mechanical work of farmers by automatically changing over sprinkler water lines in sequence after
running for a period of set time decided by farmer and switch off the water pump house motor upon
completion of irrigation work using GSM modems interfaced with microcontrollers.

Cities that use networked motion-detection lights can save 70-80 per cent of electricity and costs, according to an independent, global trial of LED technology.
A smart street lighting system incorporates clusters of streetlight lamps that can communicate with each other and provide lighting data to a local centraliser. The centraliser manages and transmits the relevant data, often via a wireless network or GSM, to a secure server that captures the data and presents it in a web-browser interface.
This acts as a two-way communication which allows facility managers to remotely control the street lights while keeping track of electrical power consumption.
