Abstract: The coin-based mobile battery charger developed in this paper is providing a unique service to the rural public where grid power is not available for partial/full daytime and a source of revenue for site providers. The coin-based mobile battery charger can be quickly and easily installed outside any business premises. The mobile phone market is a vast industry, and has spread into rural areas as a essential means of communication. While the urban population use more sophisticated mobiles with good power batteries lasting for several days, the rural population buy the pre-owned mobile phones that require charging frequently. Many times battery becomes flat in the middle of conversation particularly at inconvenient times when access to a standard charger isn't possible. The coin-based mobile battery chargers are designed to solve this problem. The user has to plug the mobile phone into one of the adapters and insert a coin; the phone will then be given a micro-pulse for charging. It does not bring a mobile from 'dead' to fully charged state. The charging capacity of the mobile is designed with the help of pre-defined values. It is, of course, possible to continue charging the mobile by inserting more coins. This compact and lightweight product is designed to cater for the growing number of rural mobile users worldwide. A suitable microcontroller is programmed for all the controlling applications. The source for charging is obtained from solar energy and back up storage battery in case of non-availability of solar energy.

This paper proposes a system to detect illegal electricity usage using power line communication (PLC). The system would add a secondary digital energy meter and PLC modem at the connection point between a user's line and the main power lines. It would also compare the energy readings from the secondary meter to the primary meter included in the existing automatic meter reading (AMR) system. If the readings differ, it would indicate illegal usage and generate an error signal. The system was tested in simulations and showed accurate detection of illegal loads for about $20-25 per subscriber, providing an economical solution to reduce distribution losses.
Power Theft Identification and Monitoring using GSM module
developed the system were we are using Arduino Atmega328 and current sensors and GSM module attached to every pole. The current sensor keeps the track of amount of current pass through it. When this supply reaches to other end of the pole than the current sensor available at pole 2 will measure the current receive and gives the reading to the Arduino Atmega328. Then the Arduino compares the current readings to the previous readings and if the supply is not approximately equal than the Atmega328 trigger the GSM module. Then the GSM module will send the SMS to the distributor that the amount of current received is not approximately equal and there is some illegal action occurred in the section from pole 1 to pole 2. This will help the distributor to overcome the losses and where the losses will be take place and the theft of the electricity

The coin-based mobile battery charger can be quickly and easily installed outside any business premises. The mobile phone market is a vast industry, and has spread into rural areas as a essential means of communication. While the urban population use more sophisticated mobiles with good power batteries lasting for several days, the rural population buy the pre-owned mobile phones that require charging frequently. Many times battery becomes flat in the middle of conversation particularly at inconvenient times when access to a standard charger isn't possible. The coin-based mobile battery chargers are designed to solve this problem. The user has to plug the mobile phone into one of the adapters and insert a coin; the phone will then be given a micro-pulse for charging. It does not bring a mobile from 'dead' to fully charged state. The charging capacity of the mobile is designed with the help of pre-defined values. It is, of course, possible to continue charging the mobile by inserting more coins. This compact and lightweight product is designed to cater for the growing number of rural mobile users worldwide. A suitable microcontroller is programmed for all the controlling applications. The source for charging is obtained from solar energy and back up storage battery in case of non-availability of solar energy.

The customers included the City Temple and the Old Bailey. Another important customer was the Telegraph Office of the General Post Office, but this could not be reached through the culverts. Johnson arranged for the supply cable to be run overhead, via Holborn Tavern and Newgate.[3]
In September 1882 in New York, the Pearl Street Station was established by Edison to provide electric lighting in the lower Manhattan Island area. The station ran until destroyed by fire in 1890. The station used reciprocating steam engines to turn direct-current generators. Because of the DC distribution, the service area was small, limited by voltage drop in the feeders. In 1886 George Westinghouse began building an alternating current system that used a transformer to step up voltage for long-distance transmission and then stepped it back down for indoor lighting, a more efficient and less expensive system which is similar to modern systems. The war of the currents eventually resolved in favor of AC distribution and utilization, although some DC systems persisted to the end of the 20th century. Analysis and design of grid connected photovoltaic systems
This paper proposes a new architecture for grid-connected photovoltaic systems called multiple-integrated converter modules sharing an unfolding full-bridge inverter with a pseudo dc link (MIPs). The proposed MIPs configuration can improve power conversion efficiency, reduce control circuit complexity, and lower costs. It consists of distributed flyback DC-DC converters and an unfolding full-bridge inverter with an AC filter. Experimental results validate the performance of the proposed design and confirm over 99% maximum power point tracking efficiency.

- 1. SYNOPSIS WIRELESS POWER THEFT MONITERING SYSTEM Power theft is the biggest problem now days, which causes huge loss to electricity boards. And to cover these losses ultimately, price are increased. So if we can prevent these thefts, we can save lot of power. By keeping track of electricity used, you determine where the greatest opportunity for energy savings lies. Becoming aware of overall energy use involves keeping track of the readings on the readings on the electric meter. The normal practice for power theft is to short the input and output terminals or to place a magnet on the wheel in case of old meters. So by sensing current flow through the line & energy feed back we can prevent it using a circuit breaker. In this system, a micro controller is interfaced with an energy metering circuit, current sensing circuit, RF communication link, & a contactor to make or break power line. At the sub-station end, a pc is connected with a RF link to communicate with all energy meters & a buzzer. In normal condition, micro controller reads energy pulses & current signals. If current is drawing &energy pulses are normal, then no power theft is being done & the o/p is connected. If current is drawing & energy pulses are not coming, then it indicates that power theft. So microcontroller trips the o/p using relay. This information is sent to substation using wireless communication In the substation, it receives the information in the form of digital codes & on decoding it, we can know at which house power theft occurred.
