2. INTRODUCTION
The workshops are organised to
develop the psychomotor aspects of
the learner regarding practices of
new innovations in area of education
under this technique participants
have do some practical work to
produce instructional teaching and
testing material.
3. MEANING OF WORKSHOP
A workshop is a period of discussion or
practical work on a particular subject in
which a group of people share their
knowledge or experience.
A group of people engaged in study or
work on a creative project or subject.
A workshop is a building which contains
tools or machinery for making or repairing
things, especially using wood or metal.
A brief intensive educational program for a
relatively small group of people that
focuses especially on techniques and skills
in a particular field.
4. DEFINITION OF WORKSHOP
Workshop is defined as assembled group of
10 – 25 persons who share a common
interest and problem. They meet together to
improve their individual and skills of a
subject through intensive study, research,
practices and discussion.
A small establishment where manufacturing
or handicrafts are carried on.
Workroom.
A usually brief intensive educational
program for a relatively small group of
people that focuses especially on techniques
and skills in a particular field.
5. I think that, in principle, a workshop
is such a beautiful idea – an
environment in which writers who
are collectively apprenticed to the
craft of writing can come together
in order to collectively improve.

CONDUCT A WORKSHOP
• The beginning of something new.
• The initial training of staff or volunteers.
• The in-service or ongoing training of

Preparing instruction material or teaching model.
Workshop of microteaching.
Workshop for interactional analysis technique.
Workshop for task construction.
Workshop for preparing research synopsis or proposals.

11. Procedure of Workshop
Generally workshops are organized for three to ten days. The
experts are invited to provide the awareness and understanding
of the topic. Paper reading is done to discuss the different
aspects of the theme. Trainee or participants are giving
opportunities to seek clarification. Experts provide suitable
illustration and steps for using it in classroom teaching or
education. This stage continues first two days of the schedule.
Now the group – is divided into small groups. Every participant
has to work individually and independently. Every trainee has to
complete his task within the given period. At the end they meet
in their groups and discuss and present their reports of work
done at second stage. The participants are given opportunities
to comment and give suggestions for further improvement.
Experts also provide suggestions on different aspects of the
reports.
12. IMPORTANCE OF WORKSHOP
It helps in making the class learning
environment mature and productive.
It develops qualities like original thinking,
learning while doing and co-operative with
others.
It helps to develop cognitive, psychomotor
and cognitive domains of an individual with
improvement in overall personality.
It encourages collective work in fulfilling the
cause of exploration and consolidation of
information in a specified area.
13. ADVANTAGES OF WORKSHOP
TECHNIQUE
* It is used to realize the higher cognitive and psychomotor
objectives.
* It is a technique which can be effectively used for
developing understanding and proficiency for the
approaches and practice in education
* It is used to developing and improving professional
efficiency Example: Medical, nursing, teaching etc.
* The teacher proficiencies can be developed by using the
workshop technique for in-service teaching.
* It provides the opportunities and situation to develop the
individual capacity of a teacher.
* It develops the feeling of cooperation and group work.
* It provides the situation to study the vocational problem.
14. LIMITATION OF WORKSHOP
# The in-service teachers do not take interest
to understands and use the new practices in
their classroom.
# The workshop cannot be organized for large
group so that large numbers of persons are
trained.
# The teachers do not take interest in practical
work or to do something in productive forms.
# The effectiveness of a workshop depends on
the follow-up programme. It requires a lot of
time from participant and staff. It also
demands special facilities and materials
which are usually not available.
15. Conclusion
Workshop is a room or building which provides both
the area and tools (Machinery) that may be require
for the manufacture of repair manufactured goods.
