Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Task 6 What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
1. Task 6
What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. iMac
For our Main task we used iMacs for
doing research on the internet, writing
on our blog, some of our planning,
uploading our footage we shot for the
main task. For the editing main task we
used 3 different software and they
were final cut express, Livetype and
Soundtrack to complete our opening
sequence. The advantages of using a
iMac was that we could use the
software we needed to edit our
opening sequence that other
computers could not offer us. The
disadvantage of using the iMac was I
had only used mac a few times before,
so I had to learn how to use a mac
computer as I had only used PCs
before.
3. Flip Camera
When we shot our main task
we used a Flip camera. The
advantages of using a flip
camera our that it is easy to
use, it is light so we found it
was easy to carry around
when we were going to
different locations and the
we could use it free.
However the disadvantages
of using the flip were it had a
short battery life as we ran
out of battery during
shooting and the video
quality is not great.
4. Tripod
Also during production we
used a tripod for all of our
shots. The advantages of using
a tripod was that it prevented
are shots from being jumpy
and it was easy to use.
However the disadvantages of
using the tripod is that it takes
a while to set up for each shot
and when we were going to
different locations it was
heavy to carry around.
5. Final Cut Express
When we used Final Cut Express we put Finally we added the titles we made
all of our footage on the timeline that we in Livetype by putting them on to
had uploaded on the computer. We did Final cut in the browser and then
this by dragging all of our shots down putting them on the timeline. Also we
from the browser and putting them in the did the same with our Music we used
right order for the title sequence. We by dragging it down from the browser
then selected what shots we were going and putting them in the timeline.
to use and deleted all of our bad shot and
all the shots that we did not need. With
some of the shots shortened them to
make match on action work and we did
this buy dragging the end of the clip on
the timeline forward slightly to were we
wanted the clip to end. We also added
effects to some of our shots and we did
this by selecting the shot we wanted to
be edit, then clicking on effects in the tool
bar and then finally adding the effect we
want to that shot.
6. Live type
For our titles we created them in
Livetype. We download the titles wanted
from the internet from the website
www.dafont.com and added them into
Livetype. Once they were in Livetype we
typed in the text box what we wanted
our titles to say. Secondly we placed the
titles where we wanted them to be
placed on the screen by clicking and
dragging the titles to where we wanted
them to appear. We also added effects
to some titles and we did this by clicking
on effects and then looking through the
effects that where on live type and
choosing an effect for the title. Also we
choose the colour of the titles by clicking
on the colour option and selecting a
colour. Finally how long the titles would
last for on screen. By dragging the title
on the timeline to make it shorter or
longer.
7. Soundtrack
We used soundtrack to put the music we got
from a loyalty free website that we wanted
to use in our opening sequence. We put the
music on to soundtrack because it meant
will could easily. We did this by saving the
music we got from the internet (which was
loyalty free) in our files on the computer.
Then we put the music we got from the
internet on to soundtrack. On Soundtrack
we worked out how long we wanted each
song to last in our opening sequence so we
change the length of the songs we were
using on soundtrack. Once we had finished
adjusting our song for Final cut express we
saved it and put it on Final cut express.
