The document summarizes the process taken to create a magazine article in InDesign for a target audience of young teenagers. Images were taken on a phone, imported into InDesign using rectangle and ellipse frames, and cropped as needed. Text was added in three column layout across two pages. Fonts and colors were chosen to appeal to teenagers rather than children. The finished piece was saved as a JPEG and stored locally and as a backup to accompany the submission.

2. A selection of the photographs / video /
graphics and copy you have made, and
reasons for choosing it
I have chosen all these images because they fit In with
the genre of my articles which is about young teenagers
and also make-up also what is happening to young
teenagers and things you can do to help and make it
better
3. I chose this as my
final a main
image in my
article because it
fits in with what
my article is
about also
because my
model is a young
teenagers I
thought that it
would appeal for
to my target
audience
because they are
also supposed to
be young
teenagers.
Also my model looks very stylish so it would attract more people also what my model is
wearing and the background suits the theme of my article. I made sure that what my
model was wearing would suit the background of my chosen scenery.
4. Sourcing and importing this material to
InDesign
In InDesign I used the ‘Rectangle
frame tool for most of my pictures I
also used ‘Ellipse frame tool’ this
just makes the image into a circle
image but in my opinion the
rectangle frame tool is the best for
putting in images because all of
your image is in their where as with
the others it would have to crop
some bits of your picture out. After
making a space where I want to
place my image I then went on fil
and pressed place I could then
easily move my image around and
make it as big or even smaller then
the rectangle I had placed.
I used my phone to take the pictures
and I sent it to my email which I then
download from the computer and put
in my file
5. Evidence of importing- e.g. printscreens
showing the source, file formats such as
JPEGs, AIs, ID, uploading and transferring
from other devices such as cameras and / or
your smartphone
I transferred my pictures that I took on my phone into my email and
downloaded them from their.

8. • Experiments on Photoshop and InDesign: scaling, cropping, colour
correction, page layout such as gutters and columns, image
manipulation, editing text, placement of text, images and graphics,
styles.
9. How I started it off
• I stared of by using a A4 page and
separated it into 3 columns on each
page of my double page spread. I
then starting adding pages of where
my texts would be by using the text
took which allows you to select a
part on your page where you would
like your text to go. I then used the
rectangle took box to put in my
images and I also used the Ellipse
tool for one of my images which
would make my image into a circle
image. I then started putting all my
images and texts and heading
together and when they was all put
in place I had to see if it all went in
together and suited I decided to
change a few things like the layout of
my first image and how big it was
after I did all of my changes I then
analysed it to see if everything fit in
together.
10. I didn’t use Photoshop for any of my images I only used InDesign.
For my heading I changed the font of my heading because what I had at the beginning didn’t
go with my image and writing when I put it all together. I placed my heading a bit down from
the first column because it looked more unique then always having the heading at the top of
my article as do many articles.
I decided to use a
more fancy font
because it went
with my article
more then any of
the other fronts.
Heading
11. Page layout
• A first my image was going to be small and only be at the top of my
two columns then I saw that my article looked a bit plain at the top
on my third article so I decided to make my image bigger to fit all my
three columns' also had to crop some of my image out because it
wasn’t going to fit into my three column page so I had to crop some
of the top of my image and some from the bottom of my image.
12. Text
• I separated my double page spread into three columns on each page
so six columns in total this aloud because of this it aloud be to write
even more then I wanted to because I had a lot I wanted to put in
also when put all together it looked really good next tot my heading
and my images.in each column I was going to start of writing a new
paragraph but it was difficult to do that when placing my text into
each individually column because some paragraphs would be to
short and some would be to long so I would have to carry it on in the
next column.
13. Colours in my magazine
• In my magazine I didn’t use a lot of bright light colours because then
that would indicate that it is targeted for children when it is not so I
chose to go for more darker colours that would appeal to my target
audience. Even most of my backgrounds where either dark or just
plan backgrounds.
14. Evidence of naming, logging and storing your
finished piece - using an appropriate file
name, format, saved locally and as a back-
up.
To accompany this, I will also carry out
observations of your progress

17. I then saved all of my articles from InDesign as a jpeg and put it in my pictures files so I
could then go and upload it onto my blogger with having to screenshot and crop and
articles.
