Activity We are all different, we will have a different preferred style for Networking Do you know what your style is?
How might these behaviours be perceived by others???
How do you come across? What impression do you want to give? What works for you? What doesn’t work for you? What do you need to do to adapt to meet the needs of others? How will you achieve this?
Behaviour Types Personality Industry Values Shared Interest and Vision Purpose
Behaviour
Elevator Pitch Does it need a re-vamp? What are you saying? Is it working?
Elevator Pitch Write down the "deliverables" -- the services or features that you provide. Then, think in terms of the benefits that your clients or employer could derive from these services. You could use successful client outcomes. Once you've got that written, create an opening sentence that will grab the listener's attention, as our Avon representative did above. The best openers leave the listener wanting more information. Finally, your elevator speech must roll off your tongue with ease. Practice it! Do you sound confident? Sincere? Is it engaging? Tweak accordingly.
Communication
Being able to get on well with other people Getting the most out of what you've got – using your skills well
Ideas for different questions Where were you born? How many siblings do you have? Where did you go on your last holiday? What is your favourite food? What are your hobbies/interests?
Top Tips Consistency - Remember not always in Famine Commitment - Keep attending Be Targeted - attend groups which will help you to reach your goal Consider it as part of your Marketing plan and part of your job Become known - look at other areas of exposure Be Interested - Genuinely! Be organised - Use whatever system that suits you Follow Through on promises - and promptly Give first – Receive second Don’t’ try and sell – Enthusiasm and Passion work better
Good Luck!
