    Our client is one of the largest US based contract manufacturers,
importers, and distributors of apparel, including men’s women’s and
children’s apparel. The company was founded in 1970 and is based
in Columbus, Ohio. They have grown from a cottage industry to a
global force in apparel sourcing and manufacturing. They have
manufacturing operations and joint ventures in more than a dozen
countries including China, Israel, Mexico, and Sri Lanka.
About the role
Position : Technical Services Manager
Location: Taiwan
Industry : Apparel Manufacturing


Be the country Technical leader overseeing the QA & Fit Technical
functions to support all Taiwan production across all internal/ external
brands.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Talent Management

• Lead the QA and Fit teams of Taiwan office - provide strategic direction and oversight in operations to
ensure seamless execution. Manage exceptional quality/tech call-outs from leaders.

• Develop next level bench strength and build/enhance visibility of associates with brands and other
offices; equip them with the necessary management/leadership skills to lead his/her function
independently.

• Drive and facilitate cross-function development to enhance the team's capability and scalability. Assess
manpower situation and get alignment to re-deploy resources (perm, temp, factory implant) as
appropriate to meet business needs.

Regional Function Initiatives

• Be the project leader for regional function initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
• At least 10 years garment industry experience preferably in a Senior Technical or QA
leadership role

• Degree/Diploma in fashion and clothing technology or its equivalent

• Good knowledge of fit/patterns, grading, sewing and wet processing technology.

• Strong leadership skills with a strategic mindset.

• Good team player and able to build effective relationship at all levels

• Strong communication skill in both English and Chinese.
Taiwan               Taiwanese society is generally egalitarian, people
         are warm, friendly and interested in visitors from other
         countries -- foreign nationals living in Taiwan often remark on
         how easy it is to fit in here. In addition, Taiwan's unique blend
         of Taoist, Buddhist and Confucian traditions creates an
         atmosphere that is particularly tolerant of other religions and
         denominations.
                     Due to a long and energetic construction boom,
         housing is relatively inexpensive and rents have actually come
         down over the last 5 years. A commonly cited average for
         Taipei housing rental is NTD1,000 per ping (about 3.3 sq
         meters). A security deposit of at least 2 months is generally
         required.
                     Many corporate expats live in modern security
         apartments in the Tienmu district in North Taipei and Sindian
         (formerly spelled Hsintien) in Southern Taipei. Prices of
         course vary according to inclusion of amenities and facilities
         such as air conditioning and swimming pools. Rental is
         proportionately less expensive in Taiwan's other cities.

stuffs and beverages are available here.

             Taiwan has made great strides in accommodating the staffing needs of international
companies with operations in Taiwan. Not only have application requirements and procedures for
work permits for foreign nationals been clarified and streamlined through the consolidation of
what was once the domain of many different agencies into a single window, many restrictions have
either been lifted or significantly relaxed for multinationals, thus allowing for greater hiring
flexibility.

            GDP (Constant Prices, National Currency) for Taiwan is TWD 14,206.32 Billion. In the
previous year, 2009, GDP (Constant Prices, National Currency) for Taiwan was TWD 12,818.94
Billion GDP (Constant Prices, National Currency) for Taiwan in 2010 was or will be 10.82% more
than it was or will be in 2009. In the following or forecasted year, 2011, GDP (Constant Prices,
National Currency) for Taiwan was or will be TWD 14,976.33 Billion, which is 5.42% more than the
2010 figure.
            In the previous year, 2009, Unemployment Rate (% of Labour Force) for Taiwan was 5.85 %
Unemployment Rate (% of Labour Force) for Taiwan in 2010 was or will be 10.94% less than it was or
will be in 2009. This makes Taiwan No. 81 in world rankings according to Unemployment Rate (% of
Labour Force) in year 2010. The world's average Unemployment Rate (% of Labour Force) value is
4.82 %; Taiwan is 0.39 more than the average. Unemployment Rate (% of Labour Force) for Taiwan in
year 2010 is 5.21 % in the following or forecasted year, 2011, Unemployment Rate (% of Labour
Force) for Taiwan was or will be 4.60 %, which is 11.71% less than the 2010 figure.

Position : Business Process Improvement Manager
Location: Bangalore, India
Industry : Apparel Manufacturing
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 • SAP and tech savvy Subject Matter Expertise for our Centralized Order Management Services
 team in India-Bangalore

 • Strong analyst who can revamp metrics on an ongoing basis to improve measurement
 accuracy

 • Process re-engineer expert who can perform on-ground diagnosis of inefficient working
 habits, identify process inefficiencies and drives further process streamlining (he/she must be
 someone experienced and credible enough to stand up in front of business leaders to advocate
 changes even after project team and SC are disbanded)

 • Develop radar on best practices, proactively and continuously pursue operations excellence

 • On-ground local trainer who would drive curriculum, approach of job skills training (vs. HR will
 support orientation and soft skills training) and also conduct actual training
Requirements
• From well established Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies and have been
doing that in a structured environment, so that he/she can bring best practices to the
company

• Process re-engineering and operations management experience

• Strong communications skills (apart from tech and process savvy, as this is a leadership
role, he/she has to earn credibility in front of production leaders, so has to be well verse
and eloquent)

• At least 5 years of relevant experience on how to improve the order process in SAP
platform

Position : Human Resources Manager
Location: Bangalore, India
Industry : Apparel Manufacturing
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Primary responsibilities for human resources and ideally the position also includes
responsibility for certain Finance and Logistics matter.

• Act as the HR generalist and HR business partner to the Country Manager of India

• Manage Associate Relations, Recruitment, Compensation, Performance Management and
Wage & Hour administration for the office. Acts as cross-functional leader in ensuring the
office is working together as a cohesive team. Manage HR budgets, and general HR
administration.

• Ensure consistent administration and communication of all Human Resources Compensation
and Benefit policies and procedures for the office, ensure policies and procedures are within
legal compliance. Maintain strong understanding of India labour laws and industrial law
regulations.

• Manage the Annual Compensation Review process for the office. Provide Compensation and
Performance Management support.
Requirements
• College degree preferred or equivalent experience.

• 8+ years of Human Resource experience ideally with Finance management experience

• Strong HR generalist background

• Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and personalities.

• Excellent communication, prioritizing and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to be a team player and to foster a commitment to teamwork among other
associates.

Living & Working in India
           Business wise, India is opening up and international companies are testing the
waters. Foreign companies, large and small, are sending employees from abroad to live and
work in India. Foreign consultants are coming. So are specialist, educators, trainers, and
others. These people are making India their home, at least for a while.

            More recently, spectacular economic growth and the explosion of offshore
outsourcing in India have brought even greater economic and social changes to India and its
population.

             An international assignment to India is an exciting but challenging prospect and
you will need to adapt immediately to a new set of cultural rules including different attitudes
to status and hierarchy, communication styles and time management. One of the major
forces of globalization in India has been in the growth of outsourced IT and business process
outsourcing (BPO) services.
India economy: Statistics
           In 2010, India’s PPP Gross Domestic Product stood at over $4 trillion, and was the
fourth largest economy by volume. The services sector, backed by the IT revolution, remained the
biggest contributor to the national GDP, with a contribution of 58.4%. The industry sector
contributed 24.1% and the agriculture sector contributed 17.5% to the GDP.

            The employment scenario was dominated by the services sector, creating 62.6% of
the jobs for the 467 million workforce. The industry sector contributed 25.8% to the GDP and
employed 20% of the workforce. The agriculture sector contributed 15.8% to the GDP and
created 17.5% jobs (India Labour Force). The unemployment rate remained around 10% in 2010.
However, rising inflation became a major concern, and measures to check it are being
implemented. In 2010, the rate of inflation was around 8.6% (India Inflation Rate Change).
