Why is WHP not common in Small Businesses?
▐ Special Requirements and conditions of Small
  Enterprises
            ▐ Limited finances (common WHP programms are too costly)
            ▐ Limited personal resources
            ▐ Limited time resources
            ▐ Low sensitisation for WHP
            ▐ Less division of work (boss is manager and worker)
            ▐ Mostly family enterprises (labour and private spheres are not
              separated)
            ▐ Multiple burden (Business, Family, regional public activities)
            ▐ Lack of long-time strategies (no business plans)

Objectives of VitaLab Project
▐ Distribution of WHM in Small Enterprises
  following strategies:
     ▐  Establishing regional Centers of Health and Work (VitaLab)
        and regional networks
     ▐ VitaLab Centers are run by regional business partners (not
        by health institutions)
     ▐ Development and implementation of useful and easy
        intervention instruments for MSEs
     ▐ Providing incentives (reduction of insurence prizes, locational
       advantage with a label for healthy workplaces)

Innovations of VitaLab Project

      ▐ Regional Approach with economic partners
      ▐ Development of new instruments for specific interests
        of MSEs
      ▐ Incentives, f.e. prospect of an insurance premium
        reduction for daily indemnification in case of illness
      ▐ WHP as a locational advantage for a region, f.e. with
        the label for healthy working in the region

  loyality and employee satisfication is relevant.

▐ 85% of the participants consider that the state of
  the mind is relevant (e.g. mental balance, cut off
  after work)

▐ 70% of the participants consider that a good

Why is WHP not common in Small Businesses? ▐ Special Requirements and conditions of Small Enterprises ▐ Limited finances (common WHP programms are too costly) ▐ Limited personal resources ▐ Limited time resources ▐ Low sensitisation for WHP ▐ Less division of work (boss is manager and worker) ▐ Mostly family enterprises (labour and private spheres are not separated) ▐ Multiple burden (Business, Family, regional public activities) ▐ Lack of long-time strategies (no business plans) Institut of Management IFU, School of Business, Switzerland 2

Objectives of VitaLab Project ▐ Distribution of WHM in Small Enterprises following strategies: ▐ Establishing regional Centers of Health and Work (VitaLab) and regional networks ▐ VitaLab Centers are run by regional business partners (not by health institutions) ▐ Development and implementation of useful and easy intervention instruments for MSEs ▐ Providing incentives (reduction of insurence prizes, locational advantage with a label for healthy workplaces) Institut of Management IFU, School of Business, Switzerland 5
