Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

1. From asking 11 people, my survey shows:
That there is a mixture of boys and girls because they are my intended audience.
The most popular age group was ‘15 or more’. This is because the most popular age group currently ranges from 15+, as nowadays several movies,
especially ‘horror genre’ films are rated 15. This rating of age in movies nowadays has greatly changed in terms of how it was rated in the older
times. Many movies in the past, especially horror genre were strictly rated 18, as many scenes consisted of blood, swearing etc. suggesting that
immediately this constricts the audience range, as anyone who is under the age of 18 cannot watch the movie. However, in this modern
generation, several horror movies are now rated 15, and this therefore instantly broadens the audience range making it a wider assortment.
The popular genre was Horror, then comedy and action, the rest were on the same number of 1. This immediately shows that the most preferred
genre by teenagers nowadays is the horror genre, as it consists of suspense, thriller and mystery, making it exciting for the audience/public.
When asked about what aspects are important to make a good film opening, several individuals said ‘context’. Then came cast, then director,
then special effects. I personally agree with the fact that ‘context’ is the most important to a successful film, as I feel a movie with not so popular
cast, a slightly unknown director, having not worked much on graphics and special effects can still lead to a good film opening, as it is vital that the
plot of the story is good and engaging. It is not necessary that a movie has to be a high budget film in order to be a good film opening, as there are
several expensive movies that have flopped. Low budget films can also be good, depending on the context/plot. I personally think context is the
most important, as if the target audience doesn’t like the plot/context of the film, there wont even reach the point, to start watching the movie; not
beginning to watch the movie means they would miss the opening scene, as they dislike the story and are not interested. Alongside context, I would
also add in ‘genre’, as if majority of the target audience’s don’t like the genre, for example, ‘comedy’, then they wont attempt to watch it. So
context and Genre would be fairly significant. The next was ‘Cast; I agree with that being the second most important, as a movie might not have a
spectacular, award-winning storyline, yet people would watch it, if they favourite actor/actress was in it. However, in our project, we are not
celebrities but our friends or family would want to watch our film opening, because it’s created by someone they know.
When asked, how important a soundtrack to a movie is, the most popular answer was that it is very important, as it sets the scene and that it is
important to have background music. A few others said it wasn’t so important. Especially in horror movies, ‘sound’ is the most important factor, as it’s
the sound effects and ambient sound that makes a good movie. I intend to add good sound effects to my 2 minute film opening that matches the
movie’s genre.
