Who would be the audience
for your media product?
Target Audience
Like I previously said in my target audience research, we think our project is aimed more at younger people because we
know what they would enjoy as we are teenagers ourselves and we know what we like.
However I believe that it would appeal to both genders and all social classes. This is because we have tried to use relatable
themes and characters throughout.
Why would it appeal/not appeal to teenagers and young adults?
It would appeal to teenagers and young adults because there is a use of relatable characters, and social media, both of
which are good when aiming a film at the younger generations, it keeps them interested.
It is not overly confusing, the storyline is easily followed so this will keep the audience interested as it is known that if a film
is too confusing the audience will become disinterested with it.
It features a group of younger actors, although we had the chance to use older actors for these roles we wanted to use the
younger actors as this will keep our target audience enjoying the film.
However it might not appeal to teenagers and young adults because even though we tried to make the characters relatable
as possible, they might not be able to relate to the situation (marriage, infidelity)
Why would appeal/not appeal to middle aged adults?
It might appeal to his bracket because they may be able to relate to the situation a lot easier than both the teenagers and
young adults and the elderly.
Again, the storyline isn’t overly confusing and they may find the conventions of the thriller film pleasing or enjoyable.
However, they may not be able to relate to the characters which might allow them to become disinterested with the movie
Why would it appeal/not appeal to the elderly?
This may not appeal to the elderly as they wouldn’t able to relate with the use social media or to the young actors used.
As well as this, they may say they have seen it all before, as thriller movies are one of the most popular genres of movies
and are produced more commonly than any other type of film genre.
